Story
Hi, I’m Winona! I’m looking for a loving and patient home. Other dogs make me uncomfortable, so I’ll need slow and respectful introductions. I also prefer a home with children who will understand and respect my space. I may be protective of my food or toys, so working with a qualified trainer is recommended. It might take me some time to adjust to a new environment, but with patience and love, I promise I’ll settle in.

Story
Arizona is a 4.5 year old Akita Mix that was transferred to rescue from a local shelter with her newborn puppies. After raising her puppies, who have all been adopted, Arizona has settled into a happy life and routine with her foster and is a friendly, healthy adult dog. She's been with us for more than seven months, which is surprising given that she is housebroken and gets along with people, other dogs, and even cats. We believe that prior to rescue, Arizona spent a lot of time outside and can sometimes be more comfortable lounging in the backyard than in the house. She's also become very attached to her foster dad (as Akitas tend to do) and will require an adoptive household that understands there will be a transition period before she is comfortable with her new family, surroundings, and routine. Arizona can present with separation anxiety, which includes pacing and verbalizing her displeasure, however with time and consistency, these behaviors have been eliminated in her foster home. We'd love to see Arizona thrive in a home that knows the breed and is truly committed to the time and energy required to help a rescue dog settle into a new and better life. Whether you work from home, are active and like to take your canine pals along, or own property where she can explore, we'd encourage you to consider making Arizona a member of your family. Arizona is spayed, fully vaccinated, heartworm tested negative, microchipped with registration, wormed, and has had entropion correction surgery on her left eye. Her adoption fee is $350.

Story
We're looking for a pet-free home for our fur baby. Noble (or Nobi, as we call her) is a perfect house dog, but she does not get along with other animals. As we've expanded our family, we can no longer meet her needs. She's house trained and good on the leash (if other animals are not present). She's terrified of young children, but she's great with kids who can respect her space. Noble is in perfect health. She loves to play and snuggle. Change is hard for her, but she's very obedient and wants to please everyone. She does best when she has a safe place she can retreat to, such as a kennel, which we can provide.
