Story
It is with a heavy heart that I am seeking a loving new home for my 8-year-old Yorkshire Terrier. He is a loyal, affectionate companion who enjoys relaxing, short walks, and staying close to his person. As he has gotten older, he thrives in a calm environment with consistent attention and routine. Due to an increasingly demanding schedule, I’m no longer able to provide the level of care and presence he needs, especially as he enters his senior years. This decision has been incredibly difficult, and my priority is finding a home where he will be loved and well cared for. He would do best with someone who is home often, such as a retiree or remote worker. I’m happy to share more details with serious inquiries to ensure the right match.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Ripley is a senior Yorkie with the sweetest little old-man heart. He is gentle, quiet, and easy to love — the kind of dog who is simply happy to have a warm home, a soft blanket, and kind people nearby. He enjoys exploring at his own pace, lounging on the couch, and taking peaceful afternoon naps tucked into something fuzzy. Ripley is blind, so he appreciates a calm, thoughtful home where people move gently around him and talk to him before picking him up. Loud noises and abrupt movements can startle him, but with patience and reassurance, he settles in and makes wonderful company. He may be shy at first, especially after all he has been through, but he warms up beautifully when given time and kindness. Outside, Ripley loves to wander, sniff, and take in all the smells, so he would be happiest with a secure fenced yard where he can safely explore. He gets along perfectly with other friendly dogs, but he could also do well as an only dog if his people are home most of the time. He has not shown much interest in toys, but he is a big fan of soft treats and cozy couch time. Ripley is affectionate, well-mannered, gentle, and sweet in the quietest way. He does not ask for much — just a safe place to land, a patient family to love him, and a soft blanket to call his own. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.    ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Want to meet me? Come to the Underdog Headquarters (3345 Dakota Ave, St. Louis Park, 55416) on Thursday, May 14th from 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm. Please email inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com for questions regarding the dogs. Michael is a quiet, gentle little Yorkie with a soft soul who is still learning that people can be kind.   He is naturally very shy and cautious, and new people or sudden movements can feel overwhelming to him. When approached too quickly, his instinct is to run and find a safe space. But underneath that fear is a truly sweet and even-tempered dog who has never shown any signs of aggression—even when being picked up or handled for things like baths.   Michael is also a smart little guy who is already starting to show small but meaningful signs of trust. He will now take treats gently from your hand, a big step forward for him, and it’s clear that with patience, he will continue to build confidence at his own pace.   He enjoys the company of other dogs and feels comforted by them. He greets other dogs nicely and would likely benefit from a calm, confident canine companion to help show him the ropes and make him feel more secure.   Michael walks nicely on a leash and does well going outside for potty breaks, though he is still learning that all pottying should happen outdoors. He will need continued guidance and consistency as he settles into a routine.   Loud noises can be scary for him, so he’s looking for a quieter, low-traffic home where he can feel safe and not overwhelmed. A patient, understanding adopter who will let him move at his own pace will be key to helping him truly blossom. Because of his timid nature, he would do best in a home without young or unpredictable children.   One of Michael’s simple joys is chewing on a good marrow bone, and of course, he never says no to a tasty treat.   Michael may not be the dog who runs up to greet you right away—but for someone willing to give him the time, space, and love he needs, he has the potential to form a deep and meaningful bond. Watching him grow in confidence and learn to trust will be incredibly rewarding. All Michael needs is someone willing to go slow…and show him that the world can be a safe and loving place. Story
He’s a good dog overall with a lot of love to give, but he does have some behaviors that require the right home. He can be reactive toward other animals and may bark or show aggression, and while he may initially bark at new people, he tends to warm up quickly once properly introduced. He isn’t comfortable around children or high-energy environments. I am at least his second home, so his exact age is unknown, though vets estimate he is between 3–6 years old. He is potty trained, eager to please, and very affectionate with his primary caregiver—he even “smiles,” which is one of his sweetest traits. He doesn’t play with toys and prefers canned food or softened dry food. He enjoys short walks and car rides. He can become possessive or aggressive with bones or long-lasting treats, so those should be avoided. He would do best in a calm, low-activity home with a single person or an older couple, no other pets or children, and someone who can give him plenty of patience and love.

Story
Hi, my name is Ari and I am from Kentucky! Ari is an affectionate and energetic puppy. He’s a little timid when first meeting someone new but quickly warms up to show his silly, loving self. Ari sleeps in his crate at night with no issues or fussing. He is potty trained on a schedule. If he has any accidents, it’s due to us missing his cues. Ari would love to have a canine friend or two to play and hang out with. He was fostered with his siblings but with them finding their homes, he’s missing his play buddies. Ari will make a great addition to any family with his funny and affectionate ways.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Zavia and her 3 siblings found themselves dumped, unwanted and in a high kill shelter in West Texas. They are good with other dogs, and people, but cats are unknown. All dogs and puppies require supervision and training to be successful. She is Crate Trained; House Trained; Kennel Trained: Leash Training is in progress.  People:  She is reserved and skittish until she feels safe with you. We are working on making her feel comfortable with strangers.   She loves to play - like chasing balls in the backyard and often brings it back to you.  When she is tired, she loves to snuggle.  Dogs: she is fearful of dogs, but we are in the process of getting her out to meet other dogs on a regular basis.  Cats are unknown.  She will quietly lay on her bed while you work on your computer and is a sweetheart. First priority will go to someone who lives in the twin cities metro in order to bring to a vetting appointment near the end of May.  Please put in your application on our website mattysheartandsoulanimalrescue.rescuegroups.org.      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 13, 2026, 8:56 am
