Story
My husband and I came across Percy almost three years ago when she would come into our back yard. We started to feed her and Percy has always seen us a reliable source for shelter and food while living outdoors. We knew she probably spent most of her life outdoors and wanted to respect her space. In March of 2023 she had a kitten and felt safe enough to have her kitten by our home and we took them both in. She has responded well to patience, space, and love as she adjusted to our home. We have three other kitties whom she gets along with. Percy is still working on trusting people and would do better adjusting to a new home than in a shelter. She is almost 3 years old and has parts of her that is self-reliant, a survivor, playful, guarded, cautious, and snuggly. Because my husband and I are military, we can only have two kitties knowing we travel a lot. We hope to find a new family that will provide her with love, patience while she adjusts, playtime, treats, and consistency.

Story
Bella is 4 years old. With a January 1 2021 birthday. We took her in as a kitten after kids found her sleeping in the hood of a car. She’s very friendly but can be a little skittish at times. I hate to let her go but due to my lease I can’t. She's a picky eater. I usually give hard then soft but she's not to fond If dry kibble.

Story
Cotton has been apart of my little home since he was a 4 week old kitten. He’s now 5. My daughter was born in December and has developed severe allergies to the kitties. Cotton has 2 sister cats (also up for rehoming), one large dog sister, and a couple caged friends. He’s always been in a multi-animal home. It may take him awhile to warm up to other males but he gets there eventually. He’s a big water lover and snuggler.

Story
ADOPTION PENDING!!! This is Jackie! This stunning little tabby kitten showed up on one of our volunteer’s doorstep in the cold of Winter, looking for a safe place to lay her paws. So we don’t know much about her past, but it seems safe to assume she was someone’s pet at one time and then was abandoned because she quickly turned into a loving, sweet, playful, curious little being. Jackie is estimated at about 6 months old, is fully vetted; and has great house manners (she uses her litter box faithfully). We are so lucky to have taken this great kitten into our program where she can find her furever home. She seems to love every cat she has met, so she would be a great companion to your existing cat/kitten or can also thrive as your one and only. She is grateful to be back in a home and off the streets, so we are looking for an INDOOR ONLY home for this little nugget. If you are interested in adopting Jackie, please fill out our required online application via this link: https://form.jotform.com/231967731104152 For the safety of all of our cats, a home visit is required on all adoptions, but we make this as unobtrusive and convenient (to you) as possible. AAC’s Adoption Program is new and growing, but right now we are VERY limited on space. So when you adopt Jackie you not only save her life, but open up a space so that we can save another cat. Hilton Head Island and its surrounding areas are amidst a crises with abandoned cats. We need to work together as a community to help these beautiful animals.
