Story
Introducing Jag! An absolute gem of a senior boy on the hunt for a loving fur-ever family to live out his golden years in. Jag came to us needing emergency surgery for an injured eye. He is now giving a permanent wink and looking extra cute doing so! He gets around well although sometimes can miscalculate his steps and bump the wall. It all comes with practice! In his senior years he is feeling a bit more stiff in the joints, so a home with minimal stairs and a family dedicated to getting him to a healthier weight is ideal! Jag can be curious of new people at the start, sometimes giving a small bark. Once he has you figured out that you're good news, he is all loving and tail wags! He is happy to meander out into the yard and then come back inside to cozy up on his big dog bed. He is all about the maximum comfort. He has lived in a home previously with a dog and a cat, but would likely do best being the only pet in the home now, so that is is all about him!! Jag is ready to win you over with his loving heart and big brown eye! ♥ Primary Color: Brown Brindle Weight: 47.9 Age: 6yrs 0mths 2wks

Story
Wonton is a sweet, agreeable puppy with a love for everything and everyone.Since being living in a foster home, Wonton has learned to sit, wait, and understand that he needs to pee and poop outside. His bladder is still small so he needs to go out at least once overnight. He is great on a leash and likes his walks. He adores other doggies and people. He is treat motivated and learns quickly. He is a good traveler in our car. He has explored trails and off leash parks, many new neighbourhoods, has visited friends in new and different houses, been in elevators and is getting use to the loud vacuum cleaner and other household noises. He gets excited at feeding time and barks as you prepare his food and licks the bowl clean every time.Wonton would do best with a home with older kids. Although he loves any and all chew toys, he is teething so he can get mouthy and nibble on toes and ankles. He also can get the zoomies once or twice a day where his energy goes through the roof. But he calms down quickly and is ready for a nap soon after. He does well with positive reinforcement training along with some guidance. He would be great as the star of any home but we feel he would also be really happy with a doggie sister or brother.Wonton has been left alone in our home for almost 2 hours without incident and he happily sleeps while we are out. He prefers to be waiting by the door on his bed. He is a happy little boy who will thrive with a family who understands puppies and can keep teaching him. He will grow up to be an unbelievable companion! Primary Color: White Secondary Color: Brown Weight: 16.7 Age: 0yrs 4mths 3wks

Story
Lou is an adorable 8-month-old Pit Bull Terrier mix puppy with an endless supply of energy! This affectionate boy is happiest when he's around people, is really snuggly and loving but is still learning how to be appropriate with his affection. Lou has a playful spirit and will need plenty of enrichment to keep his clever mind engaged. He will be a great match for someone who can provide him with activities like Kongs/puzzle toys in between long-leash walks to help him burn off energy while exploring his surroundings.Training is a positive experience for Lou thanks to his food motivation and he's doing really well learning various cues like "sit" and showing great potential, though he'll need a bit more guidance in managing his excitement-especially when it comes to jumping up to say hello. Lou also needs some training with leash walking, as he sometimes pulls and jumps up when something catches his eye, however with consistent training his enthusiastic personality can be channeled into being the best buddy on walks and adventures. While Lou would like to be the only animal in the home, he would love to have doggy friends that he can meet up with to zoom around and get his beans out! If you're ready for a loyal, lively companion who will keep you laughing, brighten your days, and keep you busy, Lou could be the perfect addition to your family! Story
Say hello to Massimo! This young boy is full of energy and loves to play in our yard with his toys. He is very tidy and fully house-trained. He came from a home with a small breed dog and he gets along with the other dogs in the shelter so with proper introductions he would be great in a home that is looking for a second dog. His life experience has been very limited and he is still getting used to the world so he does need a lot of support and encouragement to feel safe when experiencing new places and new things. Massimo struggles with this when he goes on leashed walks and pulls the leash because he is scared. Massimo's new home will need to teach him how to feel secure by slowly introducing him to his new world with lots of praise and positive rewards. While he has been with us in the shelter he has shown signs of distress when he is left alone and in a home this may present as barking and whining. He would benefit from a home that has a flexible work schedule that allows him plenty of time with his new family and learning to be left alone through small increments. Do you think you could be Massimo's forever home? Submit an online application adopt.spca.bc.ca and staff will contact the first suitable adopter to set-up a visit! Kindly note that due to the high number of applications and the availability of walk-in adoptions, an online applicant would have to be available to come in for a meet within 24 hrs Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 27.4 Age: 1yrs 7mths 3wks
