Not good with dogs, Not good with cats, House-trained,
Story
Hazel and Bear are young siblings (born 8.28.23). They are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, on flea and heartworm prevention, heartworm negative, house trained, crate trained, and sort of leash trained. Hazel is a standard coated female, and bear is a lomg coated male. These cuties came to us from an owner who could no longer care for them. They were predominantly outdoor dogs, so they will need some training to learn to be polite indoor company. They are both incredibly sweet, but they do like to jump up on people, which may be too much or harmful for small children. They are a bonded pair that will need to be adopted together, and will need to be the only pets in the house.

Story
Dakota is a handsome name, kind of a "rugged" kind of name, right?? I am kind of a REFINED RUGGED kind of boy! For instance, I am a busy boy, I love playing and running with my doggy friends, however, I can lay at your feet very sweetly to beg for your attention. I am kind of like a "reverse" planter as well. I mean, you plant it and i will un-plant it for you :D I won't do it often, just when I want your attention and I am outside alone. So see?? you have great control over that urge! So I am a food and toy lover too, I eat out of a slow feeder bowl because wolfing down my food is not an option! I am learning all things toys and am actually learning how to bring the ball BACK after you throw it. I am a smart and very sweet boy. I do absolutely have a prey drive so no kitties for small furry mammals around me please. I am fully potty trained and great in a crate. Now i just need you to adopt me to complete my circle of life. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Approximate DOB: 2/18/2024 Approximate Weight: 45 lbs Harlow bio after spending time with her and getting to know her a bit: Meet Harlow, a fun-loving, gorgeous and energetic girl who gets along with every person she meets. She's thriving in our care, learning new things, and doing great with the akita grooming process. After overcoming a tough past, Harlow needs a patient home to continue her growth. Having lived outdoors most of her life, she's still learning basic skills on how to be a dog, but she's smart and picks things up quickly. Will you come meet her? She will need a slow intro with other dogs as she tends to get overstimulated quickly I'm a cute puppy still working on housetraining and crate training. I like to chew on everything, play, eat, and then sleep! As a puppy, I am required to go to training within 90 days of my adoption with a certified trainer. ** The vet noted a 3/6 Heart Murmur on examination** ********************************************************************* Visit our website for an application to adopt. https://www.olddominionhumanesociety.org/adoption-application What breed am I? Mixed mutt! ODHS does not breed label (unless there’s official paperwork), as studies show it is nearly impossible to tell the exact breed of each dog based off of their appearance. Educational article: 3/3/3 rule: https://www.rescuedogs101.com/bringing-new-dog-home-3-3-3-rule/?fbclid=IwAR2iv5m7fqk3FieO7LOsstGeGsYYV_F1rJOd1BPxaImofLpcinpYsUbFRWs Adoption Donations are $275 for an adult, $375 for puppies (a dog under one year of age), and $175 for a senior dog (based on the age of the dog). More "sought out breeds may have a higher adoption donation) Adoption donations are to be made via cash, or credit/debit card. There is a $5 fee to run cards. We do not accept checks for adoption fees. Please remember to bring a martingale collar and leash (non-retractable) with you the day of the adoption. We typically have adoption events on Wednesdays 5-7pm, Fridays 6-8pm, and Saturdays 11am to 3pm. Our adoption center is located at 3602 Lafayette Blvd, Suite 101, Fredericksburg, VA 22408. It's important that you keep an eye on your emails for any changes or updates during the adoption process. Old Dominion Humane Society is a volunteer based organization. We are run completely by volunteers, who also have full time jobs, so we appreciate your patience. Currently, the average timeframe for a response to your application is 1 week. Not good with cats,
Story
https://foha.org/pet/kai2024/ Hi, I'm Kai, a one-year-old Shepherd mix with a gentle and loving personality.I may be a bit slow to warm up to people but once I do, I greatly enjoy attention, affection and treats. When we meet, please let me come to you and after a few careful sniffs, I will nuzzle your hand indicating that it's ok to start petting me. Once trust has been established I will happily soak up all of the affection you wish to give me.I have met, and enjoyed playing with, a variety of dogs. A slow and respectful introduction is usually all I need in order to become familiar with another dog. Many times I want to play, but sometimes I just want to walk along with my canine friend and their people. Small animals and birds definitely catch my attention and I feel they are fun to chase. A 5 ft or higher fence would be ideal for me as I am quite athletic and have impressive leaping abilities. Cats are an unknown factor, but given how much other small animals stimulate me, I may be best living without them or at the very least needing a very slow and very careful introduction. I'm ready to find my family! Please come meet me!
