Story
Noel is an 8 year old Yorkie blend who joined us recently and is now looking for her forever home. She has excellent leash manners, and checks in with her handler frequently. She is also an excellent beggar who will sit and beg for treats, which she is very gentle when accepting (look at her - who is going to say no?)!This darling little girl with just the right amount of sass (adorable!) is living at our adoption center and waiting to find her forever home!No appointments are necessary and you can come and see us any time we are open. Please go to our website (www.azfriends.org) to fill out a consultation form then come and see us! We do require any family interested in meeting our dogs or cats to fill out a consultation form – this form helps us determine if the dog/cat and the home are a good match, since it is so easy to fall in love with a photo, without knowing the personality of the dog. Once you have filled out the online Adoption Consultation Form, just come in and see us (or come and see us and fill out the consultation form upon arrival)! Please note that ALL dogs and cats are available to the first home that meets the dog or cat that we feel is a good match. In order to help make the best match, we do want all family members (dogs and humans) to meet any potential new family member. Our adoption center hours are: Closed Sunday/Monday; Tuesday 10a-2p, Wednesday 3p-7p, Thursday 3p-7p, Friday 10a-2p, Saturday 10a-4p. We are located at 952 W Melody Avenue in Gilbert (zip code 85233).All animals are altered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, licensed (dogs). Cats tested for FELV/FIV. Dogs tested for Heartworm. All animals are available to the first family that is a good match, and if we have more than one animal who is a good match, there will be a lottery for all matches. Note that families must have come in to our adoption center and spoken with an adoption counselor prior to any lottery (when we have lotteries, they usually occur on Saturday mornings).

Please contact Constance (connibouchard@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.Rescued dogBiography Important Information Please read! If you are interested in me after reading about me, please visit my site, http://www.breederadoptions.org and follow the instructions. The majority of the dogs we rescue, mostly breeder dogs, have lived their entire lives in less-than-ideal conditions so will need to be socialized, house and leash trained. Most have never lived in a house, walked on a leash, had a treat or sat in a lap. For many of them, their feet have never touched the ground after living for years on wire until they arrive at our main facility where they are evaluated, groomed and given vet care. Most of these dogs are not socialized and need to be cornered to be picked up, so are not suitable for people with physical disabilities or suffer from PTSD. They need folks who will make them the center of their world and help them learn to trust before even attempting to train.  Please do not apply if you do not meet the requirements of the dogs we rescue.  However, they will learn with time, love, patience and most of all, commitment. You must have an ample supply of all of these to reap the rewards of watching these very special dogs become your wonderful companion. We state any known health issues, all are altered unless there is a medical reason not to, which we will advise, any known medical issues addressed, are microchipped, are UTD on all vaccines and have been checked out by at least one veterinarian, usually two. We do not guarantee the health of any of our rescued dogs. The dogs we rescue have lived with other dogs all of their lives and most get along with other dogs. We state if they are dog aggressive. We require a permanent, full-time parent. That means you must be able to spend the majority of your time with your new companion to socialize and train. We do not, under any circumstances, place them in homes with young children as they have not been exposed to children and we do not know how they will react. Hi! My name is Rosalee, and I am a beautiful Yorkie girl who is 3 years old, and I weigh 11 pounds. I have spent my entire life in a breeding facility so a furry, small sibling to help me learn all about this big new world is essential. If you have been waiting for a gorgeous Yorkie, please ask for me on your application to http://www.breederadoptions.org. Love, Rosalee 031624-10  December 21, 2024, 8:07 pm

Story
Samson is a sweet Yorkshire Terrier Mix who has the spunk do a true terrier. He’s happy, curious, adventurous and playful. He gets along with most other dogs. He initially is a little fearful of new people, but once he warms up, he is a true love. He is eager to please and very responsive. Samson still needs some guidance and training, but with his willing attitude and his love for his people, he should be a quick study. His approximately two years old and weighs about 12 pounds. He came to us as a stray so we do not know much of his history. Samson would like to write a new story about his life with a new family. Like many of our rescue dogs, we are not sure how well housetrained Samson is. But with gentle persuasion, some consistency, structure and praise he should be easy to train. Samson is a coated dog (hair grows continuously) and will need professional grooming every 6-8 weeks. Samson’s adoption fee is $400 This fee includes at least one health exam at our veterinarian while in our care, altering, all vaccinations including rabies (as permitted by age), a pre-adoption professional grooming and a microchip with lifetime membership that never will cost you a fee. All dogs also leave with a new collar and or harness and leash as well as a gift bag which includes among other things, a starter bag of the quality kibble that is being fed at the rescue. Adoption fees also allow us the ability to put funds towards the next homeless or unwanted dog in need of rescue! If you would like to be considered to for this adoption or any of our amazing rescues, please fill out the application with the help of this link. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/AZST/Dog. We review each application carefully. Please understand that sometimes we get numerous applications for specific dogs and as a volunteer-based rescue, we do not always have the time to respond to each one. We do our best to choose the most suitable home for each dog based on their specific personality and needs. Please note you MAY NOT be contacted for up to 10 days to schedule a meet and greet if your family is the most suitable for this rescue dog. Regrettably, we do not have the manpower currently to contact all applicants. We keep ALL applications in our database so please feel free to contact us when you see another dog of interest. We appreciate all applicants and do our best to pair every dog and family for a successful and happy life.

Story
We rescued Dolly from the pound about three weeks ago. She was a lost pet that no one claimed. We do not know a lot of information other than what they told us and we can see. We didn't realize she would have to use the restroom so much. We are able to take her out in between work/school schedules (every few hours) but she really needs a doggy door. The person who fostered her before us said once she figured out the doggy door she went potty outside. She is older, the pound said around 10. She has really bad teeth so we moisten her food before giving it to her She is very sweet and likes to cuddle. She gets along with our other dog who is 3 and a pit bull mix. She gets along with us and our kids. We live in an apartment and while our other dog can hold it in between us being able to take him out, she cannot. We have tried diapers, puppy pads and trying to go out more frequently but we think she really needs a home that has access to the outdoors on her time (doggy door).

My name is Sage, and I am a beautiful Yorkie girl who is 6 years old, and I weigh 9 pounds. I need an all-adult home and a sibling to learn from and play with would be ideal. I was severely mis-treated before I was rescued but now I am learning to trust and I love to be petted. I also like to play with other dogs! I must have a fenced in yard and stay at home parents.  If you have been waiting for a gorgeous Yorkie girl, please ask for me on your application to http://www.breederadoptions.org.
