Story
Skipjack is a delightful and stunning 2-year-old Akita mix currently in a foster home. Skipjack loves adventure and he would thrive with an active person or family. In his home there aren't children, but they do visit! He does well with an 8 and 13 year old but may be a little too bouncy for small children. Initially shy, Skipjack reveals his goofy and affectionate nature once he warms up. He loves belly rubs and can’t get enough of the water, often splashing around in the dog pool. He does have a bit of a prey drive and might get distracted by rabbits or squirrels on walks, but he generally walks well on a leash. He would also prefer a home without cats. Skipjack is a sweetheart, responding well to direction and training, but he will need a committed owner to continue his training. He hasn’t had any accidents in his designated space and he is crate trained. He is generally well behaved, he is working on his excitement when meeting new people! Skipjack is a lovable, high-energy dog who would be a great companion for an active individual or family willing to continue his training and provide him with the attention he needs. You must be over 21 and a home owner to adopt me. Please visit www.pittiesandpurrs.org to fill out an application. For further information contact adoptpitties@gmail.com

Story
Dakota is a handsome name, kind of a "rugged" kind of name, right?? I am kind of a REFINED RUGGED kind of boy! For instance, I am a busy boy, I love playing and running with my doggy friends, however, I can lay at your feet very sweetly to beg for your attention. I am kind of like a "reverse" planter as well. I mean, you plant it and i will un-plant it for you :D I won't do it often, just when I want your attention and I am outside alone. So see?? you have great control over that urge! So I am a food and toy lover too, I eat out of a slow feeder bowl because wolfing down my food is not an option! I am learning all things toys and am actually learning how to bring the ball BACK after you throw it. I am a smart and very sweet boy. I do absolutely have a prey drive so no kitties for small furry mammals around me please. I am fully potty trained and great in a crate. Now i just need you to adopt me to complete my circle of life. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

Wale A554614Wale is a most interesting dog.He has arresting blue eyes, gorgeous brindle fur, and white feet.Wale was quiet in his kennel, with just a squeak or two alerting me his desire to go outside.Wale was easy to leash up, and off we went!I sensed Wale had some pent up energy so we played in the big play yard on the hill.Wale patrolled the edges of the space and enjoyed dashing about, playing with the rope toys.Wale is only a year old and appears smart enough to benefit from some basic training.Wale is available to all adopters.Check out my video by copying and pasting link below into a browser window:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3e19ZXikdMkAnimal Services Division3750 Brown Station RoadUpper Marlboro MD301-720-7800

Please contact Paul Slebzak (pauls@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.gorgeous akita mix ISO love and central air! GLORIA NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Gloria     Best Guess for Breed:  Akita and shepherd mix Best Guess for Age:   6 years as of November 2024     Gender: Female Approximate Weight:   49 lbs Gets Along With: Gloria lives with other dogs in her foster home. We haven't seen her with kids but she can be tested. Gloria should not go to a home with cats.  Currently Living At: DC area foster home. Special Adoption Considerations: Gloria is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! This pup is part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs.  All dogs in the study are placed at random in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, the pups are eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care.  After treatment concludes, we work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test after 6 months, followed by a second test at 9 months.  We are happy to discuss this treatment and which phase of the study this Lucky Dog is in right now! Just email the adoption coordinator - the address is at lower left! Gloria Is Looking For: Her forever home! She landed in the shelter through no fault of her own, and can't wait to once again have her own humans. She's eager for long sniffy walks and all the adventures her new family can dream up. Note her thick, dense coat. She has a preference for adventures in cool places - the mountains over the beach, Vermont or Montana, and oh yeah - Starbucks for pup cups. And quality kibble and and a cushy dog bed are on her wish list too. But you know what she wants most of all? To know where she belongs, to know who her people are, and to be safe and loved. In exchange, she offers her stockpile of adoring gazes and loyal companionship for all her days.  What My Foster Says About Me: Gloria is a great dog.  She walks well on leash, and hasn't had an accident in the house since I got her.  She can sit and stay (with treats).  She is very treat-motivated.  She interacts well with my dogs, and she is not noisy at all! Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. Story
Helloooooooooo, new friend! My name is Zora, and that`s my way of giving you a big ol` husky-style greeting! I`ve got my eyeliner on, my tail is wagging, and I am ready to go on your next adventure with you!You know what`s exciting? EVERYTHING! Playing fetch is exciting, meeting new friends is exciting, going for walks and hikes is exciting, hanging out with you around the house is exciting ... I could go on and on! I`ll happily be your shadow in case anything interesting is going on, but I`m also great at entertaining myself. Give me some toys, and I am good to go! I like other dogs and other people and will happily share my toys, but I can be a little rambunctious sometimes. Playtime is so much fun that I`m not always ready to stop! A gentle reminder about personal space does the trick, but I wouldn`t mind learning from another patient pup who wants to teach me some doggie life hacks.I have my housebreaking skills down pat, and I would do best in a house where I can keep working on my obedience training and crate training skills. I definitely know all my basics (I`m a VERY smart girl!) but sometimes I get distracted if there`s a lot going on. With some continued lessons, I`m sure I can master any kind of command. As you can tell, I really like a lot of things -- people, dogs, toys, adventures -- but my absolute favorite thing to do is to hang out with you and make you happy. Come take me home, and I can show you myself! If you`d like to take me home, please fill out an adoption application at this website – http://www.animalalliesrescue.org/adoption-application – and choose me, Zora! My adoption fee is $350 and AARF wants me to tell you that their adoption package covers all expenses needed to prepare dogs like me for our forever homes. By the time you meet us, we’ve already been spayed/neutered (if age-appropriate) and microchipped. We’ve been checked by a veterinarian, and we’re up to date on age-appropriate immunizations against rabies and DHLPP (distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parainfluenza, and parvovirus). We’ve been tested for heartworm and other tick borne diseases (4DX), and we’ve started our heartworm and flea preventive medications. Some of us have had extensive surgeries, dental work, or other necessary procedures. AARF is committed to getting all of us entirely ready for a happy, healthy, love-filled life!

Story
Cora is in a healthy condition. Vaccines are up-to-date. Neutered, House-trained, and knows a few tricks like sit, lay down, and paw. Cora is estimated to be 4 years and 8 months old. We are looking for a new home for her where she can enjoy plenty of daily activities such as walks and play sessions. She does well in an apartment setting. Cora does well with other dogs. She enjoys playing with toys and gets along well during walks. We are unsure if she is good with cats. She is incredibly affectionate when she feels comfortable. She loves sharing the couch or bed with pets at home. She is very affectionate with humans.

Story
Tyr (Teer) is a 4 year old shepsky with all the sass! He has all the positive traits of a husky and GSD combined! He doesn't like loud noises tho and gets anxious during storms. But that makes him a great thunder storm cuddle buddy! He does well with his brother and sister but im not sure how he would do with other dogs... he's wonderful with kids of all ages. Though you do have to protect your food around him. He's very stealthy. Hahahaha
