Meet Carmel, the young, sweet, and goofy dog with a lizard-catching obsession. Her energy is contagious, and her friendliness is unparalleled. One day, while chasing a particularly elusive lizard, Carmel found herself in the local dog shelter. She had chased the lizard right through the open door! Now, she spends her days playing with her fellow shelter dogs and dreaming of long beach walks. She's great with kids and other dogs as Carmel is a very friendly and social girl. She loves going for walks and waits patiently by the door to get her leash on. Carmel was sleeping in her crate at night, but has now graduated to sleeping on the couch (as you can see in the photos). She's not as high energy as you would expect being a Malinois, but she is very smart, so knowing this breed is important. Carmel's intelligence and playful nature make her a delightful companion. She's been on two camping trips with her foster family and has been "amazing" on both of them. :) If you're looking for a friend who'll make every day feel like a beach day, Carmel's your girl! Reece came to God's Dogs Rescue like a calm, summer breeze. She was blessed with a huge litter of 14 puppies and has been a super great mom to all of them. They are all ready for adoption and have been posted, absolutely adorable and loving babies, just like their mama!! I’m a 5-month-old puppy that weighs about 15 pounds. I’m working on all the important puppy skills, we have been practicing walking on a leash and I am a pro! I get along great with other dogs—whether it's my foster sibling who's just 1 year old or even the tiny 6-week-old pup in the house! I’m gentle and sweet, though I might be a little shy when I first meet you. But don’t worry, I’ll warm up quickly! I love following my foster human around, just to keep an eye on things, but I’m not overly needy. I’m pretty independent and will settle down in my kennel when needed, although I’ll bark for a few minutes before I get comfy. I’m doing really well with potty training, and we’re even working on ringing a bell when I need to go outside—how cool is that? I haven’t had a ton of experience with kids yet, but I’ve been friendly with the neighborhood kids I’ve met. I think I’d fit right in with any family, or even with someone who just wants a loyal buddy. While I love playing with other dogs, I don’t need another dog to be happy. I’m just as content being the only dog, as long as I get to spend time with my humans. My favorite toys are the ones that make crinkly noises, and I really enjoy chewing on non-rawhide treats. I’m not much of a barker, but I’ll let you know if something alarms me or when I first go into my crate. I’m sweet, gentle, and fantastic on a leash, and I’m ready to make someone a very lucky pet parent! Whether it’s a family or a single person, I’m going to be the perfect addition to your life. *I’m a growing puppy and I have not yet had a lot of experience with crates, kids or cats and I might bark if something alarms me, but I really love to learn and hoping for a family who will take me to a basic obedience class to continue to help me build confidence and dog skills. Ideally my forever home would need to be home during the day to help me with my potty training and not leave me for breaks longer than 3 - 4 hours. Get your toy box ready! **Obedience classes are required when adopting this puppy from Underdog Rescue. Many of our puppies have a mama who was not properly socialized before coming to Underdog Rescue. Since coming to Underdog, this puppy has been in a socialized and loving home, but that needs to be continued with its Adopters. Training classes teach puppies the ins and outs of being a pet while creating a bond with their new Adopter. Obedience classes are key to creating a relationship with your puppy while having it be a happy and successful member of society. Proof of Obedience Class registration is required for this puppy before adoptions can be finalized. If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.  T his puppy requires an application fee.
