Story
Oggie Doggie is a 4 year old Pure Bred Alaskan Malamute. When we say he is the best boy EVER, we can not stress it enough. In typical Malamute fashion, this boy is a LOVE. He has yet to meet a stranger and also does well with other dogs and grew up in a home with a cat. He is crate trained and although he does not have any formal training, he walks well on leash and is very well behaved. Oggie grew up in Texas and the Summer heat is cutting back on his exercise and daily outside activities. He is looking for a home in cooler temps and would be an amazing hiking companion.

Story
Animal Profile: Ace is a 10-month-old mixed breed (likely German Shepherd with Malamute) who was acquired as a baby puppy by a teen off Craigslist who quickly learned his family was not interested in having a puppy but hasn't been able to rehome him. Ace has been living on a small balcony day and night, except when a concerned neighbor takes him on walks or to the dog park. The concerned neighbor reached out for help rehoming. We will share more about Ace once we get to know him in foster care.  Evaluation Notes: Evaluating Ace we quickly decided we need to help this large friendly puppy. Ace is well fed and should lose some weight to decrease stress on his joints as he's a very large breed mix and likely to be 100lbs or more as an adult. Ace is confident and not at all nervous meeting new people. He's friendly and social toward other dogs. In response to a snarky male, he offered a play bow. Ace has no leash manners (pulls on his harness) but was quick to respond to leash training with a slip lead. He would be a quick study as he's eager to please and offers strong engagement. Ace could live in a home with dogs or kids; he's not been evaluated with cats and looks like a mix who would do best without cats, but hard to say without testing that specifically. Ace is very comfortable with handling all over his body -- looking in his mouth, ears, touching paws, manipulating body, etc. This young boy deserves way more attention and activity than he's currently getting.  Foster Update:  Ace is friendly and eager to meet everyone! He’s an energetic young pup, but will settle and lie next to you especially if pets are involved. He loves other dogs and to play, but is young and still learning to take ques from other dogs so will likely do best with other friendly, playful dogs or as an only dog where he can soak up all the attention in his forever home. Ace is working on his leash manners and will pull, especially when he sees little critters outside. He has responded well to a gentle leader head harness in his foster home and will benefit from ongoing leash training. Ace prefers to be with his people and can be a bit vocal in his crate at first. Given his breed, size, and vocal nature we are not considering apartments for Ace. This sweet, fluffy boy would love an active family who can spend time with him. He rides well in the car and will make a great adventure parnter! Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, negative heartworm test, health certificate, and microchip with lifetime registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization. Apply online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application  December 28, 2024, 12:56 pm

Story
Meet our amazing fluffer boy, Kaii. He's 5-6 yrs old, 80 lbs with the most fantastic fluffy tail. He has beautiful medium energy loves to go on walks, hikes and ready for all adventures. He's a big fan of his squeaky ball, belly rubs and his treats are a must! This smart boy will sit, shake and lay down on command and will surely learn more with treats and training. Kaii can be selective with dogs, especially males, so it's probably best he be a solo dog in the home. Here’s what Kaii’s foster has to say about him, “Kai is a lover. He mostly likes to snuggle or relax but loves his ball and squeaky toys too. He gets a little scared if he is sleeping and is reached towards so talking to him first is the best way to go. He gets a little jealous of other animals after he gets comfortable so being the only dog might the best for him. He does not like cats and has a stong prey drive. He isnt really an escape artist and doesnt try to hop fences or dig but will go for a run if the front door is left open. He has so much love to give and is a pretty great dog. Doesnt seem to have separation anxiety and just chills out. I do great with older kids but due to my getting scared if woke up out of a sleep, a home with older kids would be a better fit. He has been staying (fostered) in a home with kids from 12 to 18.” He would be an awesome best friend to have by your side so get your application in ASAP. He's neutered, vaccinated and chipped so he's ready and hoping you pick him! Currently being fostered in Salem, Oregon.

Forever home needed! Kiowa is a ~6 year old, ~80 lb Malamute/Husky mix. She is very sweet, playful and friendly! Requirements: -Fully fenced yard 6ft+ outside of the city (not available for adoption in King County) -Breed experience Kiowa is a great girl ready to join her active forever family. Kiowa is smart and loves to play! She would make a great adventure buddy. Though she is active, she has a great demeanor and can relax with her people after some activity. Kiowa is playful and would do best with another dog in the home. She does better with males so we are looking for a male dog of like size in the home for her companion! She is used to spending her time in a play yard with other playful huskies! Kiowa is spayed, microchipped and UTD on vaccinations. Her adoption fee is $450.

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Introducing Ghost! This stunning sweetheart is a playful and loving 5-year-old Malamute mix who is looking for his forever home! Ghost is incredibly friendly, happy and loves to play around outside with his people! He is a leaner and loves pets and attention too. Ghost walks well on leash but can get excited and pull at times. He is large, around 75-80lbs and will need an adopter who can handle his size, strength, and his desire to be cuddled up in your arms! Ghost has done well with other dogs in our care, and actually came from a home where he lived with two other large dogs. He would do well with another large laid back dog in the home or could do fine as an only dog soaking up all of the love and attention. No cats or small animals for him. He will do best in a home where his family is not gone long hours. Ghost is an active dog who will make an AMAZING adventure companion for any lucky outdoorsy family. He would love a home that takes him on many adventures as well as has a large yard for him to run and explore. Although he is a super friendly and cuddly dude, he can be strong and bouncy and needs some work on his overall obedience skills as he has been living in a commercial kennel for some time, so we are recommending an adult only home or a home with kids over the age of 12. He will also require a fence that is at least 6ft tall. Ghost is going to make an incredible addition to any lucky household that adopts him! Ghost is UTD on shots, neutered and microchipped. His adoption fee is $400.
