Story
Approximate DOB: 2/18/2024 Approximate Weight: 45 lbs Harlow bio after spending time with her and getting to know her a bit: Meet Harlow, a fun-loving, gorgeous and energetic girl who gets along with every person she meets. She's thriving in our care, learning new things, and doing great with the akita grooming process. After overcoming a tough past, Harlow needs a patient home to continue her growth. Having lived outdoors most of her life, she's still learning basic skills on how to be a dog, but she's smart cookie and picks things up quickly. Will you come meet her? She will need a slow intro with other dogs as she tends to get overstimulated quickly I'm a cute puppy still working on housetraining and crate training. I like to chew on everything, play, eat, and then sleep! As a puppy, I am required to go to training within 90 days of my adoption with a certified trainer. ** The vet noted a 3/6 Heart Murmur on examination** ********************************************************************* Visit our website for an application to adopt. https://www.olddominionhumanesociety.org/adoption-application What breed am I? Mixed mutt! ODHS does not breed label (unless there’s official paperwork), as studies show it is nearly impossible to tell the exact breed of each dog based off of their appearance. Educational article: 3/3/3 rule: https://www.rescuedogs101.com/bringing-new-dog-home-3-3-3-rule/?fbclid=IwAR2iv5m7fqk3FieO7LOsstGeGsYYV_F1rJOd1BPxaImofLpcinpYsUbFRWs Adoption Donations are $275 for an adult, $375 for puppies (a dog under one year of age), and $175 for a senior dog (based on the age of the dog). More "sought out breeds may have a higher adoption donation) Adoption donations are to be made via cash, or credit/debit card. There is a $5 fee to run cards. We do not accept checks for adoption fees. Please remember to bring a martingale collar and leash (non-retractable) with you the day of the adoption. We typically have adoption events on Wednesdays 5-7pm, Fridays 6-8pm, and Saturdays 11am to 3pm. Our adoption center is located at 3602 Lafayette Blvd, Suite 101, Fredericksburg, VA 22408. It's important that you keep an eye on your emails for any changes or updates during the adoption process. Old Dominion Humane Society is a volunteer based organization. Story
Sweet Elsa is around 6 years old but still has the spunk and drive of a puppy. She loves everyone she meets and wants all the love and pets she can get. She is around 6 years old and has lived with kids before and is said to do great with them. We would want all the littles to come to the meet and greet to make sure everyone is comfortable together. She will do best in a home with no cats. She would also do best with a male dog and a dog test will be required to see if the personalities match. She loves to be outside for her walkies and letting her zoomies out in the play yard. She walks well on leash and is super smart! She should never be left unattended while outside as she is known to be an escape artist even while in a fenced in yard. We will prioritize adopters that have experience with this breed or similar breeds as they have different needs than your "average" pup. She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines.
