Meet Grayson, a beacon of resilience! Grayson is a 5 year old medium sized Tripod Pittie Mix… He has only been with us for a few weeks, arriving after being found in Hartford CT in a vacant hotel with a broken femur… Just a week ago he had his right hind leg amputated at the hip.. His recovery has been nothing short of amazing, a testament to Grayson's unbreakable spirit and will to thrive… He’s done remarkably well with dogs he’s met, cats are unknown and he will be fine with children over 13 years… He’s a strong boy that enjoys an active lifestyle even minus one leg… He is available for adoption now but will need to get neutered at our vet in 2 months… Applications can be found at wwk9rescue.com adoption fee is $450

Story
Meet Alice! Alice is a sweet and goofy 2.5-year-old Pitbull mix who has overcome a rough past to become a loving and playful companion. Spayed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped, Alice is ready to find her forever family! She lives for belly rubs and will happily wiggle non-stop to get more. She’s also a toy lover who adores carrying her favorite stuffed toys everywhere she goes. Alice is 100% house-trained, never having an accident in her foster home, and enjoys sunbathing and exploring the yard during her outdoor breaks. Alice would thrive as the only dog in her home due to her heartworm treatment rest and prefers a kid-free environment where she can take her time warming up to new people. Once she’s added you to her “trusted list,” she’ll shower you with love, cuddles, and even try to be your 56-pound lap dog! She’s crate trained and does best in a heavy-duty crate, as she likes to feel secure. While her leash manners are still a work in progress, her enthusiasm for life and love is unmatched. Alice is looking for a patient and loving family who will give her the care and understanding she needs to thrive. “You can’t change a dog’s past, but you can rewrite their future.” Could Alice be part of yours? To apply directly for Alice click the "Apply for Adoption" button. https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/FODS-A-513 All our dogs come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. This benefit includes free access to Petcademy's team of trainers/behaviorists, as well as access to online materials that will help you settle your new family member into your home. You can text unlimited questions to Petcademy and they'll respond within 24 hours (Monday-Friday).

Story
Tigger was rescued from a home where he laid in a crate that was rarely cleaned and the conditions were horrible. A CPR volunteer saw this situation and asked if the owner would surrender and they did! He was weak from no exercise and was being fed very little food. After 11 days in foster care, this baby has blossomed into a normal happy active little pup! He runs, plays and his tail never quits wagging and is no longer ticked between is legs. Tigger is so sweet, does awesome in a crate and so far no barking or whining. This little guy hasn’t found his voice. He loves children and other dogs. Tigger Is spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, treated for all of the intestinal parasites, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Because intestinal parasites are cyclical, your puppy may need additional treatment once you get him/her home. This is common and nothing to be alarmed about. Puppies and dogs need to be treated periodically for parasites throughout their entire lives. The adoption fee is $550 if your adoption is prepaid prior to your pup's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on puppies that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! More and more of our adopters are having fun with DNA tests on their pups. You might ask yourself why our breed guess is varying degrees of difference from the DNA tests. Most of our puppies are rescued from high kill shelters or other abandonment situations and we have no info on parents. When we rescue puppies that have no background info, we make our very best educated guess as to breed mix and age. Our guesstimate comes from years and years and years of animal welfare work and training, but our guesses won't always agree with your vet, your neighbor, your DNA test, etc. The most important thing to know about your puppy's breed mix is that most likely he/she is a Super Lovable Mutt made of many many many different breeds. If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at the Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get an automatically generated confirmation email. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.

Story
This puppy is in Tennessee. Adoption Donation $250 if picked up in TN, $325 plus transport fee for out-of-state adoptions. Are you ready for an adorable bundle of energy and love? Meet Cooper, a sweet and goofy 10-week-old American Pitbull Terrier mix who is as playful as he is affectionate. At just 15 pounds, Cooper is all about fun and curiosity. He’s exploring the world one head tilt, hoppy gallop, and snuggle session at a time! Cooper’s personality is a delightful mix of energetic playfulness and heartwarming affection. He’s a happy, curious pup who adores playing fetch (although sometimes he likes to keep the ball for himself), chewing on his toys, and having zoomies with other dogs. When he’s not busy chasing after a toy or watching the world go by, Cooper loves to cuddle up on the couch for a cozy nap—sometimes on his back in hilariously adorable positions. Cooper’s endearing quirks are sure to make you smile. He does the classic “head tilt” when you talk to him, giving you his full attention and melting your heart in the process. He’s also incredibly observant—whether watching you cook dinner or keeping an eye on the mailman, Cooper loves to be part of the action.  Though he’s still young and learning the ropes, Cooper is crate trained and sleeps soundly through the night in his crate. He’s not yet house trained and needs supervision indoors to avoid accidents, but he’s treat-motivated and shows great promise for quick learning. With patience, consistency, and love, he’ll soon master the basics like house training, leash walking, and commands. Cooper is a social butterfly who loves meeting new people and playing with other dogs. His tail wags with excitement at the sight of strangers, and he’d be thrilled to have a doggy sibling to keep him company and help burn off his puppy energy. He hasn’t been around cats yet, but with his friendly personality, he’s likely to adjust well. Cooper would thrive in an active home with a large, fenced-in yard where he can run, play, and explore. If you’re ready for a puppy and looking for a loyal, affectionate companion with plenty of energy and personality, Cooper is your guy! He’s a smart, curious pup who’s eager to learn and share his playful spirit with the right family. With time, training, and love, Cooper will grow into the perfect best friend.  Interested in adopting? THIS PET IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE! We do list and adopt our pets nationwide. Typical transport cost to the Northeast is $180. Due to interstate adoption regulations, we are not able to adopt to RI and MA state residents. A.A.R.F. (All About Rescue and Fixin' Inc.) http://aarf-tn.com/ is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) no kill animal rescue organization located in the Upper Cumberland area of Tennessee. A.A.R.F. is comprised of unpaid volunteers and survives only on public donations. Thank you for thinking adoption first! Prior to adoption, all canines and felines are spayed or neutered, have received their age appropriate vaccinations, have been de-wormed for common parasites, and have received treatment for prevention of fleas and ticks. All canines over the age of 6 months have been tested for heartworm. All canines are put on heartworm prevention as soon as possible - this means dogs as soon as they are tested negative. Puppies are put on prevention immediately. All felines, regardless of age, have been tested for Feline Leukemia/FIV. Each animal receives a health check by a licensed veterinarian prior to adoption. Anything else found will be treated by our organization prior to adoption. December 24, 2024, 1:57 pm
