Story
Vera was rescued from a construction site where she was all alone and in desperate need of help. She was understandably very scared when she first came to us but she's come so far to get comfortable in her foster home! Vera loves to play and can't get enough toys! She's very athletic and chases the wand toys, ball tracks and everything else she can get her paws on. Vera is accepting of pets and can be a very sweet girl after she settles in but her potential new family should know she will need some time to get comfortable. We think she would do very well in a home with other kitties to play with as she enjoys being with other cats. To be considered as a potential adopter, complete an adoption application. Completing the application does not guarantee it will be approved. We are an all volunteer group and unfortunately are unable to answer every phone call, adoption inquiry, or application. Please understand you will be contacted only if your application is approved.

Story
Originally rescued him from a friend in need about 14 months ago. He is now 3 years old. He came from a home that had previous experience fostering cats and I believe that he will thrive better in a multi-cat home, although he is okay to be alone too. If he is placed alone, he has large amounts of energy and needs an owner who can provide multiple playtimes and attention to him throughout day. He is extremely nice and often very quiet.

Story
Jif was adopted from the DC Humane Rescue Alliance at just a few weeks old way back in 2016. I am not a cat person but Jif's temperament made it very easy for me to get on board with having a cat in the house. He was raised by our lazy dog, so he kind of thinks he's a dog and is very easy going. He loves lounging on the couch or in your lap, getting cuddles, and chasing toys every now and then. Lately, he has been an indoor cat, but he once thrived playing around in our small backyard without wandering off. We now have a one a half year old daughter who is very curious about Jif, but Jif does not want anything to do with her. That is creating some friction! For a while, we could manage, but now that our daughter can move, the environment is too stressful for Jif. To be sure, he has never been aggressive towards our daughter. We want him to live in a calm apartment or house, preferably with another relaxed dog who likes playing with cats every now and then.

Story
Little Ember is a sweet, affectionate, and playful kitten who was just recently spayed as part of a Trap-Neuter-and-Release (TNR) operation. But because she’s such a sweet girl, we decided to bring her inside and to get her adopted. She’s a 4–5-month-old dark brown tabby who loves to play, eat, cuddle, sit on laps, and spar and get grooming licks from her adopted older brother, Theo. She’s been an outdoor kitty since she was born and is ready to live the good life with her person/people as a fully indoor kitty.

Story
Introducing Theo! Theo is an orange tabby approximately 2-3 years old. He is such a sweet soul who loves looking out the window, sunbeams, sparring and grooming his kitten friend, Ember, and cuddling up next to his person while he gets pets. Theo was an outdoor cat abandoned by his owners. A few weeks ago, I brought Theo home after seeing how much he loves people and is destined to live the posh life of living indoors. If we didn’t already have 3 cats of our own, I would adopt Theo in a second – but we feel 4 cats may be pushing it! If you are interested in a sweet adult ginger kitty to share your life and space with, Theo may be the one for you!
