Story
Ollie has a very sweet side to him, very affectionate, and even a lap cat at times. He is a volunteer favorite for sure! This handsome fellow was found living outside, and we believe he's about four years old. When he first came to the rescue, he was not very happy. But we've seen a shift in him, and he's doing so much better! Ollie would probably still be most happy being your only pet, so he can be king of his castle. Come meet this cutie, and when he gazes at you with his big green eyes, you'll surely want to take him home.

Story
I found Pumpkin around 5 months ago at a boat ramp by herself. She’s approximately 8 months old. Sweet as can be! Unfortunately we moved and our neighbors have dogs who wonder out of their yard into ours and are aggressive towards our cats and kids. So we’ve decided to try and rehome after talking with animal control. Pumpkin loves the outdoors but is also a lazy girl inside. Fully litter trained with crystal kitty litter. She’s been around children of all ages and other animals. Very sweet and affectionate. Looking for a loving home, she’s ready to give all the love!

Story
Grapefruit is the sweetest!! Very playful. She has no tail. It was surgically removed before I adopted her. I am 82 years of age and fell due to her walking between my legs while walking. This is the only reason I am looking to re-home her. I feel that, for my health and for her needing to be able to play at will, it is best if I re-home her. I will provide all food and supplies that I have left for her.

Story
I adopted 5yo Jasmine from GCAC in Nov 2025 as a companion for my adult Kitty when I go on short trips. She fit in very quickly: curious, sweet, well-behaved, LOVES playing with toys, has the cutest kitten's meow. She likes him, he doesn't like her, even after 3 months. HE is the problem, not Jasmine. As his behavior continues to worsen she remains calm & composed. I want them both to be happy! To get you going I can provide: -supply of her current food/treats -bed & blanket w/her scent -cat scratcher "castle" in the photo, she loves being in there -Feliway diffuser +60-day supply -all the toys she loves, solo & interactive! -spare litter box/10# bag litter You need a tall scratching post, minimum 20" tall, since she is a long cat! She was overweight from her previous owner's feeding habits but is slimming down with our current food regimen. The shelter told me she doesn't like to be picked up/carried. IDK if it is from fear or pain, but I abided by their word.

Story
My mother passed away survived by three fury friends Fred, Chloe and Molly. She loved cats and has had several others at one time or another in her long life. We are caring for them in the house where she once lived. But we can not take them in because we have a high strung dog that does not adjust well to other animals. Fred is sweet and seems to be the most affected by my mom's passing. He does seem to need somebody to love. It is likely going to take some time for him to adjust to a new owner, but we are hopeful that someone can give him the special care he needs.

Story
Meet Velma Velma and her almost identical twin sister Daphne are the two newest little additions to the kitten room. They are brown tabbies and we have FINALLY found a way to tell them apart: Daphne has two distinct stripes on her face while Velma only has one. Just like their namesakes in Scooby Doo, these girls are smart, funny, and full of adventure. They love to play and snuggle with the other kitties in the room, but as soon as they see a willing lap, they are all in. Even if they have to lay on top of another kitty to get close to their human. Anyone who adopts one or both of these amazing girls is in for an adventure. They are only about 3 1/2 months now (DOB estimated at 11/30/2025) so are available for our foster to adopt program where they can be fostered until they are old enough to be spayed. Velma (and Daphne) would probably do best going home with another kitty in the home, but a devoted human companion will suit her just fine. If looking for an awesome kitty who will be your companion for life, Velma (or Daphne) might just be for you. Please fill out an application online at: www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org. On the home page, select "Download Cat Application." Once an application is submitted online, you will receive an email saying your application has been successfully submitted. Please email us at smithgallhumanesociety@windstream.net to make sure we received your application. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet. We do permit out-of-state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship, nor do we transport them to their new homes. Adoption policies and application procedures are detailed at the shelter website: http://charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org/ under tab All Adoptable Animals. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are either owner relinquished rescued from area Animal Controls or high kill shelters. The facility usually operates at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.

Story
Meet Pistachio, she came to our rescue with a group of kitties last summer! History: The previous owner had a group of cats that lived mostly outdoors with access to a garage for shelter/food. However, their owner passed away and they couldn't stay on the property, so the family contacted us to help rehome them. The cats were not completely feral, as their owner who passed away was able to pet them. Pistachio: Pistachio is shy and takes her time approaching people. She has been in a foster home for the last year where she was slowly moved to indoors with access to a catio. She enjoys following her foster family around to watch what they are doing. Pistachio likes to "meow" back at the fosters when they talk to her. Once she warms up to you, she enjoys petting and you can pick her up when needed as long as you go slow. She would do well either as an indoor cat in a household where she has time to adjust to her owners, or she would be okay as a barn / porch cat. Additional information: If you have an outdoor area for them to live in, they will need confinement for 2 months to get used to you and their new home. We can provide a cat tower (similar to a large crate) for them to stay in during that time and then you can gradually start letting them out to explore their new homes. You will return the tower to us after two months. Alternatively, they could live initially on a screened in porch and then be let out of the porch after they acclimate to the area. To meet one of our adoptable pets or to start the adoption process, please access the adoption application on our website, www.crossroadsanimalrescue.org or download and email it to crossroadsanimalrescuesc@gmail.com. We will then approve you (sending in the application does not obligate you to adopt) and we can set up a time for you to meet one or more of our pets. You can then pay the adoption fee and officially adopt after meeting your new family member. Alternatively, you can do the adoption over the phone before meeting your new pet. The benefit to this is that we will hold the pet for you. However, the adoption fee is non-refundable if you changed your mind after adopting over the phone. Most of our pets are obtained from animal control and therefore we are not certain of their breed or breed mix. We list breed mixes that they most resemble or that their former owners said they were. However, we don't make any guarantees about breed - it is a best guess! Our adoption fees include the spay/neuter surgery, deworming, vet exam, and up to date vaccines. It also includes microchipping as well as heartworm testing or feline leukemia testing. We are happy to adopt out-of-state (and even out of the country!) but transportation for the adopted pet is the responsibility of the new pet owner. If you cannot adopt a pet at this time but would like to support our rescue, please click on the "Sponsor a Pet" button. Your donation will help feed the dogs, cats, small animals, and horses at CARE. Please email at crossroadsanimalrescuesc@gmail.com or call us at (864)972-9906 for more information. This phone number will reach Crossroads Animal Hospital, which is the home of CARE. During business hours, a receptionist will be able to speak with you regarding our adoptable pets. After business hours, the only way to contact CARE is via email. Our puppies and kittens are also eligible for 10% off the rest of the vaccines in their puppy/kitten vaccination series at Crossroads Animal Hospital. Most adult pets are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Puppies and kittens may have the surgery before adoption or we may have new owners return later for the surgery. Story
Meet Patch! History: This guy was dumped on an a dead end road in the woods. He was found with his brother in rough condition and starving. So, one of the Crossroads Veterinary clinic employee's trapped, refed, vaccinated, and neutered him. Patch: Patch is very shy and takes a while before he will allow people to get close enough to be touched. He has been in a foster home for the last year where he was slowly moved to indoors with access to a catio. He enjoys observing the foster family from afar. Patch likes to sit in a sunny window or sleep in a cat tower. Once he warms up to you, he enjoys to be pet, purrs super loud, and you can pick him up when needed as long as you go slow. He would do well either as an indoor cat in a household where he has time to gradually warm up to his owners, or he would be okay as a barn / porch cat. Story
Hi, I'm Olaf and I'm a cuddly boy. He was found behind a restaurant as a kitten he and some of his litter mates had eye infections, while his eye infection is cleared now it did cause his third eye lid to attach to one of his eyes. This won't cause any long-term issues just makes one of his eyes look a little different! Once this sweet boy gets to know you, he loves to be loved on and is absolutely obsessed with toys. Hes used to other cats and dogs and is also litterbox trained. He has been with us for over a year now and is just looking for a furever family!
