A WONDERFUL YOUNG PUP:  Approx. 9 – 10 months old / Approx. 46 lbs. & growing  Hi, my name is Taffy!  I had a home, but my owner simply did not have the time to devote to me that I deserved, so I made my way to Mostly Mutts to find a new family to love and be loved by. I’m soaking up all the attention from the volunteers at the shelter and can’t wait to do the same with my new family!  I got to spend some time in the prison/foster training program and had fun as well as learned a lot!    • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met dogs at Mostly Mutts and in the prison/foster training program and I liked them, so if you have a nice doggy at home who would enjoy a friend, let’s meet! My trainer reports that when I’m finished playing, I’ll just flop over while the other dog continues to try and play – so funny! / Cats unknown. / I met kids at Mostly Mutts that were around 10 years old, and I liked them!  I was interested in grabbing their feet when they ran though, so I’m working on that.  If you have kids around 10 and up, let’s meet and best no toddlers or very young kids. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a super friendly and fun pup with a sweet personality.  A typical pup, I am playful and fun.  The volunteers who care for me describe me as ‘the most delightful, sweet girl with a happy energy’.  A true lap dog, my affectionate nature, will surely bring lots of joy to a lucky family! / My energy level is 4-6.  • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I’m in the Mostly Mutts University training program now and have mastered the ‘sit’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘leave it’, ‘drop it’ and ‘place’ commands.  I also use proper door etiquette and accept friendly strangers without jumping on them, though I occasionally get puppy mouthy when I’m meeting new people, but not at all in a mean way – my trainer says it’s all puppy!  I did get a volunteer’s hand in my mouth, but again it was all in play. I’m working on my leash manners as my trainer reports that I’m a lazy walker and when I’m done, I’m done, though I do still pull at times.  We are trying the ‘WE’ leash to help me with that, for now, kids should not walk me though. / My potty manners have improved, and I think keeping me on a good schedule is key!  I did have occasional overnight accidents in the prison/foster training program. Please continue to be consistent with me on a good schedule, so I can master my potty skills. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love to spend time playing with the volunteers and trainers – readily giving and receiving affection and kisses. I like toys too, but I haven’t tugged on them – I tend to just drop them if you want them. / I can’t think of any dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I am looking for a great home with a loving family for life!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  December 12, 2024, 7:19 am

Story
A REAL PEOPLE DOG:  Approx. 6 years old / Approx. 26 lbs. Hi, my name’s Irwin and I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control.  Since joining the MM family, I’ve been soaking up all the love from the volunteers who come to care for me.  I hear that I’m now ready to find my new family, and I am so excited for that day.  Hopefully it will be soon!  I spent some time in the prison/foster training program offsite and learned a lot! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I recently met dogs at Mostly Mutts, and I was a little shy, but didn’t show any aggression and played a little after warming up for a few minutes.  I also did well with the dog in a temp. foster home.  I was gentle and friendly with her, though we didn’t play together.  We did share my temp. foster dad’s lap, which is what I would rather do than spend time playing.  If you have a friendly dog at home already, let’s meet. / I met cats recently in two different temp. foster homes and I was respectful and co-existed with them, simply sniffing them and going on my way.  I even shared my foster’s bed with one of them.  I also did not react to the one I saw on my walk, so if you have a dog-friendly cat, let’s meet and see if we can be friends. / There was a 13- and 18-year-old in my temp. foster home and I was friendly and gentle with them and enjoyed when they pet me. So, if you have kids, let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over.    • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  The volunteers describe me as friendly, calm, gentle, sweet, and a charmer as well as the sweetest boy who will melt your heart.  I’m looking for a family that has a stay or work from home family member as my favorite thing in life is to sit by my people or even on their lap.  I can be a bit of a couch potato, with a calm/low energy level when we are inside hanging out together.  I had little spurts of play but was mostly chill in the home.  They reported that I was an all-around sweetie!  They also said that I didn’t bark much (except when in that dreaded crate), but I did whine when my foster was walking away from me or when left inside by myself.  In the prison/foster training program, I only whine when I am excited to go on my walks and for about 20 minutes when first crated.  I really seem to love everyone I’ve met so far and I’m sure I’ll love my new family too! / In my temp. foster home my energy level was approx. 3-5.  At the shelter it’s more like 4-6.  • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program so I’ve learned the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands.  I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping.  / In the prison/foster training program, I whine for about 20 minutes when first crated.  I have been well-behaved out of my crate, but if you need me to use a crate, please continue to encourage me with positive reinforcement.  The MM trainers can help you with this.  /  I had excellent potty manners in the prison/foster training program.  I also did well in two temp. foster homes I visited.  I’d go and stand close to the door to let them know I needed to go potty, and I didn’t have any accidents the 2 days I was in each home.  • LIKES/DISLIKES:  Most of all, I love being by my humans, cuddling up nice and close.  I met some strangers in my temp. foster home and loved on them like I knew them already.  I also like toys and playing fetch as well as chasing critters in the yard.  Walks are also on my likes list. / Besides my hate for the crate, I also don’t really like being left alone much.  Car rides are not my favorite right now, but maybe I just need more experience going on fun adventures with you.  I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I’m getting medicated baths for a little while to help with some discomfort on my front feet.  These can easily be done in my new home.  I took Apoquel for a short time to help alleviate the itchiness in my paws, but I seem to be doing much better now. I’m looking for a wonderful family with a stay or work from home family member who will be patient with me at first – giving me a little time to settle in and feel comfortable. My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  November 25, 2024, 10:47 am

Story
Hello lovely people! I'd like to take the time to introduce myself if you don't mind. My name is Graham. I decided to take an awesome adventure in hopes I would find a kind and loving home to spend my near golden years and before I could find a proper one, I was brought to the shelter with ID on 7/24.Sadly, no one has tried to come look for me and take me home. Its a pretty sad situation and I'm sad because I don't want to spend another minute of my almost golden years in a loud, overcrowded shelter. Especially in a strange kennel for nearly 24 hours a day. I look forward to my walks and playtime with my friends, the volunteers. That little bit of time outside my kennel I cherish. I would really like to spend the rest of my years with you in a warm, welcoming home filled with nothing but love. and kindness everyday. Can you help me make my wish come true soon? I really hope so! I am a cute, sweet, gentle older fellow that deserves a better life. Wouldn't you agree? I am a very intelligent boy, too, and I do know how to sit when asked. So at some point I had someone that loved me enough to teach me some manners. I'm sure I know a little more and you could teach me even if I don't. Spend time with me and I'll show all the great things I could do! I am still eager to please and I can learn anything I don't know already. I will be your best student if you would be my best teacher! Oh, I am 6 years old and I also weigh 63lbs and every pound is nothing but pure love!! Which is a plus in my pup book! If you have got a loving heart to make time for me in your world, then I am your forever boy and I will be waiting for you. Just give me a chance and be patient with me. I would like to be apart of a family again and be wanted and loved and included in everything. I'm still a young pup at heart and a true love bug. Come see me please!! Graham is current on vaccines, neutered and micro chipped. He will be tested for heart worms also upon his adoption. Come visit him and allow him to live the rest of his adult life happily. He won't let you down. Graham will be waiting for his guardian angel in Run 26 and his ID is 5893. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Story
Eckhart is in a foster to adopt program while he goes through his heartworm treatment. This is the only scenario to foster to adopt through the shelter. Hello great big world!! Introducing this beautiful boy we are calling Eckhart. Its the perfect name for this distinguished fellow as it means "sacred". Eckhart was wanting to be the ultimate explorer but that expedition was cut short because someone felt he should not be outside all alone and was brought to the shelter on 10/6. Eckhart is just 2 years old and weighs 65lbs. He is sweet, was initially shy but he has warmed very quickly. The volunteers have showered him with a lot of love and encouragement while he waits for his forever home. He is loving the affection and attention we are giving him. What pup doesn't want that? He must have a had a loving home at one point in his young life. They may have taken some time to show him some skills because he knows how to sit when asked. He will happily sit for treats! He may know more and would be willing to learn everything he needs to know to grow into the awesome pup that we know he already is! He is eager to please you and would be the perfect student. Eckhart is very loving and super sweet. He is the gentle guy that you would fall in love with. Can you please help this sweetheart and get him out of this loud, overcrowded shelter soon? He is still pretty young and have so much life and love to give. A shelter is no place for a young pup to start out in life. He is ready to be with you for the rest of his life. He deserves it and more. Eckhart is current on vaccines and will be neutered and micro chipped upon his adoption. Unfortunately, Eckhart tested positive for heartworms. Dogs who are treated for heartworms usually go on to live long and healthy lives. Please come see him soon and get to know him better! He will be waiting for his favorite person/family in Run 26. Eckhart's ID is 662442. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. Story
This beautiful boy with gorgeous eyes is name Xander. He came to the shelter on 11/13 because he became lost on a grand adventure. No one has come to reclaim him. He is a sweet boy that needs his life turned around very soon. He is a real gentleman with a beautiful coat so he had someone in his life that took care of him. He is a young pup that will grow up a big boy so growing up in a loud, overcrowded shelter is not ideal for him to start out in life. He is very intelligent as he knows to basic commands such as sitting when asked and he may know more. He loves treats and he takes the them so nicely. He would be a wonderful student if you would take the time to teach him everything he doesn't know already. He is good in his run and when he is outside he loves to play ball. He just needs people who love him no matter where he came from, that will give him the love, respect and understanding that he deserves. This may have been the only home he has ever known. He would like to have that second chance to have a family once again and not stay in a shelter for too long. Can you help him find his way to his forever home? He would like that so much. Nice bed, lots of toys to play with, good meals and lots of love and attention from you. If you can help him make his dream come true, then he is your guy! Xander is current on vaccines, will be neutered and micro chipped upon his adoption. He is in Run 21 and his ID is 6206. Xander is only 2 years old and weighs a mere 69lbs. He is still a baby and he really doesn't deserve to start out in life in a loud, overcrowded shelter. Please give this sweet boy a solid chance. He needs you now more than ever. Remington is 8 years old. I have had him since he was a puppy. He loves attention and snuggles. As he has gotten older, he does not get along with our other dog. I am 9 months pregnant and can not be worried about the dogs with a newborn arriving shortly. He would do best in a home with no other pets. He still has a lot of love to give. It is breaking my heart having to do this

Story
A FUN, PLAYFUL & ACTIVE GUY:  Approx.  2 years old / Approx. 34 lbs.  Hi, my name is Asher!  Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control, and I’m very grateful.  The volunteers are taken with my unusual breed mix and my handsome ginger brindle coat, and compact body.  I bet you will be too! I spent some time in the prison/foster training program offsite and learned a lot! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and liked them, though I can be barky when I see other dogs – not to worry – my trainer will show you how to introduce me to other dogs, so let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so if you have older dog-smart kids, let’s meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I am a sweet guy who has earned the reputation of being ‘goofy and funny’ around the shelter.  I’m happy with a fun nature, and sure to be a great addition to your family.  I am full of playful energy and am not shy about speaking my mind, so I don’t think an apartment/condo type home would be a good fit for me. I’m a lot of dog in a little package. I’m also very sweet and fun! I was a very good boy, calm and sweet for my shelter bath.  Affectionate and social, I have all the traits of a great companion. I, however, am not the kind of dog you would take to the kids’ sporting events, or a busy park, etc. since I can be reactive. / My energy level is 8-9, so I am looking for a family member who will be active with me.  • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, where I will be learning lots of great doggie commands with my trainer.  So far, I know the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘come’, ‘leave it’, ‘place’, and ‘drop it’ commands, as well as accept friendly strangers without jumping and utilize proper door etiquette.  I’m currently working on my leash manners using my gentle leader.  I get distracted by sounds I hear on my walk that I don’t recognize, so my trainer is using the ‘leave it’ command to keep me on track on our walks.  I’m very food motivated, so that makes my training fun and yummy! / I’m doing well in my little room at Mostly Mutts. / I’ve had only a couple of accidents on the shelter schedule, so I think I’ll do well in my new home once I know our schedule. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I LOVE toys and enjoy having fun with them when the volunteers break them out at the shelter.  I’d enjoy a nice, fenced yard where we can have lots of play sessions together.  When it’s time to chill, I always enjoy a good petting.  I also enjoy my walks, but I need a strong walker, as I am a strong boy and can be reactive to people and other animals on walks.  / I have been frightened by certain loud motors, the vacuum etc. so I don’t like those. Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I am looking for a dog savvy family where I will be a cherished family member!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  December 11, 2024, 6:52 am

A SWEET & ACTIVE FRIEND:  Approx. 3 years old / Approx. 38 lbs.    Hi, I’m Kaylyn!  I was rescued from animal control, and I sure am happy about that!  I’ve been enjoying my time with the nice volunteers and now I hear that I’m ready to find my new family to love and be loved by – yippie!  I’m currently in the prison/foster training program off site and learning a lot!  Please inquire at 770-272-6888 to find out when I'm available to meet. • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met some other dogs at Mostly Mutts and liked them, and I wanted to play with them too, so if you have a dog at home already who would like a playful friend, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m described as fun, playful, friendly, sweet, and active – ready to enjoy the good life with my family! I can see us going for walks, playing and discovering lots of things to do together. I was a good girl for my shelter bath and brush out too. / My energy level is 6 - 8 so I’d like to be active with my family.   • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I'm a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program, so, I've mastered the 'sit', 'stay', 'down', 'come', 'drop it', 'leave it' and 'place' commands.  I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping. I think that the stress of being at the shelter got to me, as a dog barked at me while I was on a walk and startled me, so I redirected and snapped at my walker leaving a mark on them.  / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. / I’m having some accidents on the shelter schedule, so please keep me on a good consistent take-out schedule so I can master my potty manners.   • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love to zoom around in the MM play yard with the volunteers, so I’m sure I’d enjoy a fenced yard in my new home where we can play together.  I also love playing with toys and spending time with people. / I can’t think of any dislikes but I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. A SUPER SWEET PUPPY:  Approx. 6 – 7 months old / Approx. 25 lbs. & growing Hello – I’m Sophia!  I came to Mostly Mutts with my brother, and – as two young pups, we were super happy to become part of the Mostly Mutts family!  We are getting lots of attention and great care from the awesome shelter volunteers and now we’re both ready to find families of our very own!  I’m currently in the prison/foster training program offsite and learning a lot!  Please inquire at 770-272-6888 to find out when I’m available to meet. • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I came in with a sibling and I liked the other friendly dogs I met at Mostly Mutts, so if you have a nice doggie that would like a puppy friend, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over, as I am an active and growing puppy!   • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  The volunteers describe me as a ‘total love bug’.  I truly see myself as a lap dog and have the BEST cuddle skills.  I’m super sweet and gentle with a typical friendly puppy playfulness you are sure to love.  I’m growing braver by the day with the bath sprayer and am a calm girl for the shampoo portion, which feels a lot like belly rubs and butt scratches. Lol. / My energy level is currently 4-6. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, where so far, I have learned the ‘sit’, ‘come’, and ‘down’ commands.  I look forward to learning lots more great commands with my trainer.  I’m looking for a family that will teach me everything I need to know to grow up and become a wonderful adult dog. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. / I've been having quite a few accidents on the shelter schedule.  Please continue to be consistent with me on a good schedule, so I can master my potty skills. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  As mentioned, I’m a fan of butt scratches and belly rubs!  I will ask for them by charming you with the best big, brown puppy dog eyes you’ve ever seen.  I’m not yet interested in toys, but I bet you can show me how much fun they can be. / The cars on the road scare me.  I’m still working on my leash skills, as it is new to me, so I do better in the intake back yard.  Otherwise, I can’t think of things I don’t like yet since I’m so young, but I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I've started my puppy shots, but you will have to finish these for me as I grow.  I’m also micro-chipped and spayed.  I came in with some healing boo-boos/crusting skin and thin fur but it’s healing now.  I still need medicated baths for a little longer and these can be done in my new home. If you’re ready for the fun and excitement of having a puppy as well as the training commitment, then let’s meet!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.      December 4, 2024, 7:39 am
