Story
Ginger, also called Gin-gin, is an absolutely loveable, and quirky cat. She has such a unique perspective on life and loves to quietly tiptoe around and observe just about everything. She can be boisterous, inquisitive, attentive, gently playful and always adorable. She's shy at first, but once she warms up to you, you're in! She's been spayed and declawed. She rarely meows, but when she does you're in for quite the surprise. We sadly have developed cat allergies and cannot comfortably keep her, but she's very important to us and we want to ensure that she finds a safe, loving home. She's not the type of cat that will be all over you all of the time. She likes her down time to wander, explore. We hope Gin gin will be the purr-fect fit for your home.

Story
Meow Meow is very sweet and affectionate. She was born July 2024 and we rescued her and her brother after their mother was left abandoned with her kittens. She has been spayed. She and her brother Duvalin (also been neutered) have been with us since but due to a move, we can no longer keep them. They are bonded and love each other very much. She enjoys to be held and petted. If adopted together, she and her brother would come with an auto litter cleaner and all of their cat supplies if desired. We want them to find a loving family so if they need separated to do that, then we understand.

Story
My friend and I found Leo as a stray when we were in college, he was around 2 months old at that time in November 2023. He has been nothing but one of the best companions I could have had. He is very playful but also independent, but if you are by yourself he will eventually come near you to rest or be pet. He does not mind being picked up and held, and I have rubbed his tummy on many occasions. He enjoys the company of people once you get to know him, but he also likes to be cautious at first. He is currently around 1.5 years ago, and I am just looking for someone that wants to let him have a great life (the most recent vet visit described him as a bodybuilder with how much muscle he had at his age).

Story
Duvalin was born July 2024 and was rescued alongside his sister after their mother was abandoned with her kittens. Duvalin is bonded with his sister and ideally we would love to keep them together, however we want to find a good home so if they need separated to do that, then we understand. Duvalin is very affectionate, smart, and enjoys to be cuddled. He is quiet, but easy to warm up to people. If adopted together they would come with all their cat stuff including self-cleaning litter box.

Story
Leo Marvin will be 4 years old in June. In a new home, he would be happy with people who will let him sleep on their laps (he is a great snuggler!), give him pets (especially on his head, chin, and jaw), occasionally give him treats (he loves catnip, silver vine, and kibble-type treats), and offer him some playtime with toys that will get him moving (string toys, balls he can chase). He gets along with other playful cats and small dogs. He tends to hide from bigger dogs. Leo Marvin can be energetic sometimes, so pets who are also up for playtime would be a good fit for companionship. His health is in good shape and he has only lived indoors. He typically comes when he is called and has a very cute trill in his meow.

Story
Pretty Mama – Gentle Soul, Seasoned SweetheartHi there, I’m Pretty Mama. And yes, I do live up to the name. I’m about five years old, and let’s just say I’ve probably raised more kittens than I can count—most recently my little ones, the Kokomo Crew, who are just about the cutest things you’ll ever see. Before I came into rescue, I was living life as a stray, doing the best I could. I gave birth in a chicken coop on someone’s property, which... wasn’t exactly glamorous, but it kept us safe. I took care of my baby with all the love in my heart, just like I always do. Thankfully, someone kind saw me and got us help—and now I’m here, waiting for my chance at a cozy, quiet forever home.I’m an angel in fur, truly. I’m sweet as can be, soft-spoken, and full of gentle affection. Whether I’m curled up nearby or brushing up against your leg for a little love, I’ve got that calming, peaceful presence people always seem to fall in love with.If you’re looking for a cat with a wise, kind heart and a whole lot of love to give, I might just be your Pretty Mama.An adoption application can be filled out on the DHS website https://www.dekalbhumanesociety.org/adopt. Story
The Underdog You’ve Been Waiting For: Meet YellowstoneHi there. My name’s Yellowstone, and yeah—I’m the last one left.I know I’m not flashy. I don’t have wild swirls or fancy socks. I’m just a solid little black kitten. The “boring” one, I’ve heard. But let me tell you something: solid is a good thing. Solid means dependable. Loyal. Cozy. Classic.I was found in an attic with my brothers and sisters—no mom in sight. We were cold, hungry, and way too young to be on our own. But some kind humans stepped in and bottle-fed us around the clock. Thanks to them, I’m healthy, strong, and almost ready to go to a forever home. My siblings all have theirs lined up already… except me.So here I am, doing something I never thought I’d do: asking for a chance. I might not be the wild child or the instant showstopper, but if you're looking for a soft little shadow to follow you from room to room, a purring bundle of calm in a chaotic world—I’m your guy.I’ll be ready to head home around April 30th. I’m just hoping someone sees past the plain and gives me a chance to be their everything.Could that someone be you?An adoption application can be filled out on the DHS website https://www.dekalbhumanesociety.org/adopt.
