Story
NAME: Harvey Sex: male Color/Pattern: tan tabby with white tuxedo Breed: dsh Weight: med BDAY approx: June 17 2021 Coat length: short Description Harvey is a type-A, friendly, responsive talker who runs up to you for attention. A Velcro kitty who is your shadow. Personality Harvey doesn't think there is anyone in the world who isn’t his best friend. He is so outgoing, super smart and wants to communicate. He can get frustrated if you don't understand what he wants. He would be a good candidate to be trained to use the talking buttons you see on social media. He often prefers attention from people over food. He is independent and bold, brave and affectionate. Harvey was big and muscular when he came to GNAR, but after being neutered, has slimmed down. He was very successful as an outdoor cat. Resourceful and generous with helping other cats, and sweet talking people not-so-subtly to bend to his will. He is a kitty politician. If you are a dog person, this is the cat for you. You could probably teach him tricks. He is attentive and wants you to please him : D Background Harvey and Necia were found as strays together. Outgoing Harvey showed up first outside of an industrial building where the employees started to gain his trust and feed him. Uber-friendly Harvey accepted their invitations for friendship after a short while, and soon started inviting himself inside the front door, so they decided it was probably time to look for a new home for him. After he then also brought his new girlfriend Necia to join him, everyone started worrying that there would be kittens if they didn’t do something to prevent it soon. Harvey was very protective of Necia, so they didn’t get chance to get close enough to her to see if she was also tame. Once the 2 cats started getting too bold and trying to come indoors to the office, the employee contacted GNAR to help find a home for them. So they borrowed traps, and brought them to their new foster home. Harvey continued to guard Necia, so the foster home separated them to let Necia show her true personality. Harvey also sweetened up more after he was relieved of his perceived responsibility as Necia's protector and provider. Story
Description Umami is a cuddly, outgoing, affectionate, very handsome kitten. Personality Umami was confident and an extrovert the day he was found. Even though he had never been held by a human before when found at 8 weeks old, he had no problem with it. He was a bit scared for the 1st few days but as soon as you picked him up he melted into a puddle of purrs. He loves to explore and has no fear. He is very curious and is oblivious that some other animals may want to eat him. He will burst out of a doorway, run right up to a large new dog, slipping through the bars of a babygate to join the pack. Umami is talented at jumping up onto a counter to get closer to you. He is a daredevil, talker and enthusiastic eater. Patience is not his forte and he will make sure you know it. Background Umami was found in front of a house all alone after a big storm in southwest Houston on Mon May 13. His momma never came back for him. His finder brought him to a foster home who had 3 bottle baby kittens of about the same age and added him to the litter of orphans. He was just old enough to already be able to lap kitten formula for himself and eat solid food. If you are interested in meeting me, please contact my rescue family at GNARHouston@gmail.com to arrange a visit at my foster home or local Petsmart!

Story
Description Duke is a handsome, playful and cuddly little tabby boy. Personality Duke is outgoing and tons of fun. He does hilarious flips, and loves to crawl into your clothes and play peekaboo and hide and go seek. He goes limp like a ragdoll when you pick him up, and snuggles against your chest very happily. He spends his time wrestling with his sister Shenandoah, attacking the toilet paper, and playing footsie under the door with the dogs. Background After hurricane Beryl, Duke Energy electrical workers were restoring power in an apartment complex in north Spring off of Rayford. They found Duke and his sister Shenandoah under a pile of fencing. It wasnt a safe place to leave the kittens, so they called rescues to no avail because they couldnt take the kittens back to base camp with them. Only GNAR volunteers answered and drove up to pick them up. They were bottle fed by their foster home. Email us at GNARHouston@gmail.com to inquire about adoption!

Story
Calvin Claws would make a wonderful pet just in time for Christmas. He would love to have a home of his own! Calvin is a 1.5 year old young boy! He has been an indoor cat all his life and recently his owner got a job where he travels all over - all the time. Calvin is lonely now and needs a human to love him. He is fun loving and an energetic ball of joy who brings happiness to everyone he comes in contact with. With an incredible sense of emphathy, he seems to know exactly how you're feeling and is always there to offer comfort when you need it most. Whether he's racing around the house or curling up for some quiet time, Calvin fills every moment with love and warmth. Calvin is very neat with his litter box manners, not messy like some cats. He loves to touch and rub on you and especially loves lazers!

Story
One evening in mid-August while feeding two neighborhood cats, I saw a very tiny, timid kitten looking in under the gate. I spoke softly to him and slid some food towards him. It took about a week, but I was soon carrying him around in the crook of my arm. To this day he enjoys anyone’s arm or a lap for that matter. I named him Beverly thinking he was a girl kitten, but the vet informed me of my error. Of course, Beverly is a man’s name in England so we just say he has British roots! He was so tiny that I dared not leave him outside on a busy street so in he came into a large cage in my kitchen. Turns out he had a fantastic appetite and quickly put on weight and grew too fast to stay in that cage. So upstairs he went to be with my older cats. He was delighted to find some pals with whom to play. He loves string toys, chases balls, and mock attacks the older cats who wish he would be adopted sooner rather than later. He is an excellent non-fussy eater and enjoys canned and dry food. He waits daily, morning and evening, by the feeding station and is always first. I think Beverly, now Bobby would be a good fit with other cats as he has never exhibited aggression towards my house kitties. However, he so loves being held in a lap or the crook of an arm, that he would thrive just as well in a home as an only cat. I brush him nightly just before bed by which time he struggles to keep his eyes open. He is not a destructive little guy at all. He is about 6 months old and fully vetted. Ready to make your home joyous! Eat. Play. Sleep. And LOVE. That’s Beverly.
