Story
Akita Mix 1 year old Male 66 pounds Kids · 8+ Dogs · Yes Cats · No What My Friends Say About Me: I’m a sweet and affectionate boy who absolutely loves people! I’ve got a lot of energy to burn! Whether it’s a game of fetch, chasing after a ball, or just running around the yard, I’m always up for some fun! I get along well with other dogs and love making new furry friends. The Type of Home I’m Looking For: I haven’t had any experience with cats, so I’m not sure how I’d react. For now, I think it’s best if I stick to my dog pals. I’m an energetic guy, so I’d do best with children over the age of 8 who can keep up with my playful nature. I could use some positive reinforcement training to help me become the best dog I can be. My adoption fee is $300 and includes neuter, microchip & registration, leash/collar, food sample, toy & treat packet.

Story
Rrrrruffff! I'm Kya! I'm a happy and smiley girl! I love people and I'm a very sweet girl. I can be a tiny bit anxious but with time I come out of my shell pretty easily! I'm a cattle dog mix, and I have some white, brown and black in my coat! I'm quite beautiful, and I smile often! I'm dog friendly, I currently go out with two other large female foster sisters and a foster brother! At first, I try to work and will to herd everyone. That's my job, so that's what I do! But,, I play and jump around once I know my duties have been completed! I'm potty and crate trained! My foster Mom lets me out in the yard (fenced in), and I get to play with others and do my business. When I'm all done, I go straight to my crate, where I'm fed and given water! I do like to play in the water too, sometimes I just stand in it. I'm a great adventure partner too, I love adventures! The only adventures I go on right now are to Home Depot, Marshall's, and my favorite...the drive thru at Starbucks! I get to get a pup cup every time! Watch how good I was at my last trip to Marshall's with my Foster Mom here: https://youtu.be/CJkoorJ859w?feature=shared I'm so happy that I'll be able to find my forever home soon. I would love to provide all the love and affection to someone or a whole family! Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We provide weekly socialization programs for our dogs through playgroups and group leash training classes available to all dogs in our adoption program, and Doggy Sleepover, Doggy Day Out, and Ambassador programs for our boarding dogs. There is a professional dog trainer on staff to provide support for our fosters and dogs, and an off-site dog trainer for dogs that need more extensive behavior modification. This helps us learn deeply about every dog, prepare them for adoption, and ultimately match them with loving families. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: • 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.) • A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week) • One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan• 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan • Coupons for a fun visit to Petco • Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes. Follow our rescue journey through the links below! https://www.threelittlepittiesrescue.org/ https://www.facebook.com/threelittlepittiesrescue https://www.instagram.com/threelittlepittiesrescue *Due to the rising cost of fuel and transportation expenses, there will be an additional $74 surcharge for transport. DISCLAIMER- Breed type is determined based on general appearance and behavioral characteristics, and cannot be guaranteed unless DNA test results or AKC registration were provided at intake.

Dog meet and greets are by appointment only, please answer the questions below the bio, either through Petfinder, Adopt-A-Pet, Rescueme.org or by directly e-mailing us at shelter@hbpets.org. Answering the questions below, will help move the adoption process along faster. ***Please check your Junk/Spam folder for reply e-mails from us, if its been more than 72 hours*** Hi, I am Goose, I am an Akita Mix, between 6-7yrs old, Neutered male. I was adopted from Homeward Bound in 2021 into the most amazing and large family, there was 8 humans to give me love, attention and play with me. I got to go on car rides and go on adventures, it was so nice after my previous family dumped me. Life happens and my home started changing over the last year and now 6 of my humans were no longer there, my mom and dad tried so hard to make it work, but I started escaping and barking at neighbors dogs, I gained weight and so my mom and dad made the heartbreaking decisions to rehome me, they spent a long time trying to find the right home, but people kept backing out, so they reached out to the shelter and the team accepted me with open arms. Goose is a very loving big boy, his family did great with him, he would really love a home with no other dogs, he loves children and does very well with them. He is goofy, knows lots of commands and really is just a big cuddle bug. My adoption fee is $150 1. Do you have a privately fenced yard? 2. What animals live in your home? 3. Can you supply a squishy bed? 4. Can you supply bouncy toys? 5. What would my typical day look like? 6. Have you had a dog as big as me? I am 103lbs! 7. The team is working on weight-loss, can you continue to help with this?

These pups are in Portland, Oregon too!

Story
Freckles is ready to talk, shop, ride and walk his way right into your heart. If you are looking for a striking dog with a presence that is both calm and undeniable, Freckles is worth getting to know. A favorite among volunteers who treat the dogs to days out and long car rides, he is such good enjoyable company we had to encourage a few people to consider taking a new dog out. We can’t blame him for giving the good kisses, being a good shopping partner, wanting to talk while you drive, and being friendly enough that strangers are welcome to say hello. There just isn’t enough Freckles to go around. Take a look and see why he is so adored https://youtu.be/x4RRMMpwTMw Estimated to be right around 3.5 years old and weighing in at an impressive 82 lbs, we believe he may be some beautiful mix of Husky/Pittie/Australian Shepherd. Of course, given it is rescue we cannot offer any guarantees on age or breed but please share DNA results when you get them! We love knowing right along side you what your rescue special is. Freckles’ dream home is a Dixie Chicks Song- wide open spaces. This boy loves being outside, maybe he has some Great Pyrenees in him, that coat of his is impressive, but he loves the breeze, the smells, the sun… he is truly a dog that loves being outside. Farm dog life feels like the happy ending he would write into the story. But he isn’t all space and fresh air, he loves people and socializing comes easy for him. He will happily snuggle in on the couch at the end of the day but by day, he is all yours, whether you want to drive around running errands or do some winter-prep gardening. His companionship level is set to 10. Easy-going, low-maintenance but always, undeniably, there for you. Plus, he is great with kids! Whether you have your own, grandbabys or neighborhood visitors- Freckles will awe them with his size and soft, patient approach. Do you know the biggest reason we think he has some Husky in his family tree? He loves to talk about it! So no apartments for him unless you really want to get to know your neighbors. Car rides with the windows down is his version of heaven and even if I didn’t tell you, he would. It’s cute in the way watching undeniable joy is hard to be mad about. As much as Freckles loves to be out an about, he is a big boy so handling a big dog needs to be familiar if you plan on taking him out and about often. Truthfully, he doesn’t need it but he corrects easily and is treat motivated which primes him perfectly for teaching and training as you see fit for your lifestyle. Also, brace yourself for his “love-lean!” This is when he is ready for a love sesh in the form of pets- here he comes- first step is he is going to lean his love-seeking self right into you. Second step is the eyes that tell you- “it is time and I am ready!” It feels good because there is no denying the love. So if you want to head into the cold weather equipped with the best heated blanket available, Freckles is an exclusive, one-of-a-kind gentleman. He is ready to be a steady-forever-shotgun-rider and the best yes-man you’ve ever known. Adopt Freckles, as much as our volunteers and staff will miss him, we will be happy to see him join you and your beautiful life.  Apply today! https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/65f08d5278df96ffb0076209 Questions? Email kristin@threelittlepittiesrescue.org We facilitate adoptions across the US through our own internal transport to ensure the quality of care. We travel to WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT and Canada (Canadian adopters will need to pick up in Bellingham, WA  or Brattleboro, VT for the eastern Canadian border)! Our pups travel in comfort with 24/7 care on our USDA licensed vehicles, including buses and cargo vans. You can join along on our private Facebook event page to follow their adventure, connecting you with other adopters and providing updates throughout their transport journey! You will get to meet your new pup over a video call before signing paperwork, creating a fun and personalized adoption experience!  The adoption fee is $400 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectible, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship!  We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.  Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!  Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.  The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family  Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions  70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer  Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity.
