Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Yorck is from Texas. He was rescued from a high kill shelter there after being found wandering the streets. He was in fairly good condition, but a little malnourished. He's been in rescue for a bit now, and has started to put a little weight back on and his fur is starting to come back in as well! It's so nice and soft now too! He's a sweet little scruffy boy that wants nothing more than to sit in your lap and stare at you with adoration. He's a perfect little lap dog and absolutely adores being snuggled. Yorck has been working so hard on his potty training, and I can proudly proclaim that he hasn't had a single accident in the past week, and we haven't had a belly band on in over 3 days. There will always be a bit of regression during times of change, but at least we know that he "gets it".. he knows that we go outside to go to the bathroom. He has never pooped in the house, it was more of a marking situation, so I would strongly recommend using belly bands until he readjusts in his new home. when he has 2 days of dry belly bands, he should be good to go.. no belly band required! Yorck is completely kennel trained. You will have to actually put him in the kennel, but he settles immediately and naps quietly while kenneled. He has a bit of resource guarding with his food, but we have been feeding him in his kennel, so it hasn't even been an issue. I would recommend to continue feeding him in his kennel, as well as giving any high value treats there. Yorck's typical day looks something like this.. 8am - out of kennel and potty break. He has breakfast when he comes back in, fed in his kennel, and then back outside about 30 minutes later for another potty break. After breakfast, he's out with my two residents all day long. He really enjoys having little doggie friends.. lol Noon - another potty break and then an enrichment snack/lickmat 5pm - dinner in his kennel and then another potty break. he is allowed to be out and just part of the family until about 9-10pm when he is given his last potty break of the night and is then kenneled until the following morning. He sleeps soundly and doesn't make a peep all night. Yorck loves to get on your lap and give kisses. He’s a good dog who is looking for his forever home! If you're looking for a loving, affectionate, and playful pup to join your family, Yorck might be the perfect match for you!
