Story
adoption donation : To be determined weight 16 lbs  Age: 1 year and 3 years Bert and his brother Ernie are full brothers, but were born two years apart, Bert is the younger of the two, he has a stubby tail and loves to run and play. Ernie has shorter legs and a longer, fuller tail, and he is just a cuddle bug, he really just wants to be on your lap! Bert and Ernie are sweet and loving dogs who really love each other. They cuddle together and chase and play, they would love to stay together. They appear to be some kind of Yorkie terrier mixes, and may have some miniature schnauzer in them as well. They are both 16 pounds  Bert and Ernie’s original owners in Mississippi had a house full of small dogs, but recently were evicted from their home and so wag stepped into help, getting the dogs, spayed and neutered and vaccinated, and looking for loving homes. Now it’s Bert and Ernie’s turn!  Both boys have had their vaccinations and has been neutered. Both Bert and Ernie are coming up to the northeast on Friday, December 20 ready to find loving families of their own, hopefully for the holidays!  Wags is a struggling 501(c) 3 where one woman in rural Mississippi takes care of about 150 homeless and stray dogs.  Adoption donations are the only source of funding for the rescue. Adoption fee includes the transport from Mississippi, vaccines, microchip and spay and neuter at one of the clinics we use. Story
Adoption Donation  $ 399   Located in RI Approximately 9 years old Weighs 11 pounds   Prepare to fall in love with Dutchess, a sweet senior who will brighten your day! This girl loves being held and napping in a warm lap. Dutchess is also a big fan of car rides. Loves to feel the breeze in her whiskers. She is crate trained, potty trained, and good on leash. We believe that she's a yorkie/chi mix. She's  searching for a quiet home where she will be get lots of tlc and & walks. Because she came from an animal free household, she is nervous around dogs. She could live in a home with another senior low-key respectful dog her size who isn't looking for a playmate, or a respectful cat. Duchess is healthy, has recently had a dental, and soon will be spayed. During her dental, the veterinarian removed a growth from her mouth. We're waiting for the biopsy to come back. She has that old dog cloudiness in her eyes, but it doesn't seem to affect her vision overly much..  If you are interested in adopting Dutchess aka Sweetie, please fill out an application on our website  www.fohari.org  and email my foster parent for more information:  genamruss@gmail.com Please verify the location and readiness of this dog with us.  Because we save lives from various locations through out the United States, some dogs may not be in New England yet, nor ready for immediate adoption.   Our adoption application can be found here: https://fohari.org/application/  Our Adoption Process:   Go to our website and select the animal you are interested in. ALL animals are in foster homes as we do NOT have a  shelter where you can visit. Some animals are in foster care in New England, and some are located in other states. If the initials following the animals name are a state, then that is the state where the animal is located. If initials are not a state, then those are the initials of the foster home outside of New England and you will not be able to meet the animal ahead of time. Complete our online application You will be contacted by phone or email by the foster parent  or a member of our adoption team and will have the opportunity to find out more about the animal, and ask any questions that you have to ensure the animal is a good fit for your household. If the animal is local, you can meet the animal, but you would not be able to take the dog home until you are approved to adopt.  From our end, we will check references and schedule a home visit.  If you live in an apartment, or a condo, we will need to verify permission to own the animal from your landlord or condo board. Please let your vet’s office and references know we will be contacting them. If your  references are positive, we will schedule a home visit by a volunteer. Please try to accommodate the home visit volunteer as most  have busy schedules. Delays in the visit will result in a delay in the adoption. Once you are approved, you will receive an e-mail with your  adoption contract attached. This e-mail will have details about pick up, the balance of the adoption fee that is owed, etc. Please email your signed & witnessed contract and pay your adoption fee in full, and for any animals located out of state, you will be contacted for details about transport to New England. Once you have paid your adoption fee in full and sent back your contract, you can make arrangement to pick up your animal from the foster home or from transport depending on where the animal is located. Please bring a harness, collar, ID tag and leash when you are picking up the dog unless otherwise instructed by the foster parent. Our extensive approval process is intended to ensure the best fit between our animals and adopters. Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA) reserves the right to deny any adoption application with or without disclosure of cause. Your adoption fee helps to cover the cost of all age appropriate vetting and transportation. FOHARI.ORG makes no explicit or implicit guarantees in reference to the health, temperament and/or the breed of the animal. The animal is adopted ‘as is’, and the adopter assumes all responsibility for treatment of any and all existing conditions or any other conditions of physical or temperament changes that may occur. FOHARI.ORG will provide the animal with the basic vaccines, heart worm test and sterilization of dogs and cats before adoption if the age and current health of the animal permits. While FOHARI.ORG makes every effort to place only healthy animals, FOHARI.ORG cannot guarantee the health of any animal, and shall not be held responsible for any medical expenses that may be incurred. Rescuer will provide information received from the veterinarian exam, observations on the temperament of the animal and a best guess of the breed. Friends of Homeless Animals Inc. Story
Meet Zeke, a lovable 7-year-old boy born on April 5, 2017. While we adore him, our growing family and busy schedules make it difficult to provide the attention and space he deserves. We're seeking a loving home for Zeke where he can thrive. Zeke is a sweet and cuddly companion who loves to snuggle up on the couch for movie nights. Although he can be a bit anxious when left alone, he's much happier and more relaxed around another furry friend. We believe Zeke would be happiest in a home with another dog to keep him company or with an owner who is frequently at home. If you're looking for a loyal and affectionate companion, Zeke is the perfect dog for you. Please reach out with any questions. We can't wait to find him a forever home where he'll be cherished.

Story
DOB Christmas Day 12-25-2023 Kevin is for sure an angel. He loves to play with the other pups, toys and is social. Kevin us neutered, heartworm negative and has received a Proheart 6 preventative injection. His adoption fee is 950.00, transport fee is 165.00 and paid to our transport company, HEARTS LLC He will get a physical and health certificate before he leaves. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.
