Story
Helloooooo Canadaaaaa! My name is Kyros and here is some info about me: Breed: American Pitbull TerrierAge: 8 yrsGender: maleWeight: 28 kgs/ 61lbsHeight: tbd Witnesses saw me being dumped from a car on a busy highway. Terribly shameful thing for someone to do. Thank goodness my rescuer saved me. After my rescue, my old owner was identified and my rescuer discovered that I lived most of my life (5 years) tied outside a garage... through cold winters and hot, hot summers. I lived neglected and tossed away.  Horrible again. I was adopted within 6 months after being rescued from the side of the highway.  My owner and I bonded very well and had some great times together!  He was showing me kindness and helping me to trust and learn some rewarding behaviours.  Unfortunately, he suffered a sudden heart attack and passed away.  So sad.  After that, I was placed in a paid boarding facility, where I am extremely depressed and barely eating.  I am an extremely loyal and protective dog. I often get depressed and stop eating if I am not with a human for a long period of time. I warm up to, and bond with people very quickly.  I stay close to my human and give them a lot of sloppy kisses and love. I can be trained easily once I trust the person.  My motivations have been verbal and physical praise and attention-- show me love and I will follow your command! I was initially reactive towards all dogs, but with training and some socialization from my previous owner, I was able to approach female dogs in a playful way without reacting. See my video. Though still not friendly with male dogs at all (have a bite history with a male dog). I will never be the dog who can be left off-leash in a park, but with proper training and leadership, I can be a very good dog and loyal companion! Through the work my owner had done, I can walk past barking male dogs (with a secure fence separating us) without flinching (before I was adopted, I used to lunge and pull right away), but if one of them crosses a line and annoys me, I will still lunge and snap at them. If my training is resumed, I'm sure I can improve further. I showed definite improvement with someone taking the time to work with me. The best home would be one without young children or other pets. I will do well with 1.5 hours of walking per day and around 30 minutes of running or tug play. It would be ideal to be in a home with a fenced space for off-leash play, since I cannot be left with other dogs. It would be grand if I could go to a Pitbull knowledgeable home.  We're truly an amazing breed! ENERGY LEVEL: Moderate I GET ALONG WITH:Dogs: ok with females (on leash only) and not friendly at all with males.Cats: unknown, but not likelyKids: unknown. I greet kids (7-10 yrs) during walks, but have never lived with one. I seem friendly and kind with them during walks.  Must be monitored. PREY DRIVE: High FEARS:none that my rescue mom knows of! I do get jumpy if someone does a lot of sudden movements around me due to my abusive history. TRAINING: someLeash skills – I am leash reactive, so will need continued work on this. My previous owner was teaching me how to walk nicely on the leash, but I still pull a lot!House trained – I was in a home before, but need a refresher!Other tricks – sit and stay HEALTH NOTES:I am a healthy boy. I am fully vaccinated and neutered. I am also microchipped! My adoption fee is $650.00 CAD + applicable taxes, which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver. I would likely fly through Montreal, see extra costs below. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. ##1304455##

Story
My name is Yams and here is a little info about me:Breed: Pit bull/Mastiff Mix (maybe some boxer too!)Age: 1 year oldGender: Female, spayedWeight: 60 lbsHeight: 27 in I was found as a stray dog and was transfered to a shelter in California when I was only a few months old. Nobody adopted me so they put me in euthanasia list because they were running out of space there. Thankfully a kind lady agreed to foster and took me in temporary to save my life. She couldn't believe nobody came forward to adopt me. I am a cute, friendly and very happy girl! I get along with everyone, love to kiss and cuddle humans. LOVE all the dogs I met so far big or small, even cats! I don't have a mean bone in my body, I am a very submissive lady. I was so skinny when I was found that the shelter staff couldn't guess my breed, I was just skin and bones. Don't worry, that's all in the past! I grew up, gained some weight and I look amazing now! My pretty coat is now shining. I still act like a puppy, I will benefit from some training. I have some puppy energy to burn, if you need a hiking buddy that can keep up with you I'm your gal. I am house-trained but might need some help in my new home. I loves people and other dogs and get along great with them and currently am living with many other dogs in a foster home and 2 cats. I have so much love to give, please adopt me! I'm in California but if I have an adopter I can come to Vancouver very soon!    Energy Level: high/moderate I get along with:Dogs: yesCats: yesKids: yes, no video proof Prey drive: unknown/not observed. Story
✅Currently located in South Korea✅️ 💟Available to fly to Vancouver & Toronto💟 Meet Mina💞 * Interaction with People: Likes people! Is shy initially with strangers but soon approaches them with affection and acts charming. Is not usually the type to approach first but does not shy away from contact, enjoying and accepting gentle touches. * Interaction with Dogs: Gets along well with other dogs. Is often the first to greet new dogs at the Center and welcomes those approaching her without reservation. Tolerates playful nips well from other dogs. Mingles with any dog without confrontation. * Separation Anxiety: It’s hard to determine because she is residing in a group at the Center. Appears content and relaxed even when alone. * Potty Training: Uses currently outdoors potty while living at the Center. Prefers outdoor potty but occasionally has potty accidents in her kennel when it is urgent. * Hygiene: Stays still while being touched by humans. Accepts baths and brushing nicely. Is patient enough to have her nail trimmed quietly once her paws are properly held. * Walks: Is currently under training because she does not feel comfortable at going for walk for now. There is no resistance to wear a collar or harness. Wears clothes well but takes them off promptly on her own maybe due to their tight feeling. 💌Special Notes💌 * Her skin discoloration should improve in a cleaner environment. * Though timid, Mina sometimes acts boldly. Her attraction is charm and smile even though her personality is somewhat cat-like. ❗Health Status❗ * Neutering: Done * Others: Microchipped, heartworm negative * Due to the muddy conditions at the Center, Mina’s legs have become discolored from constant contact with dirt. This has not affected her health or skin condition. * She is getting weekly medicated baths due to skin trouble presumably caused by allergies.
