Story
Meet Sterling In rescue there is great joy and great heartache… and sometimes these two emotions come with the same story. Two years ago Sterling and Sawyer were adopted together as kittens. We were overjoyed at their good fortune. The brothers loved each other and their hooman mama. She took great care of them and they were happy cats. Sadly, their mama died recently. Her caregiver took care of the boys after their mama passed but is unable to keep them. Thankfully, she called us to see if we could take them back. Of course we will! Once a Smithgall family member always a Smithgall family member. Sterling's brother Sawyer was recently adopted and we were wondering how he would do. Surprisingly, Sterling has thrived! He was a little subservient to his brother and now he is full of confidence and love. He's the first one to greet anyone coming into the cat room and runs over to cuddle up in a lap for a purr and snuggle. Sterling will transition easily into a new home once he feels loved. If you love a big, warm cuddle bugs on a cold winter day, Sterling is just the cat for you. If you’re able to give Sterling a loving furever home, please submit a cat application from our website www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org Please call our shelter at 706-865-4135 or email us at smithgallhumanesociety@windstream.net to verify that we received your application. She'll be ready to find her forever home just as soon as she's spayed. If looking for an awesome kitten, please submit an application for Autumn online at: www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org. Story
Meet Ellie Poor Ellie was rescued from a hoarding situation and taken to a kill shelter. The volunteers there fell in love with her and asked us to please rescue this six year old girl. We said of course!! Ellie has been with us a few months to decompress and we are hoping she can find her special home soon. She's still a bit shy, but loves the staff and regular volunteers who visit her. She loves to be pet and cuddled and will give them a nice purr in thanks. She wants so badly to be brave, but there are just too many changes and noises at a shelter for this gentle soul. We are hoping the special someone will come along and choose Ellie to live in a quiet home. She deserves it, and will return the love 100 times over. If you can offer a safe indoor home for Ellie, please submit an application online at: https://www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org Once an application is submitted online, you will receive an email saying your application has been successfully submitted. Story
Meet Ariel Ariel is a gorgeous tiger kitten with beautiful golden eyes. Ariel came into us alone, and has proven herself to be the official "mama" of the kitten room." She typically watches what's going on and who is coming in to visit, then will work her way down for love and scratches. We think she will fully thrive in a quiet home environment. When potential adopters come in to visit, Ariel has been overlooked because she shares her room with playful, adorable kittens who always steal the show, but her quiet patience really touches our hearts. If you are looking for a sweet kitty who really deserves a break, Ariel is the one for you. Ariel LOVES other kitties and would do best in a home with a kitty companion, or if she is able to bring one of her Smithgall playmates home with her at adoption. If you can open your heart and offer a safe home to Ariel, please submit a cat application online at www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org Please call our shelter at 706-865-4135 or email us at smithgallhumanesociety@windstream.net to let us know to be on the lookout. Story
Meet Elena Elena is one of our "Vampire Diary" kittens and these sweet girls are all sweet and sassy and full of life! Elena is a gorgeous medium hair grey tabby with silky fur who looks identical to her sisters Bonnie and Caroline (We keep colored collars on them to tell them apart). She is quick for a game of wrestling or tag with the other kitties, or a snuggle with one of her sisters or friends. All of these kittens are so super sweet and affectionate and would quickly settle into a new home. She and her sisters have been with us since they were tiny babies and we just can't understand why no one has snatched them up. If you can offer a safe indoor home for Elena, and maybe one of her sisters, please submit an application on the homepage of this website www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org Please call our shelter at 706-865-4135 or email us at smithgallhumanesociety@windstream.net to verify that we received your application.
