QUICK FACTS Name: Lingling Age: Around 10 years old Gender: Female (Spayed) Breed: Yorkshire Terrier mix Color: Beige Weight: 6.6kg / 14.3lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY I was placed in a city pound due to lack of space and was waiting for euthanasia, but kindness found me just in time. Thanks to a timely rescue, I was given a second chance at life. Now I’m safe, full of hope, and ready to find the forever family I’ve been dreaming of.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Spayed & healthy with no known health issues Teeth cleaning done in May 2025   MY PERSONALITY I’m a sweet, calm older gal who truly enjoys the simple joys of life. I don’t ask for much — just a cozy bed, some quiet moments, and the comfort of my personal space. I’d thrive in a home that isn’t looking for high-energy puppy antics, but instead values a relaxed and peaceful companion. I’m a chill girl who is very tolerant of handling, whether it’s nail grooming or baths. I get along well with people and calm dog friends, making me the perfect low-key, loving companion for the right family.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I can be a little shy at first, but with a tasty treat, I warm up quickly. I’m happy to let new people pick me up and pet me once I feel comfortable. I tend to be calm and reserved when meeting new friends — no over-the-top excitement here — but I greet everyone gently and enjoy forming steady, relaxed bonds with adults who appreciate my mellow nature. · With Dogs: I get along well with the dogs at the care facility, though high-energy pups can sometimes overwhelm me. Overall, I’m pretty independent and enjoy doing my own thing. Because of this, I’d thrive best as the only dog in a home, or with a calm, older dog sibling who respects my space and lets me enjoy my peace. · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown. A cat test can be arranged to ensure the best fit! With my mellow nature, I will most likely do well with dog-savvy cats and thoughtful introductions.   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I’m a simple, easygoing gal who loves the calm life. There’s nothing I enjoy more than relaxing, snuggling up, and being a total couch potato — the perfect companion for quiet, cozy moments.   TRAINING & HABITS I walk best in quieter areas, as loud and busy streets can be a bit overwhelming for me. With continued guidance and patience, I’m learning to gain confidence on walks. I don’t guard my food from people or other dogs, and I’m a very quiet pup who rarely barks. I prefer to potty outdoors and know how to rest calmly in my kennel, making me a relaxed and easygoing companion.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself, and a stable environment. A family that understands my rough past and is patient with me throughout. A family that enjoys outdoor & indoor time together. A family that will love and cherish me forever. Ideally, a home where I’ll be an only dog. A family that can match and understand my mellow energy and a quiet environment.   SPECIAL NOTES I’m a Level 2 rescue dog, which means I may need a few days to a week to fully settle into a new home. I’m a sweet, calm girl who doesn’t ask for much — just a loving family to share my days with. Don’t let my older age hold you back! I’m healthy, smart, and full of love, and I know the perfect family is out there waiting for me.   Lingling's YouTube Playlist   Apply to foster or adopt: https://www.welcomedogkorea.org For Inquiries: info@welcomedogkorea.com ##2610017##

Story
Name: Nini Breed: Yorkshire Terrier Gender: Female Age: 12 years Weight: 13 pounds  Spayed/Neutered: Spayed Obtained From: Previous owner Reason for Intake: Began resource guarding from resident dog Up to Date with Vetting: Yes Good with Dogs: Lived with one previously; may resource guard, barks at passing dogs on walks.  No guarding with humans Good with Cats: Unknown Good with Kids: Sweet and gentle; has interacted with a baby Good with Strangers: Yes, friendly with everyone Ever Bitten a Human: No Ever Bitten a Dog: No Fears: Barks at unfamiliar things on walks; sometimes hesitant with stairs Housetrained: Yes Crate Trained: Not sure Good in the Car: Yes Barks When Left Alone: Occasionally, especially at squirrels or loud noises like airplanes Destructive: No Energy Level: Medium Leash Skills: Loves walks; handles manipulation well Known Commands: Sit Current Food: Mix of wet and dry food twice daily Behavioural Issues: None       Meet Nini! Nini is a gentle, 12-year-old Yorkshire Terrier who lives for cozy moments with her people. She loves snuggling up on the couch, relaxing beside her humans, and being part of the daily routine. On walks, she sometimes barks at things she’s unsure about, but it comes more from curiosity than fear—and once she feels secure, she settles easily. She’s incredibly sweet with strangers and has been calm and friendly around a baby.   Nini is fully housetrained, great in the car, and has no history of biting or destructive behaviour. While she previously lived with another dog, she began to resource guard, so an only-dog home may be the best match for her comfort and peace. Her energy level is moderate: she’s always happy to join you for a nice walk, but she’s equally content curling up beside you afterward.   If you’re looking for a loving, calm, snuggly senior companion with lots of life and affection still to give, Nini might be the perfect addition to your home.  December 14, 2025, 9:03 am

Name/Tag#: Alice 4500 Age: 9 years Sex/Altered: Female / Spayed Weight: 6 lbs Breed: Yorkie Foster Home Location: OTTAWA, ON Adoption Fee: $500.00 each Temperament: Sweet, quiet Activity/Energy Level: Low Up to date on Shots: Yes Housebroken: Yes, with prompting Crate Trained: Yes Ok with Dogs: Yes Ok with Cats: Unknown Ok with Kids: Yes, with kids over 10 years Origin: Mass breeding facility Requirements: Adopted with Emma, securely fenced yard, someone home at least part-time, experienced dog owner, no kids under 10 years.   Alice & Emma – A Bonded Pair of Yorkies Looking for Their Forever Home Alice and Emma are a bonded pair of Yorkies whose connection is truly unbreakable. After joining Loyal Rescue, these two girls are discovering how wonderful it feels to be safe, loved, and free. They rely on one another for comfort and confidence and must be adopted together. Though different in personality, they balance each other beautifully—like matching bookends—bringing double the love, sweetness, and joy to a home.  Alice “A tiny dog with a big personality, a playful spirit, and an irresistibly sweet smile.” Alice is the more outgoing sister, full of curiosity and happiness. She loves toys, treats, sunny windows, and zooming around the yard. Walks are still a learning adventure for her, but she’s taking it all in at her own pace and discovering just how fun the world can be. Alice adores affection and makes sure she never misses out on pets—especially if Emma is getting some first. Alice has no teeth, which only adds to her adorable expressions and charming grin, and she happily enjoys a soft diet. At night, she sleeps soundly beside Emma in their cozy crate.  Emma “A gentle heart learning to shine, made stronger by love and her sister’s steady presence.” Emma is sweet, observant, and quietly blossoming. She enjoys peaceful walks, new smells, treats, backyard playtime, and cozy naps curled up with Alice. She approaches new things thoughtfully and gains confidence each day. Emma has a permanent head tilt from a past vestibular episode, which gives her a unique and endearing look, but it doesn’t slow her down or change her happy, loving nature. Together Alice brings confidence and playfulness, while Emma offers calm and reassurance. They are small, easy to bring along, and thrive in a gentle, loving home. In return, they offer double the cuddles, quiet joy, and the privilege of watching two little souls continue to blossom—side by side. If you’re looking for a sweet, loving, and truly special duo, Alice and Emma may be the perfect match for you. Questions? Story
T is for Terrific — and Ted is the very definition of it. Some dogs change your day. Senior dogs like Ted change your heart. Ted is a 13-year-old, young-at-heart Yorkie weighing just 10 pounds. He’s fostered in Toronto. Ted is one of those rare, truly special souls who makes everyone who meets him fall instantly in love. Ted is pure sweetness. He is completely house trained, loves all people, and has lived with small children. He doesn’t ask for much — just the comfort of being near his humans, feeling included, feeling safe, feeling loved. If you sit down, he wants to be beside you. If you move rooms, he’ll follow. His greatest joy in life is simply being close to the people he loves. Ted likes other dogs and is enjoying the 3 dogs in his foster home, though in classic Yorkie fashion he can be a tiny boss and may snap if another dog gets in his face — never out of meanness, just setting boundaries in his own little way. We don’t know how he is with cats but expect he may be ok with a dog savvy cat. Like many seniors, Ted has a few age-related issues - but who doesn’t? He is mostly deaf and has cataracts, but none of that stops him from enjoying life, being affectionate, gentle, and full of heart. Ted has a history of luxating patella and has a history of tracheal collapse, which is common in small breeds and just means he should not jump off the couch and needs to be walked on a harness (although Ted doesn’t really want to be walked on a leash anyway). Ted is used to doing his business in a yard so he will be happiest in a home with a fenced yard. He loves being outside exploring the yard with his family and enjoying the fresh air and companionship. He doesn’t even really mind the cold! Ted is love in dog form. He is loyal, sweet, comforting, and endlessly grateful for kindness. Seniors like him don’t just make wonderful pets — they make deep, meaningful companions, the kind who bring calm, warmth, and quiet joy into a home. We are searching for the very best home for Ted to spend his golden years, surrounded by love — because he deserves nothing less. Everyone who meets him adores him, and we have no doubt you will too. ••••••••• As my foster family gets to know me my profile can change and will be updated accordingly. Check back often for details! An application for me can be found at www.justpaws.ca. Just Paws is located in the Greater Toronto Area of Ontario, Canada. We do not adopt out of province or country. Please note that although many of our dogs get along with children, we are not able to adopt to any household with kids under the age of 8 years old. This is a stipulation of our insurance and is not a reflection on suitability of the potential adopter.
