This handsome boy was born the first of March to a young and small mama dog that weighed 35 lb. There were eight in the litter and they are all beautiful and sweet but they had to raise themselves. The small farm that they were born on had a young man that stayed on the road doing his music. He had no time for puppies. Fortunately, a very devoted rescue woman who knew of their plight contacted Critter Cavalry and we have been in search of wonderful homes for this litter. Mr Buck is a handsome 9-month-old born the first of March that weighs 28 lbs. Buck would be best suited for a family with another dog to play with everyday, and children that are 12+ A fenced yard is a must!!!! He is housebroken and crate trained. Buckis full of spunk and vigor but yet love and cuddles. He wants nothing more than to be a part of your life and invite you to make him a part of yours. He is crate trained and leash trained. He gets along famously with older children, other dogs and any adults that he meets. He's not a shy boy, although he has not experienced a lot in life. He still embraces every new thing that comes his way with enthusiasm and interest. He's going to be about a 30 to 35 lb adult boy that is a perfect size for hiking, jogging, condo or apartment lifestyle or even a home with a fenced yard. He is a whippet/ lab mix that will turn heads with his sleek good looks and athletic body. His very handsome face often has a very serious and investigative look on it as he surveys the world and the things that are happening. He often will wear a sweet smile as he enjoys an encounter and conversation with a kind human that is giving him their time and attention. This boy will be an absolute treasure to have in your life. Killian is a 10-month-old, sweet, happy, and playful boy. He is a typical puppy who is energetic and mischievous, but with training he will develop into a beautiful dog. His potty training has begun and will require work from the adopter. Crate training and routine will assist greatly with this. He is shy at first, but with gentle engagement and treats he opens up quickly! He would greatly benefit from being in a house with another dog who he can learn from and gain confidence. Killian was rescued with his mom and 8 siblings, so he grew up at the shelter and is now ready for the next chapter with a loving home. Rucker & his litter mates had a rough start to life. They were found on a back country road with no houses around. They were in very rough shape, skin & bones, mangy but still full of happiness when greeted with a human. Rucker is now a healthy, happy pup that loves attention & cuddles & hugs. He's looking for a home who has the patience to help him with house manners and teaching him the skills that will let him become the best dog he can be. Rucker had a terrible case of demodectic mange when he/she came into our rescue. He/she has been treated, but his/her hair is still slowly growing back and that's why in the pictures it might appear that he/she looks like they have been nibbled on by a moth. Demodectic mange, frequently referred to as Demodex or "red mange", is the most common form of mange in dogs. Demodectic mange most often occurs in puppies with immature immune systems, allowing the number of skin mites to multiply rapidly. It's not contagious to other dogs or humans, and it is easily treatable but can be a lengthy process. There are several different medications (oral and topical) that are used to treat Demodex. Medicated baths are helpful and soothing to help the puppy feel less irritated. However, the very best treatment above everything else is low stress and lots of TLC. We also suggest food that is for skin conditions. This sweet puppy is ready for a home of her very own but please be sure and do your own research about Demodex to make sure you're comfortable with it. We've treated probably thousands of puppies and adults with Demodex and in the most severe cases, the hair might grow back splotchy in places, but the recovery is full and when treated properly, Demodex leaves no long-term health issues. Please check with your adoption coordinator if you are interested in a specific dog prior to coming to an event, as a dog's availability to attend can change at any time. We can not guarantee approval on site at the events, so we recommend applying ahead of time. You can apply at the event, but the application process may not be able to be completed the same day. If you are not pre-approved, you are still welcome to come and meet pup’s at the event! The adoption fee is $500 which includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccinations, flea/tick and heartworm preventatives, and the mandatory CT HB 5368 fee. This dog tested negative for heartworms. If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05.
