Nico’s learned to love with everything he has. Rescued from a hoarding situation with 18 other Chihuahuas, Nico came from a world where space was crowded, attention was scarce, and safety wasn’t guaranteed. And yet—despite all of that—this little one-eyed gentleman chose love. He chose people. He chose closeness. Nico is a true cuddle bug in every sense of the word. If he had his way, he’d spend the entire day curled up on the bed beside you, tucked into blankets and pillows, soaking in the comfort he waited so long to have. He follows his people everywhere, always wanting to be close, always making sure you’re nearby. Treats are one of his love languages (especially a whipped cream pup cup), and car rides feel like tiny adventures he’s always happy to join. Toys are fun for Nico, but he likes to take his time. New environments can feel big, so he may need a little patience before his playful side fully comes out—but when it does, it’s worth the wait. Nico enjoys the company of other dogs, especially when introductions happen slowly and thoughtfully. When it comes to his favorite humans, though, he prefers to keep them all to himself. People are his safe place, and he has so much love to give once he knows you’re his. He loves food but eats in small portions, and he’s still learning boundaries and manners—making wonderful progress every day. He’s working on his leash skills and is quickly learning how to tell his fosters when it’s time to go outside. Nico is house trained, crate trained, and generally very quiet, though being with his people is always his favorite option. This little one-eyed man has a way of stealing hearts without even trying. He’s gentle, affectionate, and always ready for the next cozy adventure—whether that’s a car ride, a short walk, or simply a quiet afternoon at home. Nico would do best in a calm, loving home with older, gentle children or a senior or retired household where he can soak up all the companionship he’s been missing. After everything he’s been through, what he wants most is simple: a soft place to land, steady routines, and someone to love him as much as he loves them. And trust us—loving Nico is the easiest thing in the world. January 29, 2026, 9:58 pm
