Zack’s journey began when he was found wandering along a busy road. Thankfully, a compassionate passerby stepped in and brought him to our partner rescue, SOS el Arca Animal Rescue. There, Zack was given the care and safety he needed to grow up healthy, happy, and secure. Now, he’s ready for the next chapter — a forever home of his own. Zack has the chance to travel to New York in April, but this can only happen if an adopter or foster-to-adopt family steps forward in time. He is adaptable, eager to learn, and gentle by nature, making him a great match for many different types of homes. He does well with other dogs, is wonderful with children, and shows a curious but respectful interest in cats. Zack loves companionship and would be happiest in a home where he’s included as part of everyday life. Zack is crate trained, and his potty training is already underway. Rubi is a stunning little beauty, full of joy and life! She is playful, happy, and wonderfully curious about the world around her. Rubi loves exploring, meeting new people, and discovering everything life has to offer. She has a bright, joyful personality and a sweet spirit that makes everyone around her smile. Life didn’t start easily for Rubi and her siblings. Rubi, along with her brothers Ron, Rudy, and Rufus, was abandoned overnight in a box outside the shelter. They were wet, cold, and very hungry when they were found. Thankfully, our partner rescue, SOS el Arca Animal Rescue, took them in and provided shelter, veterinary care, and lots of love. Since then, Rubi and her siblings have grown into beautiful, healthy puppies. Rubi will be 6 months old in April, which means she will be ready to travel to New York and start her new life with a loving family. She is an affectionate and playful puppy who will thrive in a home where she can continue learning, playing, and growing with her people. Rubi is expected to grow into a medium-size dog, making her a wonderful companion for many different types of homes and lifestyles. She is also crate trained, which helps with potty training and makes the transition into a new home smoother and easier for both Rubi and her future family. Pach is a handsome young boy about 1 year old and weighs around 35 lbs. He has a gentle, sweet personality and a calm nature that makes him a wonderful companion. Pach gets along great with other dogs and enjoys playing with his kennel mates, but he also has a soft and affectionate side and loves quiet moments with people. Pach was rescued along with his siblings and their mom from a construction site where the Mayan Train railway was being built. The dogs were being fed by kind construction workers who reached out to our partner rescue, SOS el Arca Animal Rescue. Thanks to them, Pach and his family were brought to safety where they received veterinary care, testing, shelter, and lots of love. Pach can be a little shy when he first meets new people or is in a new environment, but once he feels safe his sweet personality begins to shine. He would do best with a patient adopter who will give him time to adjust and help him build confidence. Because he loves other dogs, Pach would likely do very well in a home with another friendly dog who can be his playmate and help him continue to learn and feel secure. He is a smart and well-mannered young dog who is crate trained and walks nicely on a leash. Pach is neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated, dewormed, and 4DX tested. He is also on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention (Simparica). At about 35 lbs, he is a great medium size for many homes and lifestyles. Despite the uncertainty in his early life, Grinch has remained gentle, trusting, and deeply appreciative of kindness. With consistency and love, he truly blossoms. Grinch does well with other dogs and loves to play. He enjoys going for walks, and when volunteers take him out for even a 15-minute stroll, his joy is undeniable — he wiggles his hips side to side the entire time. Lyla – A five-year-old Italian Greyhound in CT Due to a recent move and long work hours, Lyla’s owner is not able to spend sufficient time with her and has made the difficult decision to locate a new home for Lyla where she will have a person who is mostly home to provide her with lots of love and attention. If Lyla’s new person resides in a single-family home, she would like there to be a fenced yard. Lyla, who is five-years-old and weighs twelve pounds, is described as being shy, but active. This little one has lived with, and gets along with, other dogs; is good with children she has met; and has not been around cats. She is housetrained to use dog training pads and does have some accidents. When left alone, a crate is used. Lyla is accustomed to leash-walking and pulls “a little” on-leash.
