Story
Quirky Greta is a scruffy little terrier mix who is approx. 7 years young, 7 lbs, and looking for her perfect person.  Background: For several days, Greta and her pal Buffy were running around terrified and unable to be caught by concerned neighbors. HARTT stepped in to help trap these girls and they made their way to foster homes where they await forever homes.  Personality: Greta is sweet, cuddly, and loving, but selective with her affections. She chooses her people, and there's no apparent pattern to whom she adores and whom she fears. If you happen to be one of her favorites, she loves you deeply. She'll roll over for belly rubs and give you the sweetest little kisses. Greta enjoys lounging in her stroller, playing with toys, and chewing on bully sticks. (Greta's stroller will join her when she gets adopted.) Health: Greta is up to date on all vaccines, spayed, microchipped, and recently had a dental cleaning. Training: Greta is house-trained and crate-trained.  Ideal Home: Greta requires a special home with love and patience. She would thrive in a child-free home with a confident female owner who will help her out of her comfort zone. (Sorry, fellas, Greta does not like men.) She likes to be spoken to in a high pitched baby voice. Greta is used to being around many different dogs in her foster home, but does best with small, calm dogs. She is also fine with cats but would likely do well as an only pet. Greta will not use a dog door and likes someone to accompany her when she goes outside. A secure, fenced-in yard is essential to ensure her safety. Adoption Requirements: Greta’s adoption fee is $350. If you live in the Phoenix metro area, have secure fencing, and think she could be the right fit for you, please complete an adoption application*: helpadogsmile.org/adoption-application  *Please note that the application is not a commitment to adopt–it is a tool used to help determine if a dog and applicant would make a good match. Applications are forwarded to the foster family for review and follow-up.  January 25, 2025, 11:02 pm

Story
Cliff and Chariot are adorable Yorkie mixes (more than (75% Yorkie). They were surrendered by a family who had too many dogs. They are learning about being house pets for the first time. They are very attached to each other but also get along with other dogs. They are initially a bit shy but not exactly fearful. They warm up quickly and are really sweet and attentive but not overly needy. They are so deserving of a kind loving home of their own. They are smart and eager to make you happy. They are almost 1 1/2 years old and weigh approximately 12 lbs. Their coats are easy to maintain and do not require frequent trips to the groomer. They will still need to learn a bit more in the potty training department but they are using the dog door and are very smart! Cliff and Chariot’s combined adoption fee is $700. This fee includes at least one health exam at our veterinarian while in our care, altering, all vaccinations including rabies (as permitted by age), a pre-adoption professional grooming and a microchip with lifetime membership that never will cost you a fee. All dogs also leave with a new collar and or harness and leash as well as a gift bag which includes among other things, a starter bag of the quality kibble that is being fed at the rescue. Adoption fees also allow us the ability to put funds towards the next homeless or unwanted dog in need of rescue! If you would like to be considered to for this adoption or any of our amazing rescues, please fill out the application with the help of this link. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/AZST/Dog. We review each application carefully. Please understand that sometimes we get numerous applications for specific dogs and as a volunteer-based rescue, we do not always have the time to respond to each one. We do our best to choose the most suitable home for each dog based on their specific personality and needs. Please note you MAY NOT be contacted for up to 10 days to schedule a meet and greet if your family is the most suitable for this rescue dog. Regrettably, we do not have the manpower currently to contact all applicants. We keep ALL applications in our database so please feel free to contact us when you see another dog of interest. We appreciate all applicants and do our best to pair every dog and family for a successful and happy life.

Please contact Constance (connibouchard@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.Important InformationPlease read!If you are interested in me after reading about me, please visit my site, http://www.breederadoptions.org and follow the instructions. The majority of the dogs we rescue, mostly breeder dogs, have lived their entire lives in less-than-ideal conditions so will need to be socialized, house and leash trained. Most have never lived in a house, walked on a leash, had a treat or sat in a lap. For many of them, their feet have never touched the ground after living for years on wire until they arrive at our main facility where they are evaluated, groomed and given vet care. Most of these dogs are not socialized and need to be cornered to be picked up, so are not suitable for people with physical disabilities or suffer from PTSD. They need folks who will make them the center of their world and help them learn to trust before even attempting to train. Please do not apply if you do not meet the requirements of the dogs we rescue. However, they will learn with time, love, patience and most of all, commitment. You must have an ample supply of all of these to reap the rewards of watching these very special dogs become your wonderful companion. We state any known health issues, all are altered unless there is a medical reason not to, which we will advise, any known medical issues addressed, are microchipped, are UTD on all vaccines and have been checked out by at least one veterinarian, usually two. We do not guarantee the health of any of our rescued dogs. The dogs we rescue have lived with other dogs all of their lives and most get along with other dogs. We state if they are dog aggressive. We require a permanent, full-time parent. That means you must be able to spend the majority of your time with your new companion to socialize and train. We do not, under any circumstances, place them in homes with young children as they have not been exposed to children and we do not know how they will react.  Hi! My name is ivy and I am a beautiful Yorkie/Cairn girl who is 1 year old, and I weigh  8 pounds.  I am very sweet, but also very shy. I am dainty, gentle, and love to be petted. I am a quiet girl who loves to lay in doggy beds with the other dogs in my foster home. I will need a fenced in yard because I am not comfortable on a leash. I do love to play so another young dog in my home that is playful is a requirement. If you have been waiting for a sweet, calm girl to love, please ask for me on your application to http://www.breederadoptions.org. Love, IvyJanuary 28, 2025, 11:18 pm

My name is Larry and I am beautiful Yorkie boy and I weigh 8 pounds. I need an all-adult home and a small, furry sibling to play and snuggle with is a requirement. I would prefer to be one of two dogs in my new home, no multiple dof home for me and local PHX AREA, applicants and home visit required. If you have been waiting for a gorgeous Yorkie boy, please ask for me, Larry, on your application to www.breederadoptions.org. 101224-01  January 28, 2025, 11:18 pm
