Hi, my name is Olivia, I am from Alabama. Olivia is the bravest little dog! She's spunky and playful and she's got a big personality in that tiny body! She's also got the wildest case of bed head ever, but we still think she's the cutest little thing ever! Olivia came from a pretty terrible situation, so some normal dogs things are hard for her. She's not the biggest fan of being grabbed or picked up, and new humans can be especially scary for her - she's learned how to use her voice to tell you about it. She doesn't really understand leashes or outside, but she's working really hard on figuring out where exactly she's supposed to go to the bathroom (but she's got potty pads mostly figured out). However, Olivia loves a lap to snuggle in and head scratches. She also loves cozy blankets, riding around in her stroller, and wearing little sweaters. Olivia would do well living with other dogs, hopefully ones closer to her size! She doesn't quite understand that she's a little dog, and she's pretty sure that our pitty would make a great playmate - if he wasn't so afraid of her. Young kids might be a bit much for her though, as she does not like to be chased or grabbed at - but she might do well with respectful children. Olivia is overall just a very fun little dog and we would love for you to meet her!

Hi, my name is Sage, I am from Alabama. From her foster: Sage came to rescue from a hoarding situation. She is very sweet, but also very hesitant to trust people. She gets along beautifully with dogs and is very gentle. We have learned that she loves mealtime and treats. Sage is still very leery of being touched and I have to corner her to be able to pick her up. She sleeps in bed with all of us at night. She is really good about using potty pads. It has been too cold to start going outside and she has no idea how to walk on a leash so we are staying in for now. She will likely need a dental (paid for by The Bond Between) and will be scheduled for a spay. She is visiting with the vet soon. If you’ve ever wanted to help a dog learn what it is like to be loved, adopting a dog from a bad situation is extremely rewarding. You will need patience, a gentle, quiet personality, and more patience. Sage will feel most comfortable in a home with another dog. I don't know if she has ever met a cat, but I doubt she would hurt one. She is a flight risk. From the Vet: At Sage's Intake vetting exam with our Rescue Medical Team, Sage was noted to have several missing/discolored teeth. TBB will be pursuing a Dental COHAT surgery for Sage to further evaluate, clean and remove any teeth that are severely diseased. This procedure could potentially be coupled with her spay with one or our partner hospitals, so as soon as we are able to medically clear her for surgery with healthy blood work, TBB will schedule the procedure.

Hi, my name is Mindi, I am from Alabama. From her foster: Mindi is a very sweet girl that really loves snuggling with her trusted humans. She had some hair loss and itchy skin when she arrived, but, is improving with treatment and time. Mindi enjoys taking naps in the sun, and she's started to play with toys and the small resident dog. She doesn't like the cold very much (I don't blame her), but, will go potty outdoors if foster mom carries her outside. Mindi sleeps quietly in her kennel at night with just a few whimpers to complain when placed in her kennel. Mindi is initially shy when she meets new people, but, warms up pretty quickly. From the Vet: Mindi came into rescue from a difficult breeder release situation. Her skin health is poor due to the previous poor living conditions and the vet suspects mites like demodex +/- allergies could be the cause. She will continue on a medicated shampoo and any allergy control support while in rescue. Once her skin is cleared up, hopefully in a few weeks, we will plan to have her spayed and get a much needed dental cleaning with extractions considered likely. TBB will cover the dental procedure along with associated medications and 1 recheck as determined necessary by The BB Vet Team or an approved veterinary partner. We are hopeful that coming to rescue and getting the TLC she desperately needed, she will become a wonderful addition to her new family!

Hi, my name is Martha. I am from Alabama. From her foster: This is Martha, also known by her fosters at Marty! Martha came all the way from Alabama from a puppy mill/hoarder type house and needless to say she arrived to us in need of some TLC. However, regardless of her up bringing, she is a very sweet girl. She is very tolerant of being held and loves to cuddle up next to you on the couch. We've been giving her medicated baths which she also does well with. She has been using potty pads pretty well so far but has had a couple accidents. We are currently working on going potty outside with the resident dogs. Martha is very food motivated which is helpful with training. She does good with our resident dogs and cats. Although she does like pets and cuddles she still seems to get nervous when being approached and will sometimes run away.

Hi, my name is Calvin. I am from Alabama. From the Vet: Calvin came from a situation with poor conditions/medical care. His skin needed some TLC that we are supporting with medication/shampoo and other anti-itch therapies. He has fairly severe dental disease so TBB will plan to send him for dental surgery with his neuter procedure. He will receive a thorough cleaning with a possibility of extractions. If adopted shortly after the procedure, he may need some softened kibble or canned food for a period of time. Beyond that, we hope that he finds a soft and deservedly loving forever home. He has been through so much and we can't wait to see him thrive!

Hi, my name is Carl, I am from Alabama. From his foster: Carl is a sweet and shy boy who is looking for a quiet home. Carl was recently rescued from a Puppy Mill that was shutdown due to neglect and living conditions. He has had a rough start on life and needs a quiet, understanding home that can help him learn what love is. At this time he is not potty-trained because he is too scared of the new environment of the back yard. We have been taking him outside to get used to it, and are hopeful that once it is no longer a scary place, he can be house-trained. Carl needs a home with no small kids as fast movement and loud sounds are terrifying for him. Carl has done well with the small dog in the house, though he has been pretty shutdown, so there is not much interaction.
