Meet Ursa! Ursa is a sweet and gentle little Yorkshire Terrier with a heart full of love. As a breeder release, she’s still learning to trust, but once she feels safe, she adores being held, snuggled, and carried like the tiny princess she is. While she may initially take a step back when approached, don’t be fooled—this loving girl wants nothing more than to be close to her person. Given her gentle nature, she would thrive in a calm, lower-traffic home where she can feel safe and cherished and where her personality will continue to blossom. Due to her breeder background she is afraid of fast movements, loud TVs, and loud voices. Because Ursa is still building confidence, she will need a secure, fenced yard or must remain on a leash at all times. Right now, she doesn’t yet come when called, but when she bonds with her family this may change. Her current foster home does not have a doggy door, so she hasn’t had the chance to come and go freely. She is okay with being on leash. Ursa currently lives with larger dogs and gets along well with them, though she would be happiest with at least one other small dog for companionship. Breeder releases often need at least one other dog in the home they can bond with and learn from. Ursa also shares her space with a cat but prefers to ignore it. She is potty trained to go outside, use potty pads, and is kennel trained—though given the choice, she’d much rather be curled up beside you. At night, her favorite place is right on her foster mom, soaking up warmth and love.
