Story
Peeka is a lovely spayed little girl who is a mix of Yorkie and Wired Hair Terrier. She is seven years old, weighs 10 lbs., and is full of love. Peeka is current on all her vaccinations. She is house-trained and crate-trained and loves sleeping in bed with you. She is very active. Sweet little Peeka was left outside without supervision and wandered the streets in Greeley, within her neighborhood. Peeka is a little bundle of love who adores attention and snuggles with her humans. She especially loves going on her daily walks and lets you know when it's time to go. Peeka practically puts her harness on herself! Once she settles down in her new home, which, with all Yorkies, it takes at least two weeks before she feels comfortable in her new home. She loves belly rubs and treats. She gets along with children, but other dogs are not her favorite; therefore, she would be better off being the only dog in the household. We are requesting a stay-at-home adult or one who works from home. She must have a secure fenced yard. Peeka loves being outside, but with the Colorado predators, one must always be outside with her. No apartment, Condo, or Townhome for this little one.

Story
Sasha is a tiny pocket rocket ready to steal your heart! Weighing in at a mighty 6lbs this Maltese/Yorkie mix does not lack energy or curiosity! She loves to go for walks and play fetch… and once she’s finally worn out have a good belly rub and snuggle session! She loves people (unknown with kids) she is indifferent to small dogs but barks and is scared of larger breeds. She is also very keen on chasing anything that resembles prey….for this reason Sasha would do best in a home without cats or small animals! She would also appreciate a family who is diligent in helping her not escape the house to chase a squirrel..she just can’t help it!  Sasha is still working on being 100% potty trained but she walks well on leash and even knows how to sit on command! She does love to use her voice and barks/howls often to tell you what shes thinking…usually that she just wants to be with you! She is still working on gaining weight but is happy to eat you out of house and home!  Sasha is so excited to find a family just as happy and energetic as she is, she can’t wait to play with you! Story
Our compassionate Texas rescuers saved the life of this very sweet and irresistible Yorkie / Australian Terrier mix with hopes of transporting him to Colorado for a new and wonderful life. We're uncertain exactly what Alfie's history was or how he landed at a scary Texas shelter, but what we do know is that this little guy won the hearts of so many. Alfie's cuteness and the power of his sweet and loving personality motivated his rescuers to save his precious life. This irresistible pup is now safe and sound (and so happy) awaiting his transport to a wonderful new life in Colorado. Alfie, at 7 years old is such a great age. He's old enough to be beyond babyish behaviors but young enough to embrace a new life with excited anticipation at the many active and healthy years ahead. Alfie weighs approximately 13 pounds of cottony-soft fluffiness and loves his rescuer more than anything in the world. Alfie is the perfect size and temperament for couch and bed cuddles, fun playtimes and neighborhood walks. This little guy would be a perfect choice for an older adopter who is seeking a best friend in their life. He will be the perfect companion for warming his favorite person's lap and bringing tons of love and silliness to their life. Alfie is such a devoted and smart little guy. A much more relaxed and comfortable Alfie is emerging since he's been released from the scary shelter environment. Initially this poor pup was so frightened due to all the changes in his life, but with patience and love, he's truly blossoming! Alfie loves his days with his rescuers! He enjoys his time where he can socialize with dog-loving neighbors and go on long walks for exercise and sniffing. Won't he be perfect for those gorgeous days where he can leisurely meet dog-loving people with their pups for conversation and loving pets. Farfel's Rescue would like to see Alfie in a home with loving and devoted retirees that spends lots of time at home, or enjoy taking their furry best friend along on their adventures. A younger family that works from a home-based office would also be a good choice for this precious guy. Alfie is a very positive spirit who can be fun at home and also a perfect take-along sized guy. It's so easy to just scoop him up and snuggle him under your arm. He enjoys the car and is very happy riding along strapped into his car seat so he can watch all the activities outside his window.. Alfie is at his absolute best with dog-crazy adults or older children. He seems to enjoy the quiet loving energy that both bring to a home. A couple of daily walks with some backyard play followed by time on the couch or bed watching a favorite TV show would speak to this loving little dog. Alfie would be overjoyed to be part of a family that enjoys their leisure as well as active times. It would match his own energy level and he will be a very happy, full-time best friend. Alfie enjoys his relationships with like-sized, gentle dogs but is unknown with cats. We believe he came from a situation with other dogs and seems to enjoy them. He does well as long as they're respectful of his smaller size and quieter ways. We feel that Alfie would also love life as an only dog with a family that will shower full-time love and pampering on him. He would return that love and kindness a million times over as he falls more and more in love with his new family. Alfie appears to be a non-shedding dog..but we can't promise. He will therefore require a lifelong commitment to periodic grooming (approximately every 3 months) and excellent nutrition. A daily salmon oil supplement coupled with a very healthy diet of 5 star food will keep this gorgeous guy's hair cottony-soft, matte-free and shining with good health. Alfie has been fully vetted and vaccinated to fulfill Farfel's commitment to adopting out only healthy dogs. He has also been neutered to work toward a euthanasia - free future in the canine population. Alfie will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Saturday 11/2/2024. If interested in this cute, cuddly and very loving best friend, please fill out an application completely at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ and submit. **PLEASE NOTE**. If you're truly interested in adopting Alfie please be sure to submit the Farfel's Rescue adoption application that can be found at the link above or at farfels.com. Rescue site applications such as Petfinder or Adoptapet don't provide enough information for us to determine a great match for this very deserving dog and therefore aren't useful. We're sorry, but in many circumstances, we're unable to get back to those those that don't submit a Farfel's adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue!

Story
Sweet Harlow is an easy going gal who has been getting along with all the other dogs in the house. She appears to be housetrained, crate trained and loves to be with her people! This dog was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas. Meet and greets are by appointment only.  An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events! We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time.  When we do, it will be updated here.  This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above.  Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. Dogs adopted with our rescue come with FREE training from #GoodPup to help you build strong bonds from the start! If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free Pet insurance.  We are not affiliated with Pet First pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect).  Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico.  While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.   More questions?  Read our FAQs here: https://4p4l.org/faqs/  Breed labels are a "best guess" by a shelter veterinarian and cannot be guaranteed.  A new study has concluded that (in layman's terms), breed assumption is NOT indicative of behavior in mixed breed dogs.  Therefore, if a dog looks presumably to be a German Shepherd breed, one cannot assume the dog will have a high prey drive.  From the study: "Although many physical traits were associated with breeds, behavior was much more variable among individual dogs. In general, physical trait heritability was a greater predictor of breed but was not necessarily a predictor of breed ancestry in mutts. Among behavioral traits, biddability—how well dogs respond to human direction—was the most heritable by breed but varied significantly among individual dogs. Thus, dog breed is generally a poor predictor of individual behavior and should not be used to inform decisions relating to selection of a pet dog" - https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/science.abk0639 ##2229344##
