Story
Wale A554614Wale is a most interesting dog.He has arresting blue eyes, gorgeous brindle fur, and white feet.Wale was quiet in his kennel, with just a squeak or two alerting me his desire to go outside.Wale was easy to leash up, and off we went!I sensed Wale had some pent up energy so we played in the big play yard on the hill.Wale patrolled the edges of the space and enjoyed dashing about, playing with the rope toys.Wale is only a year old and appears smart enough to benefit from some basic training.Wale is available to all adopters.Check out my video by copying and pasting link below into a browser window:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3e19ZXikdMkAnimal Services Division3750 Brown Station RoadUpper Marlboro MD301-720-7800

Please contact Paul Slebzak (pauls@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.gorgeous akita mix ISO love and central air! GLORIA NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Gloria     Best Guess for Breed:  Akita and shepherd mix Best Guess for Age:   6 years as of November 2024     Gender: Female Approximate Weight:   49 lbs Gets Along With: Gloria lives with other dogs in her foster home. We haven't seen her with kids but she can be tested. Gloria should not go to a home with cats.  Currently Living At: DC area foster home. Special Adoption Considerations: Gloria is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! This pup is part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs.  All dogs in the study are placed at random in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, the pups are eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care.  After treatment concludes, we work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test after 6 months, followed by a second test at 9 months.  We are happy to discuss this treatment and which phase of the study this Lucky Dog is in right now! Just email the adoption coordinator - the address is at lower left! Gloria Is Looking For: Her forever home! She landed in the shelter through no fault of her own, and can't wait to once again have her own humans. She's eager for long sniffy walks and all the adventures her new family can dream up. Note her thick, dense coat. She has a preference for adventures in cool places - the mountains over the beach, Vermont or Montana, and oh yeah - Starbucks for pup cups. And quality kibble and and a cushy dog bed are on her wish list too. But you know what she wants most of all? To know where she belongs, to know who her people are, and to be safe and loved. In exchange, she offers her stockpile of adoring gazes and loyal companionship for all her days.  What My Foster Says About Me: Gloria is a great dog.  She walks well on leash, and hasn't had an accident in the house since I got her.  She can sit and stay (with treats).  She is very treat-motivated.  She interacts well with my dogs, and she is not noisy at all! Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. Story
This is breaking my heart. I absolutely love this sweet boy. He is the most loving dog ive ever had. I unexpectedly have to move due to my jobs company changes and I cant have a dog where im moving. I have a 2nd senior dog; however, due to his age my mother was willing to take him. Killo is 3 years old, loves to be touched. He's an all up in your face kind of dog. He's a strong big boy so I would someone with strength walking him. .. with walking him, Killo does need an experienced dog walker. He loves to bark at cars and will kind of lunge at them, even people riding bikes. He is currently going through training with this issue. I adopted Killo from an American Akita breeder in California (I have all his paperwork); however, looking at him, I can tell he is mixed. Though, its never mattered; he is a true lover boy. Also working on jumping on people out of excitement. He has been around cats only from being in day care and was raised with a senior male neutered Pit. LOVEEES ATTENTION.
