Story
Tobey (originally Gerbil at the Atlanta Humane Society) was adopted as a 6 week old kitten in December of 2019. He is a very cuddly cat to his owners, however, he is territorial over his domain with a history of intimidating guests and our children. This has become difficult as we've started a family with two young kids. While he only has a couple instances of swiping at our kids/guests, he is difficult to trust. He has never bitten anybody. We think Tobey would do well in an adult-only home. We should also note that he is on a special diet, as he had a urinary obstruction in September 2023. We haven't had any issues since and the vet has assured us that future blockages are unlikely as long the prescription food is maintained. We would love for Tobey to find a loving home.

Story
Meet Nezuko, the snuggly little sweetheart with a gorgeous mix of black, gray, and white fur—and a whole lot of love to give! Raised in foster care since she was just 3 weeks old, Nezuko is a total people-kitten. She’s incredibly social, affectionate, and always ready for attention. Reach your hand into her playpen, and she’ll wrap her tiny paws around it like she’s giving you a hug—her adorable way of asking, *“Pick me up, please!”* Nezuko starts purring the instant she’s in your arms and loves to be cuddled close. But don’t let her gentle snuggles fool you—she’s also full of playful energy and especially loves wrestling with her brother Tanjiro. Her favorite toy is a rainbow ribbon wand, which she chases with dramatic flair and total enthusiasm. If you’re looking for an outgoing, affectionate kitten who will shower you with love and keep you smiling all day, Nezuko is ready to charm her way into your heart—and your lap! ----- The Pre-adoption process allows us to get the adoption process started early, even though vetting isn’t complete. Per the Department of Agriculture rules and regulations, The Kitten Rescue Project is responsible for vetting all of its kittens before adoption is final. At this time the kitten is not fully vetted because he/she is too young. We expect vetting will be completed around Dec 12th, but could be delayed a couple weeks longer if he/she does not meet the weight requirement by our vet. Once vetted, our kittens are dewormed, vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and microchipped. Our feline adoption fee is $120, which assists in offsetting but does not entirely cover the expenses incurred for the animal's care and completion of essential veterinary care. We do not place cats in homes based on the order of application received. Instead, we prioritize the earliest applications that are the best match for the kitten. We will prioritize applicants within a 2 hour drive of Atlanta, GA to help minimize the kitten's stress during transport. Our adoption process does not happen in a single day. Typically, it can take at least a week for applications to move from submission to adoption. We reserve the right to deny any applicant for any reason. Story
Meet Tanjiro, the brave little buff and white warrior with a heart full of love and a spirit that just won’t quit! Raised in foster care since he was just 3 weeks old, Tanjiro had a rough start battling pneumonia—but this tiny fighter pulled through with strength, determination, and a whole lot of purrs. Now he’s a happy, healthy, and playful kitten who’s making the most of every moment. Tanjiro is full of energy and joy—he loves to play, especially when it involves tackling his sister Nezuko in a surprise kitten ambush. But when the zoomies are over, he turns into the ultimate cuddlebug. He adores being held and will snuggle right into your arms, meowing sweetly and purring like a tiny motor. With his gentle nature, playful heart, and the cutest little meow you’ve ever heard, Tanjiro is ready to bring love, laughter, and joy to his forever home. ----- The Pre-adoption process allows us to get the adoption process started early, even though vetting isn’t complete. Story
Kiwi is an energetic, playful cat who is about 8 -10 months old. He was originally a stray cat as a kitten. He was microchipped & has received all of his vaccines except for his second rabies shot. Currently, we use Clump & Slide litter for him; he does not like wood pellet litter anymore. He likes to jump up on furniture and would enjoy a tall cat tree to jump up on and scratch on. He enjoys company and a lot of playtime, which he hasn’t been able to get much of due to our household’s demanding work schedules. He’s not a fan of cuddling unless he’s in the mood for it but he loves to sleep with people at night. He can be wary of new people and will hiss if you are unfamiliar, but nothing further than that. When given time to adjust, he becomes very friendly and playful. Please only adopt him if you have the patience to help him adjust to you and his surroundings!
