Story
jolene is such a playful goofball & is super easy to train! she's the best cuddler & loves to be with her humans. she loves to go on hikes, play fetch, & use tug toys. she is a super fun pup but also loves being mellow. please note, jolene is a nervous girl & needs someone who is patient. she needs time to warm up to folks in the home for a few weeks. jolene also isn't a fan of walks in busy areas (she can walk in town if she has to but she'll pancake a bit if it gets loud) so a home w/ a yard would be of benefit. overall she is well trained & walks nicely on leash. jolene needs to be an only pet (she doesn't get on w/ my other small female senior pup anymore). she'd do best w/ children 12+ energy level: medium - needs regular exercise but loves to couch potato. weight: 40 lbs age: 2.5 yrs house & crate trained available for meet & greets; will bring all supplies if adopted see more on her instagram; @adoptablejolene

Story
Welcome Contessa to CCPAL Rescue. She is a 6-year-old American Bulldog/Pittie mix is our guess. She has an adorable blue and one brown eye. She weighs about 50 pounds and is good with other dogs. She barks at her kennel door so her best place would be with a wooden privacy fence. She is moderate to low activity and loves to be touched. She is good in her crate and will make some lucky family a good companion. She is lower energy so she could go with a more relaxed and laid-back family. She could also go with children. We like them to be 10 or older. She was found as a stray on the construction site and had to survive until a good Samaritan caught her and brought her to CCPAL rescue. She warms up slowly but bonds deeply to her people. She has fallen in love with the kennel fellas. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally in Texas or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 200 and transport is 180. She is healthy, vaccinated, spayed and ready for her forever home. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Story
*Due to state laws regarding out of state adoptions, we cannot adopt to families in Massachusetts or Rhode Island.* Ethal is an approximately 5 year old female bulldog mix. Due to heartworms in the past (she is now negative) she is in congestive heart failure and looking for a hospice home. We have no idea of her future. She may live 5 months or 5 more years. She is on daily medicines which the rescue would provide the first month while she gets settled in. She is still active and loves to meet new people. She can get easily excited so she may not be the best for young kids. She does well with other dogs, but can be on the bossy side so would be better with a submissive dog who would let her boss them around. Her adoption fee has been lowered to just cover costs associated with transport.  Listed breed is an educated guess made by our veterinarian and is NOT a guarantee - this also means we have no way of knowing what a puppy's adult size will be. This dog is currently being fostered in Mississippi and will be transported via Barton's Barkers transport services upon adoption. Their adoption fee is $200 and includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, a nose to tail vet check, microchip and transport costs. Second Chances lists dogs as being available in White River Junction, VT because we transport our dogs to the area every 3rd week after they have been adopted. All of our local shelters have a high euthanasia rate due to overpopulation so we created our rescue group to primarily adopt to the northern states to help keep as many dogs as we can from entering our kill shelters.   ##1621551##

Story
*Due to state laws regarding out of state adoptions, we cannot adopt to families in Massachusetts or Rhode Island.* Fred is an older gentle giant. We think between 5-7 years old. His adoption fee has been reduced due to age. He still has plenty of years of love to give and we would love to find him his forever family to finally go home to. Listed breed is an educated guess made by our veterinarian and is NOT a guarantee - this also means we have no way of knowing what a puppy's adult size will be. This dog is currently being fostered in Mississippi and will be transported via Barton's Barkers transport services upon adoption.
