Story
Animal Profile: Ace is a 10-month-old mixed breed (likely German Shepherd with Malamute) who was acquired as a baby puppy by a teen off Craigslist who quickly learned his family was not interested in having a puppy but hasn't been able to rehome him. Ace has been living on a small balcony day and night, except when a concerned neighbor takes him on walks or to the dog park. The concerned neighbor reached out for help rehoming. We will share more about Ace once we get to know him in foster care.  Evaluation Notes: Evaluating Ace we quickly decided we need to help this large friendly puppy. Ace is well fed and should lose some weight to decrease stress on his joints as he's a very large breed mix and likely to be 100lbs or more as an adult. Ace is confident and not at all nervous meeting new people. He's friendly and social toward other dogs. In response to a snarky male, he offered a play bow. Ace has no leash manners (pulls on his harness) but was quick to respond to leash training with a slip lead. He would be a quick study as he's eager to please and offers strong engagement. Ace could live in a home with dogs or kids; he's not been evaluated with cats and looks like a mix who would do best without cats, but hard to say without testing that specifically. Ace is very comfortable with handling all over his body -- looking in his mouth, ears, touching paws, manipulating body, etc. This young boy deserves way more attention and activity than he's currently getting.  Foster Update:  Ace is friendly and eager to meet everyone! He’s an energetic young pup, but will settle and lie next to you especially if pets are involved. He loves other dogs and to play, but is young and still learning to take ques from other dogs so will likely do best with other friendly, playful dogs or as an only dog where he can soak up all the attention in his forever home. Ace is working on his leash manners and will pull, especially when he sees little critters outside. He has responded well to a gentle leader head harness in his foster home and will benefit from ongoing leash training. Ace prefers to be with his people and can be a bit vocal in his crate at first. Given his breed, size, and vocal nature we are not considering apartments for Ace. This sweet, fluffy boy would love an active family who can spend time with him. He rides well in the car and will make a great adventure parnter! Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, negative heartworm test, health certificate, and microchip with lifetime registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization. Apply online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application  December 19, 2024, 12:58 pm

My name is Duke, and I’m a young Alaskan Malamute with a heart as big as my paws. My journey started with a little hardship, but I’ve come so far, and I’m ready to share my playful, loving nature with someone special—maybe you! 🐶Personality🐶 I’m the kind of dog who makes friends wherever I go. Whether it’s a stranger or someone I’ve known for a while, I love to greet everyone with a wagging tail and a gentle nuzzle. My favorite way to show affection is to roll over and let you rub my belly—sometimes even on our very first meeting! Despite my size, I have a sweet, goofy charm that makes me hard to resist. People say I’m like the lovable class clown because I always manage to bring smiles to everyone around me. 🔋My Energy Level & Walks🚶 Exploring the outdoors is my favorite thing to do! Walks are a chance for me to stretch my legs and satisfy my curiosity. Sometimes, I get so excited about all the new smells and sights that I might pull on the leash a bit, but with a little guidance, I know I’ll get better. I’m also great in the car—I can hop in and out on my own and settle down quietly during the ride. Whether it’s a trip to the park or a weekend adventure, I’m always ready to go! 🏠Life at Home🛋️ At home, I’m a sweet and loving companion. I’m happy to use indoor pads or go outside for bathroom breaks, but I’ll count on you to keep my space tidy so I can avoid any accidental messes. I’m curious about everything, especially things on counters or shelves, so you might catch me sneaking a peek at what’s up there! I’m always up for mealtime and treats—it’s one of my favorite parts of the day. I’m polite when it comes to sharing food and toys, but I’m very enthusiastic about eating, so feeding time is always an exciting event for me! One of my quirks is that I like to talk in my own special way. Whether it’s a little howl to say hello when you come home or a playful “woof” to ask for attention, I just love expressing myself. ❤️My Ideal Home🏠 I dream of a home filled with love, activity, and understanding. Here’s what I’m hoping for in my forever family: • Active Lifestyle: I thrive with plenty of outdoor time, walks, and adventures. • Gentle Patience: I’m still learning the ropes, and with your guidance, I’ll be the best companion ever. • Companionship: I adore being around people and will happily keep you company wherever you go. 💌Last Message💌 If you’re looking for a loyal, fun-loving companion with a big heart and an even bigger personality, I might be the perfect fit for you. Let’s start this amazing journey together—I can’t wait to meet you! With love and tail wags, Duke 🐾 📺 Videos📺 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cb0x-MWUe-0&list=PLIsLTtIpe3Jxw2A9wUxhLxBOlewgf2iu-

Story
Hank was rescued in September 2021, but needs to be in a home that can give all the attention he needs now that we’re having a human baby. He is known to knock children down and he doesn’t get along with our parents dog. He has never bitten a person and absolutely loves people. He just needs to live a relaxed lifestyle during his senior years. He is a wonderful dog and is a big lazy guy who loves sleeping.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Check Me out ! This charming 9-year-old dog is adapting to his new life in the US and requires a loving environment to support his recovery. He was found on a dirt road with ropes and chains wrapped around him. He was severely neglected when a good Samaritan scooped him up to bring to to animal control to be put down when they asked our rescue to step in. He is friendly with both dogs and cats. He is very mellow ,but would LOVE a home with a yard to sunbathe and people who are around throughout the day for snuggles. He is around 60 pounds of love! He is apart of our AMAZING GRAY program where his needs are covered for life with the rescue. If you can provide a foster or forever home, he would love to show you how sweet his soul is. He is rediscovering indoor living, enjoys spending time in a yard, and would benefit from a foster who works from home or is often present to help establish a routine. He loves to follow his humans around. He enjoys car rides but takes a minute to settle. This sweet boy is ready for a loving warm place for the holidays today!    Apply to foster or adopt today! Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Introducing this handsome pup, Harley! He is a 4-year-old, 48lb Alaskan Malamute who came to us with his brother, Chevy, as an owner surrender due to his owner no longer being able to care for both of them. Harley is an awesome dog! He is super sweet, loving, gentle, and great with other dogs. He and his brother spend their days in a play yard playing with a few of our other friendly dogs. He walks very well on leash and loves to be close to his handler. He also knows a few tricks and basic commands already. Harley has been in a home before and is housetrained. He does great being groomed and overall, just loves anything that has to do with being near his person. He misses being in a home and hopes to find his forever home soon! Harley is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $450.
