Forever home needed! Kiowa is a ~6 year old, ~80 lb Malamute/Husky mix. She is very sweet, playful and friendly! Requirements: -Fully fenced yard 6ft+ outside of the city (not available for adoption in King County) -Breed experience Kiowa is a great girl ready to join her active forever family. Kiowa is smart and loves to play! She would make a great adventure buddy. Though she is active, she has a great demeanor and can relax with her people after some activity. Kiowa is playful and would do best with another dog in the home. She does better with males so we are looking for a male dog of like size in the home for her companion! She is used to spending her time in a play yard with other playful huskies! Kiowa is spayed, microchipped and UTD on vaccinations. Her adoption fee is $450.

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Introducing Ghost! This stunning sweetheart is a playful and loving 5-year-old Malamute mix who is looking for his forever home! Ghost is incredibly friendly, happy and loves to play around outside with his people! He is a leaner and loves pets and attention too. Ghost walks well on leash but can get excited and pull at times. He is large, around 75-80lbs and will need an adopter who can handle his size, strength, and his desire to be cuddled up in your arms! Ghost has done well with other dogs in our care, and actually came from a home where he lived with two other large dogs. He would do well with another large laid back dog in the home or could do fine as an only dog soaking up all of the love and attention. No cats or small animals for him. He will do best in a home where his family is not gone long hours. Ghost is an active dog who will make an AMAZING adventure companion for any lucky outdoorsy family. He would love a home that takes him on many adventures as well as has a large yard for him to run and explore. Although he is a super friendly and cuddly dude, he can be strong and bouncy and needs some work on his overall obedience skills as he has been living in a commercial kennel for some time, so we are recommending an adult only home or a home with kids over the age of 12. He will also require a fence that is at least 6ft tall. Ghost is going to make an incredible addition to any lucky household that adopts him! Ghost is UTD on shots, neutered and microchipped. His adoption fee is $400.

FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Introducing Kenji! He is a 3-year-old, 50lb Malamute/Siberian Husky mix who came to us from an overcrowded shelter in CA. He is an awesome dog with stunning blue eyes and a vibrant red coat! He walks well on leash and doesn’t pull too much, however, could benefit from more leash work and basic obedience training. He is treat motivated and takes treats gently. Kenji has done well with other dogs in our care and would make a great additional dog to a home or he would be fine as an only dog with continued socialization. He is very sweet, loving, and will be an extremely loyal companion to whoever adopts him. Kenji has a good amount of energy to him and would love a household that provides him with an active lifestyle, however, he is also able to be a total couch potato. Story
Aqua is a three year old Alaskan Malamute born in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He is extremely friendly and loving towards people, even strangers on the street. Currently, he is known as "the neighborhood's dog" since all of the kids in the neighborhood have played with him since he was a puppy. The only thing he loves more than people is bananas. No seriously, if given the choice between meat and bananas, he would choose bananas immediately. Like all snow dogs, he has both strength and stamina to keep up with an active owner. Luckily, his favorite hobby is napping around the house all day. An ideal adopter would be someone who can go on daily walks with him and have a lively household. He wants nothing more than just being with his humans. An extra bonus would be a sufficiently large backyard for him to explore and sniff. He is also fully crate trained, potty trained and knows the standard American Kennel Club commands and hand signals.

Story
Meet our amazing fluffer boy, Kaii. He's 5-6 yrs old, 80 lbs with the most fantastic fluffy tail. He has beautiful medium energy loves to go on walks, hikes and ready for all adventures. He's a big fan of his squeaky ball, belly rubs and his treats are a must! This smart boy will sit, shake and lay down on command and will surely learn more with treats and training. Kaii can be selective with dogs, especially males, so it's probably best he be a solo dog in the home. Here’s what Kaii’s foster has to say about him, “Kai is a lover. He mostly likes to snuggle or relax but loves his ball and squeaky toys too. He gets a little scared if he is sleeping and is reached towards so talking to him first is the best way to go. He gets a little jealous of other animals after he gets comfortable so being the only dog might the best for him. He does not like cats and has a stong prey drive. He isnt really an escape artist and doesnt try to hop fences or dig but will go for a run if the front door is left open. He has so much love to give and is a pretty great dog. Doesnt seem to have separation anxiety and just chills out. I do great with older kids but due to my getting scared if woke up out of a sleep, a home with older kids would be a better fit. He has been staying (fostered) in a home with kids from 12 to 18.” He would be an awesome best friend to have by your side so get your application in ASAP. He's neutered, vaccinated and chipped so he's ready and hoping you pick him! Currently being fostered in Salem, Oregon.

He has done well with other dogs his size here at the shelter but the rest of his history is unknown. Pilchuck weighs 80 pounds.Wandering Rover Report: Pilchuck is a handsome guy - nicely proportioned with super thick fur. He is also very athletic. He takes a little time to warm up to you but eventually appreciates attention. We did a hike to Heather Lake and he was all business when it came to completing the trail. Other hikers mentioned what a good looking dog he is. Pilchuck interacted well with people. The only times he pulled hard on the leash was when we met other dogs. Otherwise the leash pulling was manageable. He did not seem aggressive to other dogs but was very interested in them. Had a great day with Pilchuck and would definitely take him out for Wandering Rover again. Great dog!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.KANGA  thrives on adventure and would love an active adopter who will take him on adventures and give him plenty of play time! Kanga is a loyal guy and will be a great companion for someone. He LOVES the snow in the winter and to swim in the summer.  His number one favorite activity (even more than walks and treats) is going for car rides! He likes feeling the wind in his face through an open window (car surfing). Kanga is incredibly observant and curious. Kanga’s comfort with people has grown significantly while in rescue. He does need a little time to build trust, but eventually he will follow you around and give you kisses! He is also quite affectionate and loyal to those he bonds with. Kanga has excellent house manners and is happy to chill on his bed or lay beside you as you work. He has basic training and knows: sit, down, come, get it, stay, and release and is ready for the next level of training. He is very treat motivated and responds well to a clicker. Kanga just needs to know you can be counted on to pay attention to his physical cues when he’s feeling overwhelmed. Kanga would do best in a home setting with a secure yard and would prefer to be your only pet. He might do well with savvy teens as long as they are aware of Kanga’s “dog language” and can give him space when he needs it.  Are you the active, patient, forever home that Kanga is seeking? Kanga is currently enjoying the amenities of our Malley Valley doggie resort.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 11, 2024, 9:23 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Little Miss SHELBY is a sweetheart with a big smile and a nonstop tail wag!  Based on her size, we expect she is a malamute and husky mix, bringing the best of both breeds.  She knows basic commands, "sit", "down" and "wait" but could use further training.  She is food motivated which will help when teaching her new commands and tricks.  SHELBY is good on the leash and will enjoy joining you on all of your outdoor adventures.  She is a  loving, playful, active girl who generally does well with other dogs once they have established who is boss in the house (hint: it's her!). SHELBY has food allergies that will require a special diet and lifetime of medication.  Therefore, she needs a family that can afford her medications, special food and has the time to administrator them. SHELBY would love for you to open up your home to her and she promises to not steal the couch...well, at least not the whole couch! SHELBY is currently being fostered by a loving family in Eastern Washington.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 11, 2024, 9:23 pm

Story
Meet Kai, an 8-year-old, 89 lb, Akita with a heart as big as his paws. This well-mannered gentleman excels in house manners, already knows how to use the bathroom outside, and is proudly crate trained. He enjoys his daily walks where he gets to smell lots of cool smells and meet new people. He also relishes his nap times (if you’ve got a rug, he’ll be so pleased). Though he’s not a fan of baths, Kai is a champ when it comes to being brushed and having his nails trimmed. He does eat and drink pretty fast - so he prefers puzzle feeders and slow drinking, anti-spilling water bowls to keep his tummy from getting upset. Always eager to greet you with a wagging tail at the door, Kai is a loving companion who brings joy and warmth to every day! Kai is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $300.
