Story
Hello! Willie Nelson is looking for a furever home. We took him in a few years ago to help out a friend that found him malnourished. We don't know his history or his age. We suspected that he was abused. Our best guess at age is around 8-10 years old. He is a sweet, cuddly, big ol lap dog. Willie is house trained, crate trained, knows several commands (sit, stay, down, go, here, etc.), has good recall, loves to run and play but can also just chill in the yard or on the sofa with you. He is neutered and microchipped. Willie is good with our geriatric cat, however, I am not sure how he is with other cats as we have not had any others at our home. He is good with other dogs that are not aggressive. He is good with men, women, and older children (around 7-10 and up). He has no previous incidents of biting. Ideally, Willie's new home would be a place where he can get plenty of outdoor time, play time, and lots cuddles. We are rehoming due to small child and allergies.

Story
It’s not easy writing this, but I’m looking for a loving new home for Dax. Due to a demanding job that requires long hours and frequent travel, I can’t give him the consistent presence he deserves—and he’s too special to spend long stretches alone. Dax is a bulldog with a big heart and an even bigger personality. He’s incredibly lovable, easygoing, and brings a calm, steady presence to a home. He doesn’t need constant activity or high energy—he’s perfectly content with a comfortable spot to relax and someone nearby to love him. He has not been around other dogs much, so he can be a bit defensive in those situations. Because of that, Dax would truly thrive as the only pet in the home—where he can feel secure, relaxed, and be the center of attention he deserves. What makes Dax special: * Loyal and affectionate * Low-maintenance in terms of activity * Great personality—calm, steady, and loving * Perfect fit for a single-dog household This is about finding the right home, not just any

Story
AN ACTIVE & WONDERFUL FRIEND: Approx. 3 years old / Approx. 46 lbs. Hi, my name is Wilson!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control and am enjoying my time with the volunteers, who take great care of me, but nothing will beat a home and family of my own.  I spent time in the prison/foster training program off-site and learned a lot! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and liked them a lot – so much so that my trainer uses me to help other pups learn how to play! I’m an excitedly vocal player, so if you have dogs at home already that wouldn’t mind this, let’s meet!  We should also be fed separately. / We all agree that I should not live with cats. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, but I have mildly guarded my food so best no toddlers or young children that may not understand this about me.  • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a friendly, fun, and happy guy with a playful, goofy, and sweet personality who is full of love.  I have so much happy enthusiasm to share, and I did great during my bath, too - I even drank from the sprayer and handed out kisses.  I’m a chatty, vocal player who loves to “talk” while I play with both people and other dogs. It’s just my sweet way of letting you know I’m having fun!  I showed a little food guarding behavior when I first arrived, but it was very mild and is well managed after working with my trainer.  Precautions should be taken in a new environment, and my trainer will show you how to maintain what I’ve learned, so please just ask about that.  I’m a loving, affectionate boy who can’t wait to brighten your days.  I’ll need some time to adjust to my new home and will likely make a little noise until I know that I’m home and have settled in, so best no apartment. / Energy Level: 7-9. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program so I’ve learned the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands.  I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners using my EZ walk harness as well as accept nice strangers without jumping.  Mostly Mutts offers free lifetime training classes for all their adopted dogs, so let’s continue my training together. / The crate is not my favorite place, so I do some whining in there. / My potty habits are slowly improving on a good schedule. Please keep me on a consistent schedule, so that I can fully master my potty skills. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love playing with toys, especially tennis balls, and I never say no to a peanut butter treat.  I’ve destuffed a few toys and shredded a blanket, so please just watch me with these items.  Chin scratches are the best, and they always make my tail wag!  At the end of the day, being with my people is really what I’m after.  / I can’t think of any dislikes, but I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.  I recently started 2 inexpensive stress/anxiety medications to help with some mild separation anxiety that I’m experiencing.  Hopefully I will no longer need it once I’ve settled into my new home. I’m a wonderful pup looking for a wonderful family to love and be loved by!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.    May 14, 2026, 7:14 am

Story
A SWEET, PLAYFUL SENIOR FELLOW:  Approx. 9 years old / Approx. 46 lbs. Hi there, I’m Roy! I came to Mostly Mutts after finding myself at animal control - I don’t remember how I ended up there, but I’m so grateful to be safe and well cared for now. When I arrived, it was clear that I had been neglected for years as I had thin fur and some skin issues, I needed a dental cleaning and had infected ears and sore eyes. I needed bloodwork, which I received thanks to a generous grant from The Grey Muzzle Organization. I’m feeling and looking much better and ready for my next chapter! I even got to spend some time in the prison/foster training program and had a good time! I’m a sweet, hopeful guy who’s excited about the future and dreaming of a loving home and family that will take wonderful care of me. • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and like to interact a little with the more mellow dogs and I’ve been enjoying going for walks alongside my doggie friends at the shelter, so if you have a nice more mellow dog at home, let’s meet!  / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no very young kids that I may bump over or that may pull on my ears as they are sensitive or hug me which I may see as restraint.  • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  The volunteers describe me as a friendly, super playful, and smart guy who’s sweet as can be and truly a very good boy. I’ve been a calm, loving senior with great manners who listens well (and does best with gentle and kind words) and enjoys being close to the nice volunteers. I get spurts of energy that are so fun. I’m especially good for my medicated showers - I stay calm and sweet, even lifting my paws for massages and rinsing. A walk-in shower with a sprayer is just my style as I don’t want to get in a tub, and I enjoy the gentle massage that comes with it. / Energy Level: 4-6.       • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program, so, I've mastered the 'sit', 'stay', 'down', 'come', 'drop it', 'leave it' and 'place' commands. I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping.  Let's continue my training as there are more classes I can take through the free lifetime training that Mostly Mutts offers for all their rescue dogs. / My crate manners have been good, though I don’t seem to really need a crate. / I’m doing well with my potty manners on the shelter schedule and did well in the prison/foster training program, and a temp. foster home I visited, too.   • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love spending time with the nice volunteers, playing with my toys (and I’ll happily drop them for a treat!), and getting scratches - I can never get enough!  I’m a big fan of tough toys since I tend to make quick work of the soft ones, but that’s okay because the hard toys are my absolute favorites anyway!  I’m sure we’ll find lots of other things we will enjoy doing together in my new home. / I am skittish when anyone uses harsh words or corrections with me, so I want a kind and gentle family that’s more about positive reinforcement.  I’m not a fan of those pesky eye drops.  I also don’t like to be restrained during my vetting, so I wear a muzzle to help things go smoothly, and my trainer is helping me build confidence and comfort with it.  Otherwise, like all dogs, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.   • MEDICAL:  I’m current on my annual vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. I also had a thorough dental cleaning, so my mouth is fresh and healthy again!  I experience dry eyes from time to time, but I’m not a fan of receiving eyedrops.  I arrived with chronic-untreated ear infections. I’ve had several rounds of cleaning and medications, but this will likely be an ongoing condition due to the past neglect. I’ll need my family to stay proactive about my ear care, which will include some sedated treatments - just ask for more details. I’m currently receiving weekly medicated baths and taking fish oil supplements as my skin and coat continue to improve, and those baths can easily be continued at home in a shower setting. I also take an allergy/itch medication called Zenrelia to help keep my skin comfortable.           I’m a wonderful fellow looking to soak up the good life with a kind and gentle family and to be well taken care of and loved. My adoption fee is $100.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  May 14, 2026, 7:14 am

Story
AN ACTIVE & FUN FRIEND:  Approx. 5 years old / Approx. 44 lbs. Hi, my name is Victor!  Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control, and I am so happy to be soaking up all the love and attention from the volunteers.  They are here every day to be sure I am a happy, healthy guy ready to meet my new family.  Well, that time has come, and I am ready for my ‘happily ever after’.  Come meet me soon!  I got to participate in the prison/foster training program and learned a lot! ·   OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and do not like them, so I’d like to be your only dog. / Cats unknown. / I met a nice boy and a girl around 10 years old at Mostly Mutts and I was a bit all over them in a happy & excited way – being a bit mouthy and chasing them when they ran, so kids 15+ may be a better match for me.  Let’s meet!  Also, it would be best that kids do not walk me due to my strength and dislike for other dogs. ·   PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I am a super active and fun guy with a friendly and playful demeanor.  My affectionate nature has charmed the volunteers, and they refer to me as ‘a super sweet boy’.  In fact, my whole-body wags with excitement when I know it’s my turn to spend time with them.   I am a perfect angel for bathtime, calm as can be, soaking up all the one-on-one time and my bather says I have the most beautiful eyes.  I can get a little mouthy when I’m excited, and that playful behavior has occasionally resulted in some unintentional, never-to-be-mean skin grabs.  I’m very easy to redirect, and the trainers will happily show you the techniques that work with me.  Social, loving and energetic, I’d be happiest with an owner that matches my energy level and has time to be active with me. / My energy level is 6-8+, so let’s be active and have fun together! ·   SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program so I’ve learned the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands.  I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners using my gentle leader as well as accept nice strangers without jumping.  I also know some silly commands such as ‘bang bang’ and I ‘play dead’. Mostly Mutts offers free lifetime training classes for all their adopted dogs, so let’s continue my training together. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts as well as in the three temp. foster homes I visited. / I had good potty habits in the prison/foster training program, as well as in three temp. fosters home I visited, alerting them when I needed to go potty, so hopefully that will be the case in my new home, too!  ·   LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love people and enjoy any activity with them – the more activity the better!  Affectionate and loving, I also put energy into giving kisses, cuddles and happy tail wags, and I’m a big fan of belly rubs and playing with toys, especially balls, rope toys and bones.  I love to get my energy out by playing with tennis balls in the play yard with the volunteers.  Cheese and peanut butter make for some yummy snacks in my book.  I also like to go for car rides, so let’s go lots of fun places together!  / I don’t care for other dogs, sirens, aerosol sprays or thunder (but the vacuum and hairdryer noises don’t bother me) and I’m not too sure about motorcycles passing so perhaps a quieter walking area would be nice.  I can’t think of any other dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. ·   MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.  I have experienced a few allergy flare-ups and Mostly Mutts has recently started me on an allergy medication called Zenrelia to help with that.  Just ask about this to see how it’s working for me.  My ears get sensitive at times, as I have had ear infections in the past, but I do well for my ear cleanings, so please monitor this.  I have luxating patellas in my rear legs which do not require surgery at this time.  At times I limp, but I don’t let it slow me down as I’m very active, and I’ve started an anti-inflammatory medication to help, so just ask about this!  I am looking for a wonderful home with a loving family for life!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.   I am looking for a wonderful home with a loving family for life!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga. March 8, 2026, 7:16 am

Story
AN ACTIVE & HAPPY FRIEND:  Approx. 5 years old / Approx. 50 lbs. Hello – I’m Holly Hobby!  Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control after I came to them from a bad situation.  Animal control started me on the road to health and happiness, and Mostly Mutts has continued that good care!  I got to spend over a month in a wonderful foster home and had a blast, and now I’m back at the Mostly Mutts shelter with the nice volunteers.  I’ve got some scars, and healed wounds from my past, but it doesn’t bother me and I hope you won’t mind either.  I spent some time in the prison/foster training program off-site and learned a lot! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I’ve met dogs at Mostly Mutts and liked them and I’m a tad vocal when I play.  If you have a nice dog at home that wouldn’t mind my vocal style of play, let’s meet with my trainer and see if we can be pals.  / Cats unknown. / I really liked the 3-year-old in my foster home, though when he got excited, I did, too, and I jumped up a bit, so perhaps kids a bit older would be best.  Let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a super sweet girl with a big, happy heart - truly a loving girl who will happily stay by your side for attention, playtime, and lots of joyful moments together.  When I see my people, I am just full of wiggles, cuddles, and tail wags!  I bark a little when my people leave so apartment / condo living may not be the best fit, but I do settle in after a bit and am happy entertain myself while you are away.   In the prison/foster training program, it took a few days to get used to the routine, but once I did, I was very happy to be here!  My foster reports that they love me and that I’m a great dog – I hope you think so, too! / My energy level is 7-9 so I’ll want a family that will be active with me.      • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program so I’ve learned the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands.  I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping.  I use a slow feeder to slow me down when I’m eating.  I’m a smart girl who is also food and treat motivated, so much so that I can be distracted by treats, so maybe let’s use praise for training instead of a treat reward.  I would like my furever family to continue my training and develop a consistent routine for us to follow - so let's continue my training together with the free lifetime training classes that Mostly Mutts offers for all their adopted dogs! / My crate manners are good in my foster home, and I see my crate as a safe place.  I’ll run to it if I am afraid.  I’m also very willing to sleep next to you!  / My potty manners are good in the prison/foster training program as well as in my foster home. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I’m a true lover of people and can’t wait for lots of fun adventures with you!  I love going on walks, playing fetch, riding in the car, and spending time outside with my family burning off some energy.  But don’t worry, I’m just as much of a cuddle bug, ready for an evening movie on the couch with you and soaking up rubs.  Giving and receiving affection makes me the happiest girl!  I do like to sit by the window to watch the world go by . . . but the best view is me curled up next to you!  / Though vacuuming and mopping don’t bother me at all, some other loud noises like the lawn edger do frighten me as does the dark.  I believe I’ll adjust to these once I’m settled in my new home.  I’m not a fan of being alone a lot and when we’re on walks, if other dogs bark at me – hold on to my leash so I don’t bolt away.  Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.               • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I have moderate tartar on my teeth, so my adoptive family should consult with their vet and consider a dental cleaning in the future. As stated above, I’ve got some old wounds and scars.  I am looking for a wonderful home with loving family for life that will treasure me!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  May 14, 2026, 7:14 am
