🐶 Quick Facts 🐾 • Name: Duke • Age: Under 2 years old (estimated) • Gender: Male • Neutered: Yes • Breed: Alaskan Malamute • Color: White & Black • Weight: 23 kg • Height: 60–70 cm (shoulder height when standing) • Microchip Number: 410 097 800 546 264 • Health History • Treatments: Tested negative for 4DX, Treated for Giardia with prescribed medication on December 5, 2024. 🐕All About Me🐕 Hello, future family! My name is Duke, and I’m a young Alaskan Malamute with a heart as big as my paws. My journey started with a little hardship, but I’ve come so far, and I’m ready to share my playful, loving nature with someone special—maybe you! 🐶Personality🐶 I’m the kind of dog who makes friends wherever I go. Whether it’s a stranger or someone I’ve known for a while, I love to greet everyone with a wagging tail and a gentle nuzzle. My favorite way to show affection is to roll over and let you rub my belly—sometimes even on our very first meeting! Despite my size, I have a sweet, goofy charm that makes me hard to resist. People say I’m like the lovable class clown because I always manage to bring smiles to everyone around me. 🔋My Energy Level & Walks🚶 Exploring the outdoors is my favorite thing to do! Walks are a chance for me to stretch my legs and satisfy my curiosity. Sometimes, I get so excited about all the new smells and sights that I might pull on the leash a bit, but with a little guidance, I know I’ll get better. I’m also great in the car—I can hop in and out on my own and settle down quietly during the ride. Whether it’s a trip to the park or a weekend adventure, I’m always ready to go! 🏠Life at Home🛋️ At home, I’m a sweet and loving companion. I’m happy to use indoor pads or go outside for bathroom breaks, but I’ll count on you to keep my space tidy so I can avoid any accidental messes. I’m curious about everything, especially things on counters or shelves, so you might catch me sneaking a peek at what’s up there! I’m always up for mealtime and treats—it’s one of my favorite parts of the day. I’m polite when it comes to sharing food and toys, but I’m very enthusiastic about eating, so feeding time is always an exciting event for me! One of my quirks is that I like to talk in my own special way. Whether it’s a little howl to say hello when you come home or a playful “woof” to ask for attention, I just love expressing myself. ❤️My Ideal Home🏠 I dream of a home filled with love, activity, and understanding. Here’s what I’m hoping for in my forever family: • Active Lifestyle: I thrive with plenty of outdoor time, walks, and adventures. • Gentle Patience: I’m still learning the ropes, and with your guidance, I’ll be the best companion ever. • Companionship: I adore being around people and will happily keep you company wherever you go. 💌Last Message💌 If you’re looking for a loyal, fun-loving companion with a big heart and an even bigger personality, I might be the perfect fit for you. Let’s start this amazing journey together—I can’t wait to meet you! With love and tail wags, Duke 🐾 📺 Videos📺 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cb0x-MWUe-0&list=PLIsLTtIpe3Jxw2A9wUxhLxBOlewgf2iu-

🖤ADOPT MAY-WEST🖤 F | 9Y | 25.1 KG | Husky mix | UTD on shots | Spayed | Housebroken | Crate training in process | Good with dogs | Most likely no cats | kid-tested | Fostered in Toronto | 226 days in care | Instagram: @bellwoodsgooddog_maewest Our hardworking lady has made quite the name for herself in the dog-sledding community. But now she is chilling in her (well-deserved) retirement and is looking for a lovely family to enjoy it with! With a healthy developing confidence, May-West would benefit from a fam that can help nurture this bravery on all her new life adventures! Our flexible girlie loves both the indoors and the outdoors. She is down to hanging around the house and vibe while sneaking in a nap or two. But she also loves to go out to the park, sniff around and greet new friends with kisses. As the certified genius she is, she picks up new tricks really well as she learned to sit on her third day with her foster fam. Her favourite trick right now is "place" and she loves to do this on tree stumps! In the past, we have seen MW do better with male dogs than with female dogs. It is possible, with proper intros that she will do well with a female sister as well. She most likely will not do well with cats and small dogs as she shows prey drive towards passing squirrels. May West has met littles and been very gentle with them! We think with proper introductions she would be a great fur sibling for children. Looking to make Ms. MW happy? Give her some belly scratches! It will absolutely make her day. Intelligent, hardworking and adorable! May-West has it all! All she needs now is a wonderful family to call her own. Think that could be you? Apply to adopt Miss. May-West today!

Story
`It`s a beautiful day in the neighbourhood…` to give our North Shelter Region a call and find out more about this handsome boy - Mr. Rogers! Mr. Rogers came to us about 1 month ago as a stray. Unfortunately his previous owners did not claim him, but that means you`re in luck to bring him home!Mr. Rogers is a 5 year old, male neutered Alaskan Malamute. He`s got the most dazzling eyes and a wonderful personality to match. He`s a pretty laid-back guy when it comes to most things, but tends to pick and choose his dog friends carefully. Don`t get us wrong - this boy may love to snuggle up on the couch with you but he certainly isn`t afraid to show you how cool his Zoomies look in the snow! Being a long-haired breed, you can expect your house and clothes to be adorned in lots of fluff (Mr. Rogers thinks it adds character!) so regular brushing and grooming of his coat is recommended. Mr. Rogers does have some medical needs that our shelter team is happy to discuss more in depth with his potential adopters. If you think Mr. Rogers is the right dog for you, please give our North Shelter a call at (416) 338-8723 from 10:30am - 6:30pm to find out how to bring this cutie home.Thank you for your interest!
