Story
adoption donation : $750 weight 84 lbs  Age 2 years           Sweet Lovey was found wandering alone at a truckstop in a rural part of northern Mississippi, likely dumped by his owners. When the Wags director tried to coax him to come to her, she didn’t have to worry, Lovey immediately tried to climb into her truck, his whole body wiggling with excitement.       Despite his sad beginning Lovey is the happiest dog, he is just having a blast playing with the other dogs at Wags and is a mushy, affectionate, loving boy, thus his name, Lovey!       Lovey likes toys and balls and would love to curl up and nap at your feet. He is house trained at Wags but like any rescue may need a refresher course while he adjusts to a new home.      Lovey is neutered and up-to-date on his vaccines and is heartworm negative. He is timid at first, but he warms up quickly, he walks well on a leash indoors, but for some reason outdoors, he is more hesitant to walk on a leash. Ideally, he would love a home with a fenced yard or an adopter who would work with him on leash training.    Lovey is a sweet loving  boy who will make a wonderful family dog.    Wags is a struggling 501(c) 3 where one woman in rural Mississippi takes care of about 150 homeless and stray dogs.  Adoption donations are the only source of funding for the rescue. Adoption fee includes the transport from Mississippi, vaccines, microchip and spay and neuter at one of the clinics we use. For more information on adopting Lovey or any of our many Wags dogs please email mariaeftimiades@yahoo.com    January 28, 2025, 11:56 am

Story
Meet Walter, a 5-year-old, 56 lb. bulldog mix with a heart as big as his adorable, snuggly self. He was surrendered to the shelter in August where he sat for five months before we pulled him. Now Walter is in a loving foster home awaiting his happily furever after! This gentle, loving soul has a moderate to low energy level, making him the perfect companion for cozy days on the couch or leisurely walks around town. Whether it’s a pile of blankets, a comfy dog bed, or your lap (his favorite spot), Walter is happiest when he’s snuggled up with his person. He is a people-lover through and through. He adores everyone he meets, including kids, and is currently thriving in his foster home alongside other dogs and a tween. His friendly demeanor and calm nature make him an ideal fit for any family dynamic. Food is one of Walter’s favorite things, and he’s very motivated by it! Despite his enthusiasm for snacks, he’s impressively well-mannered—he never jumps or snatches and listens well to commands. He’s housetrained, already knows “sit,” and is working on mastering “down.” Walking with Walter is a breeze too—he doesn’t pull on the leash and enjoys a nice, relaxed stroll. If you’re looking for a sweet, quiet, and endlessly affectionate dog who will be your ultimate cuddle buddy, Walter is your guy. His adoption fee is $400 and Walter is vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, and will be neutered next month. If you are interested in this lovely lad, please complete the application at form.jotform.com/200883908893166. For questions, email info@happilyfureverafter.org.

Story
Sweet little Eddie is around a year old, weighs around 50 lbs, and is an absolute gem. He is shy (especially with men) but becomes affectionate and silly once he gets comfortable. He is smart. active but not wild at all, and eager to please. He likes pup cups, is good in the car, and is doing great with his leash skills. He went on a foster field trip and had a bath and was great for that, ignored the cat he met, and napped while his Field Trip Foster did a little work. She gave him all A's on his report card for the day and said he is a certified Very Good Boy! This perfect pup is going to make a welcome addition to his new home. Eddie is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. All dogs 6 month + receive a Proheart 6 injection at the time of their heartworm test. This provides heartworm prevention for 6 months from the time of that injection. This dog has tested negative for heartworms. Visit our website to see our weekend Events here! Pups with the designated “meet me” next to their names are in CT and ready to attend adoption events. Please check with your adoption coordinator if you are interested in a specific dog prior to coming to an event, as a dog's availability to attend can change at any time. We can not guarantee approval on site at the events, so we recommend applying ahead of time. You can apply at the event, but the application process may not be able to be completed the same day. If you are not pre-approved, you are still welcome to come and meet pup’s at the event! The adoption fee is $500 which includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccinations, flea/tick and heartworm preventatives, and the mandatory CT HB 5368 fee. This dog tested *** for heartworms. If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get a confirmation. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. Story
Tippy is looking good in her pink, she is a member of the Mason Hall Gang but she’s only guilty of giving kisses and stealing hearts. She is looking to find a forever home of her own and settle down. She loves to play with toys, her siblings and people. This puppy Is spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, treated for all of the intestinal parasites, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Because intestinal parasites are cyclical, your puppy may need additional treatment once you get him/her home. This is common and nothing to be alarmed about. Puppies and dogs need to be treated periodically for parasites throughout their entire lives. Visit our website to see our weekend Events here! The adoption fee is $600 which includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccinations, flea/tick and heartworm preventatives, and the mandatory CT HB 5368 fee. More and more of our adopters are having fun with DNA tests on their pups. You might ask yourself why our breed guess is varying degrees of difference from the DNA tests. Most of our puppies are rescued from high kill shelters or other abandonment situations and we have no info on parents. When we rescue puppies that have no background info, we make our very best educated guess as to breed mix and age. Our guesstimate comes from years and years and years of animal welfare work and training, but our guesses won't always agree with your vet, your neighbor, your DNA test, etc. The most important thing to know about your puppy's breed mix is that most likely he/she is a Super Lovable Mutt made of many many many different breeds. If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at the Woburn MA isolation facility.
