Story
**IF THIS LISTING IS STILL POSTED THIS DOG IS STILL AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION. NO NEED TO EMAIL ASKING IF THE DOG IS AVAILABLE. PLEASE READ THROUGH THIS BIO THOROUGHLY AS INFORMATION ON HOW TO APPLY IS CONTAINED IN THIS LISTING** For Adoption: Budsy! Please read our dog bios carefully to be sure that the dog you are applying for suits your family and lifestyle. We at PDR believe in the benefits of post-adoption training for our dogs and their families. This allows for continued socialization, learning and helps to create a well-mannered and balanced dog. Post-adoption training is a requirement in our adoption process. To apply for adoption and for more information on our process and requirements, visit our website at https://pounddog.ca/adoption-info/. Budsy is a handsome Yorkie/ShihTzu mixed boy estimated to be 7 years old. He is a small boy, weighing 12 lbs. Budsy has expressive eyes and a scruffy face making him oh so lovable. He is an affectionate, loyal companion with a sweet nature and a calm but funny presence in the home. His name “Budsy” fits him perfectly because he truly wants to be everyone’s little buddy and companion. Budsy came from a Quebec shelter, and little is known about his past. Despite whatever uncertainty he experienced before rescue, Budsy has shown himself to be resilient, affectionate, and eager to connect with people. He will benefit from a patient adopter who can continue building his confidence through routine, positive reinforcement, and consistency. Budsy would do well in a variety of home environments. He enjoys spending time outside, and will happily lay around while you garden in the yard. Budsy has low to medium energy. He enjoys walks, but also lounging on the couch. He is food and treat motivated, which makes training rewarding for him. Budsy has done well with crate training. He will only bark out of excitement of seeing you, or to get your attention. One of Budsy’s best traits is how affectionate and loving he is. He enjoys being close by, soaking up attention, and spending quiet time relaxing after exercise. Budsy has adapted very well to foster home life and enjoys having a comfortable place to rest. Grooming has been manageable, and he tolerates handling well. He is a dog that will require professional grooming every few months and regular brushing to keep him tidy. Budsy has also enjoys car rides and continues gaining confidence with new experiences. Budsy has been great with the other dog in his foster home and enjoys canine companionship. He has shown appropriate social behaviour and would likely do well with another respectful dog after proper introductions. He would also be fine being the only dog in the home. His response to cats is unknown at this time. On walks, Budsy may show interest in dogs, but he is not reactive. Budsy would likely do well with older children, over 8yrs of age, who will honour his boundaries during play. Budsy is still learning how to play appropriately and needs more practice with this. He isn’t one for rough housing or a lot of play though and preference will be given to an adult only home that his calm and quiet. Budsy being highly treat motivated, he can sometimes take treats swiftly. Treats are best served with open palm until he understands treats are in abundance and what the expectations are. Budsy will do well in a positive reinforcement training school where treats are used as an initial motivator. He works eagerly for food!! Post adoption training is required for our adopters and Budsy will enjoy and benefit from the social aspects of this as well as the learning. Budsy has received veterinary care since entering rescue, including vaccinations, a neuter and dental work. He has handled veterinary visits well and continues to settle nicely into a healthy routine. At this time, there are no major health concerns. Budsy is a scruffy love bug of a dog looking for a forever home where he can continue building confidence and enjoying the good life. He will thrive with adopters who can provide consistency, regular exercise, and lots of affection. Budsy’s combination of sweet affection, adaptable energy level, and eagerness to learn make him a wonderful companion. If you are looking for a loyal best friend who wants nothing more than to be your buddy through adventures and quiet evenings at home, Budsy may be the perfect match. Pearl is a charming Yorkie terrier who displays a more submissive demeanor compared to her sister. She possesses a distinctive wiry but wavy coat.   Both puppies are in excellent health and exhibit a robust appetite. Recently, they have begun to explore the outdoors, enjoying the warm weather. We are in search of a nurturing family for Pearl. While a backyard is not mandatory, we prefer a safe, fenced area where she can play, as every dog deserves such an environment. A household with older, considerate children would be most appropriate, given her size.   Pearl has undergone a health examination by a veterinarian and has received her initial set of vaccinations. She will require two additional vaccinations at 12 weeks and 16 weeks of age, which are mandatory and must be completed by any prospective adopter.   Animalert will cover the cost of her spay procedure when she reaches the appropriate age, which will be coordinated through one of our veterinary clinics in London, Ontario area. Pearl has received her first set of puppy vaccines and dewormer, Pearl has also been microchipped. Her adoption fee is $950.00, which includes her health records! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Fergus Ferg is an 11-month-old Yorkie x Shih Tzu mix with a bright personality and a love for learning! This little guy is still very much a puppy at heart and is looking for a home that’s ready to help him grow into his very best self. Ferg does well with dogs his own size but isn’t a fan of larger dogs. He’s also cat-friendly! With people, Fergus prefers a slower introduction, but he warms up quickly and shows his sweet, loyal side. Fergus has previously shown some resource guarding tendencies, particularly around larger dogs. In his current foster home, he’s been doing wonderfully with structure—eating separately and using a slow feeder—which has helped him succeed. He’ll thrive in a home that understands and continues these management strategies. This smart boy is highly food motivated, making training both fun and rewarding! He’s already making great progress with his leash skills and is crate trained, happily settling in his crate at night. Because of his resource guarding, Ferg is looking for a home with no small children—older, respectful kids would be a better fit. He’s not looking to be just a couch companion; Fergus needs an active, committed home that will continue his training, provide structure, and keep his mind engaged. For more information on his backstory, please see Ferg’s welcome post: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1HRNfQm89J/?mibextid=wwXIfr If you’re ready to put in the time and build a strong bond with a clever, loving pup, Ferg might just be your perfect match. These two little girls came into Loyal Rescue together and have been learning what it means to feel safe, loved, and cherished. They rely on each other for comfort and confidence, so they must be adopted together — but trust us, having two only means twice the love, twice the cuddles, and twice the joy. Though their personalities are a little different, they complement each other perfectly. EMMA  A gentle soul with the sweetest heart. Emma is the quieter sister who is blossoming more every day. She enjoys peaceful walks, exploring new smells, backyard time, and snuggling up beside Alice for cozy naps. Emma has a slight head tilt from a past vestibular episode, which gives her an incredibly endearing look, but it doesn’t slow her down one bit. She’s a happy little girl who simply enjoys life.   ALICE A tiny dog with a big personality and an adorable toothless smile. Alice is the outgoing sister. She’s curious, playful, and loves toys, treats, and sunny spots by the window. She enjoys little zoomies around the yard and happily soaks up attention whenever she can. Alice has no teeth, which only makes her even more charming. She does great on a soft diet and her sweet little grin melts hearts everywhere she goes.   TOGETHER Alice brings the playful spark while Emma brings the calm reassurance. They sleep curled up together, explore the world side by side, and truly feel safest when they’re together. They are small, loving companions who would thrive in a quiet, caring home where they can continue to blossom. If you’re looking for a sweet, gentle, ready-made pair of best friends, Alice and Emma may be the perfect addition to your family. Two tiny Yorkies. One beautiful bond.
