Story
KENNEL ID #01658&#226&#128&#139 Introducing ‘Ghost’ a 3 year old American Akita. Ghost is a super sweet fellow and needs a calm, confident and active owner who is attentive to his needs and instincts. His confidence, once shattered, is building back up with patient handling. He walks great on a leash and loves being close to you. He enjoys car rides, to go for a hike and enjoys walks where he can take in all the sights and smells along the way. Akitas don’t accept the settings of doggie daycares, canine play dates, or dog parks. Ghost fits most of the typical description of the Akita breed. He strongly prefers to be the only dog in the household, will chase small animals, and livestock; as he has protection tendencies over what he perceives to be his owners and property. Akitas are fast and inquisitive, and even with advanced training this is not a breed that can be off leash. Ghost is extremely affectionate and loyal and is seeking an owner to give all his loyalty and trust.  SafeHART) (jotform.com) Thank you for your interest in rescue.  If you would like to be considered for  adoption please submit an application to adopt.  If you have any questions regarding the adoption process please  email:    dianespets1486@gmail.com  or call 610-970-7500 APPLICATIONS TO ADOPT : DOG   SMALL ANIMALS   BIRD REPTILE   FERRET October 28, 2024, 2:33 am

Story
Is it really a bitter sweet moment as we do not wish to rehome Ash… But we are relocating, and cannot take her with us, unfortunately. We are looking for good people who can give Ash the time and attention she needs. She is very happy and energetic, she likes to play with her toys, and she loves to play with my five year old… she loves treats, and she knows the “sit”, and “roll over” command. She is also trained to pee and poop on the doggie pad when when is in the house. With this adoption, you will get a Dog house, a outside dog cage, and a in house dog cage. We can’t wait for Ash to become apart of your family 💜

Story
Hi I am the strong and handsome Dakota. I came to the shelter as a stray so not much is known about me. I am a nice dog and friendly with most people that I meet. I have some training, I understand sit and I love to be pet. I'm pretty smart if I do say so myself! The staff here have been working on my "dog sociability" as I am still trying to figure other dogs out.Interested in adopting me? We recommend submitting a general online adoption application and then heading to the shelter during our normal adoption hours (Mon: 12-4pm and Tues-Sun: 12-5pm) to meet our available animals. Please note: all applications are considered general until the animal has been met. If you have any questions, please contact animalcenter@bmorehumane.org or 410-833-8848 Ext/Opt 2.

Story
Hello, my name is Bernard and let me tell you my tale.I'm a rambunctious Siberian husky that found my way to the shelter as a stray - as you know, my breed enjoys a good romp and wander but I was never reclaimed.I need work on crate-training and while I am sometimes good when left alone, I also (as is normal for my breed) like to get into mischief when I'm alone. Hey, I get bored so I like to sing and chew things, I just don't always know what's mine or yours.I have been living with another dog in my foster home and enjoy having a canine companion around. I cannot live with any cats or other small furry animals, as I like to give chase.I am a bouncy boy and love people, maybe too much because I have a history of playing a little too rough with people. I forget that I'm a big boy with teeth and people aren't dogs. I am requiring my future people be 15 and older as well as experienced with huskies or big mouthy guys like me so I can continue working on myself and being the bestest husky around. I also must have a doggie friend to live with, as it helps me tremendously to be my best self.Do you have room in your home for a pup like me? If the answer is yes then come down to the shelter and lets meet!---If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application as I am in a foster home and available BY APPOINTMENT only.---The Pennsylvania SPCA - Lancaster Center848 S. Story
Hello, I'm Cortland! I am a traditional husky cultivar through and through. Let's just say the apple didn't fall far from the tree. I like to talk, sing, and crisply howl my emotions. I also can be steadfast and a bit of a tart crabapple if I don't get my way, or if I'm forced to do anything I don't like. That being said, I ask that any kids in the home be 8 and older, who understand the gravity of my boundaries. I may enjoy living with another dog but I am not sure how I feel about cats; they're apples and oranges after all. I just want to plant the seed of what to expect with me in your life. I have a beautiful sheen inside and out, and I am a great choice from the shelter bushel. If you are looking for a friend full of flavor and fun, then I'm your guy!---If you are interested in adopting, please come prepared --bring a photo ID, proof of address, and everyone in the home including resident dogs with vaccination history. We are open daily 12-6pm.---The Pennsylvania SPCA - Lancaster Center848 S. Prince St. Lancaster PA 17603Kennel #16516717-917-6979lancaster@pspca.org
