Story
`It`s a beautiful day in the neighbourhood…` to give our North Shelter Region a call and find out more about this handsome boy - Mr. Rogers! Mr. Rogers came to us about 1 month ago as a stray. Unfortunately his previous owners did not claim him, but that means you`re in luck to bring him home!Mr. Rogers is a 5 year old, male neutered Alaskan Malamute. He`s got the most dazzling eyes and a wonderful personality to match. He`s a pretty laid-back guy when it comes to most things, but tends to pick and choose his dog friends carefully. Don`t get us wrong - this boy may love to snuggle up on the couch with you but he certainly isn`t afraid to show you how cool his Zoomies look in the snow! Being a long-haired breed, you can expect your house and clothes to be adorned in lots of fluff (Mr. Rogers thinks it adds character!) so regular brushing and grooming of his coat is recommended. Mr. Rogers does have some medical needs that our shelter team is happy to discuss more in depth with his potential adopters. If you think Mr. Rogers is the right dog for you, please give our North Shelter a call at (416) 338-8723 from 10:30am - 6:30pm to find out how to bring this cutie home.Thank you for your interest!

🖤ADOPT MAY-WEST🖤 F | 9Y | 25.1 KG | HUSKY MALAMUTE MIX | UTD on shots | Too be spayed | Housebroken | Crate Training in process | Male dogs preferred | Most likely no cats | Kid-tested | Fostered in Toronto Miss May-West is the sweetest, most distinguished lady you'll ever meet! She loves greeting new people with kisses and loves everyone in her family. After her long-standing career as the bestest sled dog, this lady is finally able to relax and enjoy retirement. May loves to be pet, especially belly scratches and will let you know if you stop too early with a reproachful look. May has been very brave in adjusting to her new life but will benefit from a forever family willing to work on building her confidence. She settles very well inside the house, but that doesn't mean she doesn't need a lot of walks! May loves to go to the park and sniff all the new, interesting things in her environment. She is very intuitive with training and is a certified prodigy in learning new commands - she learned to sit and come on the third day with her foster family! May West has briefly interacted with other dogs, and preferred males to females - with proper introductions, she would most likely do well in a home with a male dog. Fosters have noticed that she loves squirrel hunting, and would probably do best in a home with no small animals. May West has done well with children in the past and, with the right introduction and care, she may continue to do well with your little ones. May's perfect family would be content to relax at home with her but also willing to take her on adventures outside or some sprinting in the park. She loves her routine of training, cuddling, then a nap. Her forever family will encourage her to continue to become more confident and work on her training, even when some of the husky shows through. If this laid-back, gentle lady sounds like your perfect dog, apply now -> https://www.barkatthemoonrescue.ca/dog-adoption-application

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.DOLCE hails from Sandy Lake in Northern Ontario and came south with her sister (Gabbana) to find her forever home. She’s spayed, had her 3 sets of puppy vaccines including rabies, a microchip and been deemed a healthy girl by her vet. We have no information on either parent so the breeds we have her listed as are just a guess as is the weight we think she’ll grow to be. This lovely, gentle girl is so quiet and loving and just loves to be cuddled up to you. She loves her humans and follows them around wherever they go. She’s easy to please, playful and one if the best puppies her foster has ever had.  DOLCE is crate trained and will sleep quietly in it all night long.  Her housetraining is going really well and she hasn’t had an accident in the home for a couple of weeks now. She really enjoys going on her walks and gets excited when she knows she’s going on one. Like all puppies though, she excitedly pulls on her leash so leash training is definitely required for her. She has several dogs and kittens in her foster home and gets along well with them all. She would definitely suit being with another dog as long as it wasn’t too dominant of a dog as she’s very submissive. Even with the dogs in her home she’ll just lay down on her back when one of them approaches her but she’ll then get up and play with them. She loves the kittens but has been known to chase them around but not in a mean way at all. She would do fine as an only dig too as long as she’s not left alone for long periods of time. She has really good manners and always sits for her meals and eats very gently. She takes her treats “gentle” and can do shake-a-paw. She’s very smart and a quick learner so will be quite easy to train on more commands.  An ideal home for DOLCE would be one with an active family that loves to go on walks, hiking on the trails and generally enjoys the outdoors. She travels well in a vehicle so would always be up for an adventure or two as well. She loves to run and play so a fenced-in yard is required for her. We do need children to be aged 6 and up and be loving, caring and gentle towards animals. They must also be prepared for puppy antics such as chasing and nibbling on fingers and toes. Puppies are fun and cute but also require a lot of work, patience and dedication to training. We do need her adopter to be in agreement to sign her up for obedience/puppy training in order to adopt her.  If DOLCE sounds like the girl for you and you’d like to meet her then please submit the adoption application. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 4, 2024, 1:30 pm
