Hi, my name is Dagen! Believe it or not, I was found astray, and no one came looking for me. I am a handsome young Akita, and the shelter is no place for a big pup like me. True to my breed I am headstrong and very intelligent. I am looking for my furever home with someone who has experience with Akita`s or dogs with a similar temperament. I have some mild handling sensitivity and I ask that any children in the home be 8 and older, as well as dog-savvy. I may enjoy canine companionship, which could help keep me on my best behavior. I am not sure how I feel about cats but I am open to trying with proper introduction. Once I let my initial guard down I am a very affectionate, loyal, and kind-hearted dog. This sweet girl was found with her head stuck in a fence and she had multiple wounds. An amazing volunteer took her in and started treatments for her wounds. We estimate Darla was born in late October. We have no idea what happened to her but we know her future is bright. She is sweet, funny and playful. We are only guessing at the breed mix because of her ears. That may change as time goes on. She will be finished with her vetting and ready to go to her forever home in early to mid January. Let’s help her have the best life. This big fuzzy man is as nice as mom's spaghetti! Jokes aside, Slim has shown what a gentle giant he really is. He isn't a fan of other dogs but he's the size of two dogs anyway! He walks He walks amazing on a leash and very minimal reactivity. He loves to play and sit pretty for treats. If you love extra large teddy bears, this is the man for you!

Matrix is a three year old Akita. We have had her in our care before she was a year old. At first everything was great, she got along with our other dog and cats but she has been aggressive towards other animals so she is with me now and our only pet. She has never bitten anyone. We are a family for 7 with a baby on the way and we have alot to keep up with. want to make sure that the person who adopts her is serious and willing to give her the time attention and training she needs. She is still a puppy.I get her monthly bark box toys and treats and she loves that. She loves to play.

What to say about Dexter Limburger? He is a big ole goof ball weighing roughly 80lbs. He acts like an untrained pup (he clearly came to us mostly untrained). He pulls on leash like a double engine freight train! He was not fond of collar grabs. He had no manners and does jump up, all of which we have been working on. He can sometimes cop an attitude like a spoiled brat. He is mouthy in his play and may bark and rumble at you when you first meet him, just to see if he can push your buttons. He does not like to share his food and resource guards by making you feel like you best NOT touch his food. All part of his pushing your buttons. . He will whine if he feels he is not getting enough attention; if that doesn't work he will also bark. He has gotten more respectful in the time he has been here. Learning to walk better on leash and not be such a brat. He is really a love bug! Put must of that behavior down to the husky breed. He is a husky brat! In being worked with while he has been here he has come a long way. That all being said he also jumps up to give hugs and kisses. He can sometimes walk like a prince on leash. He loves to play, slop in his wading pool, take car rides. He sits when asked, sometimes. He likes some of the girls here and loves to rump and play with them. His lastest friends have been a litter of older coonhound pups. He is house trained and will hold it a good 10 hours or more. He would gladly be a big lap dog and likes belly rubs. What he needs and would greatly benefit from is someone who is a confident Alfa, familiar with the breeds, willing and able to give him the training he needs. You will end up with a very handsome, wonderful dog. BUT, you must be patient and give him the focused time and work!
