Story
7-year-old Male Yorkshire Terrier | 5 lbs Scooter is a tiny 5-pound, 7-year-old Yorkie with a gentle heart and a quiet soul. He is a former breeder dog, so he can be very shy at first. When meeting new people, Scooter may slowly back away until he feels safe. With patience and kindness, he quickly learns he can trust you—and once he does, he becomes a sweet little snuggle buddy. He does fit nicely in a satchel or carrying bag. Scooter is an exceptionally quiet dog. In fact, I’ve only heard him bark once since he’s been in my care. He loves to sit beside his person or curl up on a warm lap and simply enjoy being close. He does need to be watched as he has started lap guarding with the other dogs. When not protecting moms lap, he is great with other dogs and came in with Gertrude as a breeding pair. 🩺 Medical & Special Care Scooter has an eye condition with limited vision. Because of this, he currently requires two different eye drops twice daily. He handles his care well and is otherwise doing fine. He will have a recheck on Friday 1/30 to see if the eye drops help or if they are needed in the future. He gets around fine. Due to cold weather, Scooter currently refuses to go outside, so he wears a belly band and is not fully potty trained. If taken outside, he would need a secure fenced yard. A patient home that understands his background and is willing to continue working with very shy dogs will help him thrive. Fast movements are scary for breeder release dogs. 💙 Ideal Home Scooter would do best in a quiet, loving home with:    •   Patience and gentle handling    •   Another small dog companion    •   A calm environment, no kids.    •   Someone who enjoys a cuddly lap dog Once Scooter knows you’re safe, he will reward you with trust, affection, and the sweetest companionship. Apply to adopt at www.campcompanion.org Adoption fee is $350 plus tax.

Story
Gertrude is a sweet but shy 7.5-lb Yorkie who has been released from a breeding situation and is now ready to experience the love she’s always deserved. Though timid at first, Gertrude blossoms once she feels safe. When trust is earned, she becomes a devoted snuggle buddy who enjoys sharing cuddles and companionship. She gets along well with other dogs and cats and is adorably curious—always wanting to know what’s going on around her. Gertrude is making progress with potty training but will need continued consistency to master it. She is working on learning to walk on a leash, though she will need a patient adopter willing to continue helping her build confidence. A securely fenced yard is required, as she is a flight risk and may try to dart out an open door. Careful door management will be important to keep this little girl safe. She would do best with another dog and shares cuddles easily. Scared dogs like little Gertrude do better in adult only homes or with homes with older kids who will understand when the dog feels nervous and might need space. Fast movements are very scary for these breeder release dogs who have lived their life unsocialized. Gerty is a truly special pup just waiting for the right lap to fill! If you’re willing to be patient with her, she will reward you with so much love! Gertrude is having her teeth cleaned on Tuesday Feb. 3 and can be adopted that next weekend. Adoption fee: $350 + tax Apply to adopt: www.campcompanion.org

Story
***Drako is BONDED to Blakely and they need to be adopted together!***Meet Drako and Blakely! This mixed/matched pair found themselves in a Texas impound after their owner died and there were too many animals in the home for family to take in. They spent some time in this rescue where they learned how bonded these two were. When separated, they become incredibly stressed, depressed, and shut down. However, once they are reunited with each other, they become happy, confident and loving! They were having trouble finding a rescue that was able to take them both so they then made the long journey to Minnesota to come to our facility! Blakely is the younger one at roughly about 1 year old where her buddy Drako is about 2 or 3. Blakely was estimated to be some sort Kelpie mix, but it is really hard to say for sure. Drako is estimated to be some sort of Maltese or yorkie mix. This adorable pair is on the hunt to find their perfect forever home where they can spend their days playing, cuddling up together, and romping through a yard. If you have room in your house and heart for these two, apply online today!Adoption fee for the pair is $400 + $30 microchip fee (each) + tax

Story
Meet Our “Gentleman’s Club 7” Breeder-Release Maltese Dogs 🌼 (Reginald, Clarence, Edwin, Percival, Wilfred, Bertram, and Theodore) Meet Edwin 💙 — a tiny 7-lb Maltese with a huge personality and a talent for making people laugh. Edwin is a funny little guy who brings big, joyful energy… especially when other dogs are around. Living in a home with people is still new to him. Edwin will hang around near humans but is still scared of being touched. However, he did let people pet him at a recent adoption event when his foster mom was holding him. What he lacks in confidence with people, he more than makes up for in his love of dogs — they make him very happy and help him feel safe. Edwin is under-socialized, but with patience, gentle handling, and consistent, kind routines, he can begin to feel secure and learn what it means to be loved. He’ll do best in a calm home that lets him move at his own pace and celebrates small wins. He walks well on a leash if he’s accompanied by another dog. Edwin is doing well going potty outside on a schedule with the help of his foster family’s dogs as role models. However, he may still have potty accidents at times if his scheduled potty routine isn’t closely followed. REQUIREMENTS: • Edwin must have another social dog in the home (all sizes are fine!) Adoption fee: $350.00 + tax Apply to adopt: www.campcompanion.org Edwin is looking for a patient, dog-savvy home where he can feel safe, follow a confident canine friend, and let his big personality shine. 🐾

Story
🌼 Meet Our “Gentleman’s Club 7” Breeder-Release Maltese Dogs 🌼 (Reginald, Clarence, Edwin, Percival, Wilfred, Bertram, and Theodore) Hi, I’m Bertram. I’m adjusting to life in a house, where I can sleep on dog beds and play with toys. It’s been a lot to take in and a lot to learn, but I’m starting to get the hang of things. I love lying on comfy spots! My favorite space was a big dog bed in the living room, but lately I’ve been liking the couch. My foster parents and I like to relax in bed after a long day, and I enjoy snuggling up by their knees. Sometimes they’ll gently move me closer to them, which can be a little scary right away, but then I realize I like it. I’m learning to go potty outside, and I’m doing a pretty good job. I have some furry foster siblings, and I don’t mind them. I prefer the calmer, sleepier ones overall the really playful types I think. I have some nervousness around humans, due to my past, so I probably wouldn’t come up to you right away, or even in the first few weeks. But if you slowly approach me and pick me up, I’ll settle down into your lap and spend some time with you. I don’t enjoy being pet a ton yet though. I’m still learning! Do you have a calm space I could reside in, and have the patience to let me learn how to be loved by humans? Apply to adopt me at campcompanion.org. My adoption fee is $350 plus tax. *Bertram will most likely need dental work in the future
