Story
Please meet the amazing Charlie! Charlie was first came to the shelter about a year ago, as a lost doggie. He was adopted by a family that loved him, but they are in an apartment and decided it wasn't a good environment for Charlie. They brought him back to the shelter so he could find a family with a yard and more room for an active young dog. Charlie is a great dog with a great personality and is curious to know everything! He would love to be apart of an active family that would like to include in all of your adventures! He is very sweet, cute and very playful. Just a doll! Wouldn't you agree? His former family says he is house- and crate-trained, and good with kids and other dogs, but not fond of cats. He is quiet in his kennel at the shelter. He is very intelligent as he knows how to sit and he may know more. Can you help this little guy get out of the shelter and continue to live his life happily? Charlie is current on vaccines, neutered and tested negative for heartworms; he will be micro chipped upon his adoption. Charlie is just 2 years old and weighs 44lbs. Please come see him and get to know him better. He will be waiting for you in Run 849. Charlie's ID is 7869. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Story
Hello lovely people! I'd like to take the time to introduce myself if you don't mind. My name is Graham. I decided to take an awesome adventure in hopes I would find a kind and loving home to spend my near golden years and before I could find a proper one, I was brought to the shelter with ID on 7/24.Sadly, no one has tried to come look for me and take me home. Its a pretty sad situation and I'm sad because I don't want to spend another minute of my almost golden years in a loud, overcrowded shelter. Especially in a strange kennel for nearly 24 hours a day. I look forward to my walks and playtime with my friends, the volunteers. That little bit of time outside my kennel I cherish. I would really like to spend the rest of my years with you in a warm, welcoming home filled with nothing but love. and kindness everyday. Can you help me make my wish come true soon? I really hope so! I am a cute, sweet, gentle older fellow that deserves a better life. Wouldn't you agree? I am a very intelligent boy, too, and I do know how to sit when asked. So at some point I had someone that loved me enough to teach me some manners. I'm sure I know a little more and you could teach me even if I don't. Spend time with me and I'll show all the great things I could do! I am still eager to please and I can learn anything I don't know already. I will be your best student if you would be my best teacher! Oh, I am 6 years old and I also weigh 63lbs and every pound is nothing but pure love!! Which is a plus in my pup book! If you have got a loving heart to make time for me in your world, then I am your forever boy and I will be waiting for you. Just give me a chance and be patient with me. I would like to be apart of a family again and be wanted and loved and included in everything. I'm still a young pup at heart and a true love bug. Come see me please!! Graham is current on vaccines, neutered and micro chipped. He will be tested for heart worms also upon his adoption. Come visit him and allow him to live the rest of his adult life happily. He won't let you down. Graham will be waiting for his guardian angel in Run 26 and his ID is 5893. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. Story
Eckhart is in a foster to adopt program while he goes through his heartworm treatment. This is the only scenario to foster to adopt through the shelter. Hello great big world!! Introducing this beautiful boy we are calling Eckhart. Its the perfect name for this distinguished fellow as it means "sacred". Eckhart was wanting to be the ultimate explorer but that expedition was cut short because someone felt he should not be outside all alone and was brought to the shelter on 10/6. Eckhart is just 2 years old and weighs 65lbs. He is sweet, was initially shy but he has warmed very quickly. The volunteers have showered him with a lot of love and encouragement while he waits for his forever home. He is loving the affection and attention we are giving him. What pup doesn't want that? He must have a had a loving home at one point in his young life. They may have taken some time to show him some skills because he knows how to sit when asked. He will happily sit for treats! He may know more and would be willing to learn everything he needs to know to grow into the awesome pup that we know he already is! He is eager to please you and would be the perfect student. Eckhart is very loving and super sweet. He is the gentle guy that you would fall in love with. Can you please help this sweetheart and get him out of this loud, overcrowded shelter soon? He is still pretty young and have so much life and love to give. A shelter is no place for a young pup to start out in life. He is ready to be with you for the rest of his life. He deserves it and more. Eckhart is current on vaccines and will be neutered and micro chipped upon his adoption. Unfortunately, Eckhart tested positive for heartworms. Dogs who are treated for heartworms usually go on to live long and healthy lives. Please come see him soon and get to know him better! He will be waiting for his favorite person/family in Run 26. Eckhart's ID is 662442. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. Story
A SWEET & FUN GIRL:  Approx. 2 years old / Approx. 29 lbs. & needs to gain a little more weight Hi, my name is Danica!  Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control, and I am so glad they did!  I’m having a great time in my foster home and have just heard that I’m ready to be adopted by my furever family!  So exciting!   • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I really like the other dogs in my foster home and am learning cues from them for when it’s time to stop playing, so if you have a sweet dog at home already, let’s meet!  / Cats unknown. / I met and love the neighborhood kids in my foster home that are around 9 years old, and I recently met some kids at Mostly Mutts around 10 years old and liked them too, so if you have kids around those ages, let’s meet!  Best no toddlers that I may bump over. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  Before going into my foster home, I was known around the shelter as the ‘sweet and active girl with the cutest underbite’.  I have a playful nature and – though a bit nervous initially, my foster dad won me over with a treat!  Now I love and trust him too.  I have an affectionate and very friendly demeanor with a good amount of energy. I made a good impression during my photo shoot with the MM photographer, and I was calm and wonderful for my shelter bath and ear cleaning.  A loving and fun girl, I bet you will agree that I am a great companion for a lucky family. / My energy level is 5-7. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I know the ‘sit’ command and I’m sure you can teach me lots more. / My crate manners are good in my foster home – I sleep in it quietly at nighttime. / My potty habits have been good in my foster home on a schedule.  I’ve started going to the door but don’t bark that I need to go out yet.    • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love attention and especially those good neck and belly rubs. I also like soft dog beds, naps and toys, so let’s play. / I can’t think of any dislikes, though  I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.  I have an old break in my right rear leg that the vet checked out and can see that it’s healing well. It doesn’t cause me any pain, but I could get arthritis a little earlier than some other dogs, so I’m on an inexpensive over-the-counter Cosequin tablet daily to help with that and should stay on it for life.  I am looking for a great home with a loving, furever family!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  January 14, 2025, 9:03 am

Story
A SWEETHEART OF A PUPPY:  Approx. 7 months old / Approx. 30 lbs. & growing Hi, my name is Juno – a pretty girl with beautiful eyes!  Somehow, I ended up at animal control as a younger pup.  Thankfully, Mostly Mutts came for me, and I have been soaking up the love and attention from the dedicated volunteers.  I was adopted for several weeks but it wasn’t a good fit, so I’m back with MM’s and in the prison/foster training program learning a lot. Please inquire at 770-272-6888 to find out when I'm available to meet. • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met dogs in the prison/foster training program, and I enjoy playing with them, so if you have a nice dog that would like a puppy friend, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over.  • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  The volunteers describe me a as ‘a real sweetheart who just wants love’.  I have typical puppy higher energy and I’m so sweet that the photographer said I was her ‘favorite’ (sshhhh … don’t tell the others).  Affectionate and playful with a gentle spirit, you are sure to fall in love! My trainer reports that I’m the sweetest dog ever and that’s saying a lot! / My energy level is 6-8 so let’s plan to be active together. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m in the Mostly Mutts University training program and have already mastered the ‘sit’ and ‘stay’ commands and my trainers expect me to be a graduate very soon, because I’m a fast learner! / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. / My potty habits have been very good in the prison/foster training program, so keep me on a good schedule and I think I’ll do very well.  • LIKES/DISLIKES:  Like most puppies, I LOVE to play – though I am also quite the love bug and welcome every opportunity to cuddle and give kisses.  Fall is my favorite season, because I LOVE to play in the leaves.  I don’t just chase them and jump in leaf piles.  I actually ‘surf’ through the leaves – making tracks while dragging myself along in the perfect sploot – so cute! I also love to play with tennis balls. / I’m not a fan of the rain, as it spoils my fun play sessions.  Otherwise, I can’t think of things I don’t like yet since I’m so young, but I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on my immunizations, micro-chipped and spayed.  If you’re ready for the fun and excitement of having a puppy as well as the training commitment, let’s meet!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.   January 29, 2025, 12:02 pm

Story
Bubba has been my best friend since moving to Atlanta. He has a huge personality and is very stubborn. He has a lot of puppy-like traits and likes to gently nibble hands when he is excited. You can usually just tell him to stop. He likes to play catch and tug. He has never ruined any shoes, but he has had a run in or who with my baseball caps and socks (he likes chewing anything that smells like me). Bubba does not seem to enjoy a long walk- but he loves to be outside sniffing and barking “hello” at passersby. Bubba needs a lot of attention and close companionship or he does start to develop a bit of an attitude and resorts to regressive behaviors (peeing by the door). I admit that he could use some training- it has just been us and our cat working from home for the last 2 years. Everyone in the family loves Bubba. He has been on several road trips (up to 14hrs) and he loves to travel. Bubba is a superstar and loves wearing shirts! His whole attitude changes in a T-shirt.

Tyson is a brave, funny and smart boy who is very loyal and affectionate to those he knows and loves. He is quiet and gentle and loves treats and lots of cuddles. He loves to play but he also enjoys his sleep. Tyson is good with other dogs, but of course rule of thumb for any dog a slow introduction is necessary. Tyson loves his blankets, and he loves a good bone. Tyson is potty trained, crate trained, and he knows basic commands and a few tricks. Tyson has been through a rough few months and he deserves his forever family.

This beautiful Boxer mix is Poppy! She arrived at the shelter as a lost girl on 11/4, and no one has come to reclaim her. Poppy is now keeping her paws crossed for a new forever home where she will be loved and kept safe so that she never ends up back in the shelter. The volunteers have enjoyed getting to know Poppy and describe her as friendly and sweet, but initially a little shy. This is probably due to the loud, overwhelming shelter environment. We're sure once she's in a loving home, her personality will really shine! Poppy is attentive to the people around her and does know how to sit nicely when asked. It appears she has had puppies in the past, but she'll soon be taking the "no more puppies" pledge. If Poppy sounds like the new BFF you've been searching for, please come meet her today! Poppy is approximately 2 years old, and she weighs 43 lbs. She is UTD on vaccines, and she will be spayed, microchipped, and heartworm tested upon adoption.
