Story
Birthdate:  06/18/2024Breed: One of a kindWeight:   Still growing!Daggen is the calm and wise big brother, always keeping an eye on his little sister and making sure things don’t get too out of hand. He’s a natural explorer, full of curiosity and always first to sniff out new corners of the house or yard. Though he loves to play, he’s often the one to quietly observe and figure things out first, making him the responsible (and occasionally sneaky) sibling. He’s got a big heart and is loyal to the core, especially when it comes to Anna—he might let her steal his toys, but he secretly loves playing along and keeping her out of trouble. He enjoys exploring new smells, running after anything that moves, being the first one to find the perfect nap spot, and giving lots of puppy kisses. He’s all about chasing after balls, and he’s determined to be the fastest puppy on the block!Together, Anna and Daggen are the perfect puppy duo—Anna brings the energy and sass, while Daggen brings the calm and cool vibes. Their playful sibling dynamic is sure to keep everyone entertained and full of love.Walk-ins are welcome! Stop by during our open hours to meet our available dogs!!Before you can adopt, please complete an adoption questionnaire on our website at pawscrossedny.org/dog-adoption-questionnaire. If you have any questions, please email us at adoptions@pawscrossedny.org for more information. Please understand that we cannot hold any pets. All adoptions are done on a first come, first adopt basis for pre-approved applicants. The Shelter software system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.November 8, 2024, 1:32 am

She’s got a playful attitude, a love for adventure, and a heart full of affection. If there’s a game to be played, she’s in the middle of it—whether it’s tug-of-war with her brother or a high-speed chase around the yard. Anna might be small right now, but she’s full of personality and loves to keep everyone on their toes. She’s always ready to snuggle up when she’s tired, but don’t let her sleepy face fool you—she’s just recharging for her next burst of energy! She greatly enjoys belly rubs, playing chase, tug-of-war, stealing Daggen’s toys (just for fun!), and cuddling with her humans. Together, Anna and Daggen are the perfect puppy duo—Anna brings the energy and sass, while Daggen brings the calm and cool vibes. Story
Rucker & his litter mates had a rough start to life. They were found on a back country road with no houses around. They were in very rough shape, skin & bones, mangy but still full of happiness when greeted with a human. Rucker is now a healthy, happy pup that loves attention & cuddles & hugs. He's looking for a home who has the patience to help him with house manners and teaching him the skills that will let him become the best dog he can be. Rucker had a terrible case of demodectic mange when he/she came into our rescue. He/she has been treated, but his/her hair is still slowly growing back and that's why in the pictures it might appear that he/she looks like they have been nibbled on by a moth. Demodectic mange, frequently referred to as Demodex or "red mange", is the most common form of mange in dogs. Demodectic mange most often occurs in puppies with immature immune systems, allowing the number of skin mites to multiply rapidly. It's not contagious to other dogs or humans, and it is easily treatable but can be a lengthy process. There are several different medications (oral and topical) that are used to treat Demodex. Medicated baths are helpful and soothing to help the puppy feel less irritated. However, the very best treatment above everything else is low stress and lots of TLC. We also suggest food that is for skin conditions. This sweet puppy is ready for a home of her very own but please be sure and do your own research about Demodex to make sure you're comfortable with it. We've treated probably thousands of puppies and adults with Demodex and in the most severe cases, the hair might grow back splotchy in places, but the recovery is full and when treated properly, Demodex leaves no long-term health issues. Visit our website to see our weekend Events here! Pups with the designated “meet me” next to their names are in CT and ready to attend adoption events. Please check with your adoption coordinator if you are interested in a specific dog prior to coming to an event, as a dog's availability to attend can change at any time. We can not guarantee approval on site at the events, so we recommend applying ahead of time. You can apply at the event, but the application process may not be able to be completed the same day. If you are not pre-approved, you are still welcome to come and meet pup’s at the event! The adoption fee is $500 which includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccinations, flea/tick and heartworm preventatives, and the mandatory CT HB 5368 fee. This dog tested negative for heartworms. If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get a confirmation. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.

Story
Killian is a 10-month-old, sweet, happy, and playful boy. He is a typical puppy who is energetic and mischievous, but with training he will develop into a beautiful dog. His potty training has begun and will require work from the adopter. Crate training and routine will assist greatly with this. He is shy at first, but with gentle engagement and treats he opens up quickly! He would greatly benefit from being in a house with another dog who he can learn from and gain confidence. Killian was rescued with his mom and 8 siblings, so he grew up at the shelter and is now ready for the next chapter with a loving home. His brother Buju just got adopted, so it’s time for Killian to follow in his brother’s footsteps. Killian has a chance to come to New York on a transport scheduled for mid November. He is available for direct adoption or foster-to-adopt. Could you open your heart and home to this beautiful boy? Killian is up to date on all vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped. His current weight is 18 lbs and he will continue to grow a little more. If you feel you would be the right fit for Killian, please fill out an adoption application at www.sosanimalwelfare.org, or email us for more info: sosanimalwelfare@gmail.com We will happily get back to you!
