This handsome boy was born the first of March to a young and small mama dog that weighed 35 lb. There were eight in the litter and they are all beautiful and sweet but they had to raise themselves. The small farm that they were born on had a young man that stayed on the road doing his music. He had no time for puppies. Fortunately, a very devoted rescue woman who knew of their plight contacted Critter Cavalry and we have been in search of wonderful homes for this litter. Mr Buck is a handsome 6-month-old born the first of March that weighs 22 lb. He is full of them and vigor and love and cuddles. He wants nothing more than to be a part of your life and invite you to make him a part of yours. He is learning crate training and leash walking. He gets along famously with kittend, children, other dogs and any adults that he meets. He's not a shy boy, although he has not experienced a lot in life He still embraces every new thing that comes his way with enthusiasm and interest. He's going to be about a 30 to 35 lb adult boy that is a perfect size for hiking, jogging, condo or apartment lifestyle or even a home with a fenced yard. He is a whippet/ lab mix that will turn heads with his sleek good looks and athletic body. His very handsome face often has a very serious and investigative look on it as he surveys the world and the things that are happening. He often will wear a sweet smile as he enjoys an encounter and conversation with a kind human that is giving him their time and attention. This boy will be an absolute treasure to have in your life. Rucker & his litter mates had a rough start to life. They were found in a back country road with no houses around. Their condition was very rough shape, skin & bone, mangy and still had a happiness when greeted with a human. He came to rescue and is a happy pup that loves attention & cuddles & hugs. Looking for a home who has the patience to help him with house manners and teaching skills to become the best dog he can be. Rucker had a terrible case of demodectic mange when he/she came into our rescue. He/she has been treated, but his/her hair is still slowly growing back and that's why in the pictures it might appear that he/she looks like they have been nibbled on by a moth. Demodectic mange, frequently referred to as Demodex or "red mange", is the most common form of mange in dogs. Demodectic mange most often occurs in puppies with immature immune systems, allowing the number of skin mites to multiply rapidly. It's not contagious to other dogs or humans, and it is easily treatable but can be a lengthy process. There are several different medications (oral and topical) that are used to treat Demodex. Medicated baths are helpful and soothing to help the puppy feel less irritated. However, the very best treatment above everything else is low stress and lots of TLC. We also suggest food that is for skin conditions. This sweet puppy is ready for a home of her very own but please be sure and do your own research about Demodex to make sure you're comfortable with it. We've treated probably thousands of puppies and adults with Demodex and in the most severe cases, the hair might grow back splotchy in places, but the recovery is full and when treated properly, Demodex leaves no long-term health issues. ‘Ace, here! I love to play, but I also enjoy relaxing at home with my foster family. I'm a quick learner, too. So far, I know "sit", "down", "turn", "shake" and even "kennel"! Physical touch is my love language. I show my affection with cuddles and kisses galore. There's enough for everyone! I know we haven't met yet, but there's a space in my heart reserved just for you. I can't wait to meet you!’ Ace is currently in a foster home. He is housetrained, good with kids and adults, and as well as with both cats and other dogs. He participated in a ‘kids camp’ where he got to get a bath from the children and then sat as they read him stories while of course, giving and receiving cuddles! Ace was heartworm positive, but he has completed his course of treatment/medications. He is currently in the 6 month window before he's retested to make sure he's completely clear.
