NEED FOSTER HOME FOR ONE OF THE MIXED PUPPIES FROM KIKKI'S STAR WARS LITTER!! Meet Hera, a loving, energetic companion looking for a foster or forever home. Hera is a charming dog with a heart full of loyalty and affection. She can be shy upon initially meeting someone, but adapts quickly. Once comfortable, her playful spirit and boundless energy shine through. Hera enjoys walks and is currently building confidence on leash. She has been fostered in a multi-animal home and gets along with other dogs very well. She sometimes needs a reminder to give the cats some space. She is potty trained as well as crate trained although she can be anxious when left alone at times. A calm, male companion would be ideal for her. Her foster home is currently working on basic training, including some tricks. She is very smart but can be stubborn. You will need some creativity to keep her engaged while training. Several short sessions as opposed to a long one. If you are looking for a devoted friend who will bring joy and enthusiasm into your life, Hera might be a match. Her lovable personality would ensure her becoming a cherished part of your family!! She is very smart and needs an owner who will engage her brain: obedience, fast cat, agility.  Prefer owners with some previous experience with dogs.  She will be spayed prior to placement.  See more pix and video at https://www.facebook.com/akitarescue.org/Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 14, 2026, 12:01 am

Story
Keyoko is the sweetest girl you will ever meet. She had been living a good life until her owner died and she - and her buddy Zeus - suddenly found themselves at the shelter with nowhere to go. One of our wonderful fosters has agreed to take both of them in until we can find their new forever homes. In addition, a kind supporter has sponsored part of her adoption fee to help her get settled soon. At 8yrs old, Keyoko is still playful and loves to cuddle with her people. She is looking for a safe and loving home. If you think that could be yours, click on the big black button marked "Ask About Me" and we will send you an application. This dog is being fostered in TN but included in your adoption fee is transport to a location near you by Rescue Riders Pet Transport, the most animal-friendly transport on the road.

Story
https://foha.org/pet/kai2024/ ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Hi, I’m Kai — a one-year-old Shepherd mix with soulful eyes, a gentle heart, and a deep love for people I trust. I may be shy at first, but once we’ve had a proper sniff and a quiet introduction, I’ll be nudging your hand for more pets and offering you my full attention. I thrive in calm, structured environments and enjoy having a job to do—whether it’s chasing a tennis ball, walking by your side, or lounging after a fun play session. I walk well on leash, I’m athletic (hello, hops!), and I absolutely love fetch. Sometimes I’ll even drop the ball right into your hand. While I’m still working on my confidence and consistency with housetraining, I’m incredibly eager to learn and bond. I do best with patient humans who are home often and willing to work with me through some anxiety and a few quirks that make me, well, uniquely Kai. HOW AM I WITH DOGS: I’m dog-selective. I do best with respectful, friendly female dogs who give me space and good vibes. With the right match and a slow intro, I can enjoy doggy companionship. HOW AM I WITH CATS: Unknown, but given my interest in small animals and birds, I would likely do best in a cat-free home. HOW AM I WITH KIDS: I’m very fearful around children and feel safest in an adult-only home. I KNOW THE FOLLOWING COMMANDS: Fetch champion! I’m working on basic commands and eager to learn more with positive training. MY HOUSEBREAKING AND/OR CRATING: I’ve had some challenges with potty training and am not currently crate trained, but I do well with structure and routine. FOHA can offer guidance and support to help me adjust. THINGS I LIKE: Fetch • Quiet walks • Exploring with dog buddies • Treats • Sniffing games • Calm voices • Building trust with “my” people THINGS I DISLIKE: Loud or fast-paced environments • Being left alone for long periods • Small animals • Sudden introductions or crowds FOHA ADOPTION POLICIES AND PROCESS: https://foha.org/pet-adoption/adoption-policies ADOPTION FEE INCLUDES: Spay/neuter, vaccines (rabies, distemper & Bordetella), 1-month access to Petcademy for training and behavior support, slip lead leash, 1 bag of starter food, 1-month flea/tick & heartworm preventatives, diagnostic testing, and any additional medical care recommended by our vet.

Story
Meet Yoshi, a calm, confident girl who marches to the beat of her own drum, happily taking in the world at her own pace. She’s not one to rush—Yoshi prefers to observe, investigate, and decide what’s worth her time. She went potty right away and several times. She’s been in the gentle and dainty playgroup as well. I can see Yoshi may have a playful side—she’ll chase after toys with a burst of enthusiasm, even if she decides a moment later that she has more important things to do. That curiosity extends to the outdoors, where she’s been spotted intently watching birds (and occasionally giving chase), so she may have a bit of a prey drive. One of her most charming quirks? The absolutely adorable little grunting sounds she makes while exploring. As an Akita, Yoshi would thrive with an adopter who understands and appreciates the breed’s independent nature and unique needs. If you’re looking for a thoughtful and self-assured dog, Yoshi just might be your girl!Watch my video: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DW60cTkDiVZ/?igsh=MWVuZzkydWg4eGl3dQ==

Story
We are heartbroken to rehome Bruce. We adopted him at 9 months old from a family who couldn’t keep him, and due to our relocation, we now have to make this difficult decision. Bruce is a young, loving, and playful dog with lots of energy who thrives outdoors (especially in colder weather), but he also settles down quickly and enjoys relaxing with his people. He rarely barks and has a calm nature once exercised. He plays well with other dogs, is affectionate, loyal, and forms strong bonds with his family. He is smart and eager to learn, though he does have a mild pulling habit on the leash that can improve with training. Since this will be his third home, we are looking for a committed, loving family who is 100% ready to give him a permanent home. Bruce deserves stability, love, and an active home where he can truly thrive.
