What my friends at OHS say about me:Is there a dog shaped hole in your heart? I can fix that!I have been known to shower my favorite people with love.I would flourish in a calm environment and a low-traffic home.I may be shy at first, but once we get to know each other I will shower you with love!High Energy: I can become easily frustrated if my energy and exercise needs are not met. I will need positive outlets and a calm environment to help me flourish.Shy and Nervous: I can be worried about new people, new surroundings and touch. I prefer to take things at my own pace and will need to live in a calm environment. I will also need more patience at the vet as I am sensitive to vet style handling. The type of home I'm looking for:It could be with you! Story
Hesha she is very energetic and smart loyal pup, she has the tendency to bark and pull on leash. I took her for training in pet smart, she knows basic commands such as sit, stay, fetch, fist bump, high five, lay (Ify) and come. She is up to date with all her shots, she is not spayed, she loves to play and sometimes she's mischievous try to sneak in and take food. Very food motivated, crate trained. Her favorite toys is balls ans plushie with squeaker. The problem is that I'm working part time, I'm going to school full time and my partner is developing health issues which is really harmful for her. I cannot keep hesha anymore due to overload schedule and taking care of my partner. If anyone is interested don't hesitate to reach out and try to get to her.

Story
Dakota is a handsome name, kind of a "rugged" kind of name, right?? I am kind of a REFINED RUGGED kind of boy! For instance, I am a busy boy, I love playing and running with my doggy friends, however, I can lay at your feet very sweetly to beg for your attention. I am kind of like a "reverse" planter as well. I mean, you plant it and i will un-plant it for you :D I won't do it often, just when I want your attention and I am outside alone. So see?? you have great control over that urge! So I am a food and toy lover too, I eat out of a slow feeder bowl because wolfing down my food is not an option! I am learning all things toys and am actually learning how to bring the ball BACK after you throw it. I am a smart and very sweet boy. I do absolutely have a prey drive so no kitties for small furry mammals around me please. I am fully potty trained and great in a crate. Now i just need you to adopt me to complete my circle of life. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

Good with dogs, Not good with cats,
Story
Akita Mix 1 year old Male 66 pounds Kids · 8+ Dogs · Yes Cats · No What My Friends Say About Me: I’m a sweet and affectionate boy who absolutely loves people! I’ve got a lot of energy to burn! Whether it’s a game of fetch, chasing after a ball, or just running around the yard, I’m always up for some fun! I get along well with other dogs and love making new furry friends. The Type of Home I’m Looking For: I haven’t had any experience with cats, so I’m not sure how I’d react. For now, I think it’s best if I stick to my dog pals. I’m an energetic guy, so I’d do best with children over the age of 8 who can keep up with my playful nature. I could use some positive reinforcement training to help me become the best dog I can be. My adoption fee is $300 and includes neuter, microchip & registration, leash/collar, food sample, toy & treat packet.

Story
**All dogs are by appointment only, please inquire through Petfinder, Adopt-a-pet, Rescueme.org or e-mail us directly at shelter@hbpets.org for the dogs questionnaire*** Hi, I am Goose, I am an Akita Mix, between 6-7yrs old, Neutered male. I was adopted from Homeward Bound in 2021 into the most amazing and large family, there was 8 humans to give me love, attention and play with me. I got to go on car rides and go on adventures, it was so nice after my previous family dumped me. Life happens and my home started changing over the last year and now 6 of my humans were no longer there, my mom and dad tried so hard to make it work, but I started escaping and barking at neighbors dogs, I gained weight and so my mom and dad made the heartbreaking decisions to rehome me, they spent a long time trying to find the right home, but people kept backing out, so they reached out to the shelter and the team accepted me with open arms. Goose is a very loving big boy, his family did great with him, he would really love a home with no other dogs, he loves children and does very well with them. He is goofy, knows lots of commands and really is just a big cuddle bug. My adoption fee is $150
