Story
Name / Breed  / Age: Riot,  Schnauzer, 1 yo Personality Traits: Happy go lucky, Loveable, Quiet Likes / Dislikes: Likes playtime with human and dog friends. No major dislikes yet! Health and behavior history:  Up to date on vaccines, dewormed, microchipped and will be neutered Nov 2024. Clean bill of health from the PIPs Vet! Meet Riot, a gentle, easygoing companion who’s as content to relax by your side as he is to join you on a new adventure. Riot lives with a cat in his foster home and shows very little interest in his feline friend—while we can’t officially call him “cat-friendly,” he’s definitely not aggressive and doesn’t show any prey drive. This sweet guy loves playing with his foster mom’s dogs and does well with her eight-year-old daughter, though his big-hearted playfulness sometimes makes him forget his size. For this reason, Riot might do best in a home with older kids who can enjoy his goofy, lovable nature. Riot’s the kind of pup who rarely barks, is fully house-trained, and has a natural calm that makes him a joy to be around. If you’re looking for a laid-back, loving companion who’s ready to fill your home with quiet warmth, Riot would be thrilled to meet you.   ##2209437##

Story
(DOB 05/07/2021) Your future best friend with a playful spirit and a heart full of love! Esco is a perfect blend of puppy energy and laid-back naps, making him a fantastic companion for active days and quiet evenings alike. What Makes Esco Special:Esco has a lively spirit and is always up for an adventure, whether it’s running around in the backyard or playing fetch with his favorite Shark stuffy (which he insists on bringing to bed every night). He loves his walks and exploring the neighborhood, though he’s still mastering his leash manners. With some patience and training, he’ll be a fantastic walking buddy! Home Sweet Home:Esco is happiest in a home with a securely fenced-in yard where he can run and play freely. He’d thrive in a family where people are home most of the time since he loves being close to his humans throughout the day. At night, he wants to sleep in bed with his people, where he feels safe and loved. Crates aren’t his thing, but that’s okay—he’s house-trained and sleeps soundly through the night. Furry Friends & Family:Esco currently lives with cats and enjoys having playful interactions with them. While he doesn’t live with other dogs full-time, he has spent time with other dogs when his foster family was away on vacation. He had a great time playing with them but seems to prefer dogs his size, as he can be reactive towards larger dogs. Unique Quirks & Charms:Esco has some adorable quirks: he can be a bit loud at times, especially when he’s excited, and he doesn’t always appreciate the big, noisy vacuum cleaner (though he’s surprisingly okay with robot vacuums). He can also get reactive to critters like squirrels, birds, and bunnies, so a watchful eye is necessary when he’s outside. Esco’s coat needs brushing a couple of times a week to keep it in top shape, even if he’s not always a fan of the grooming process. Why Esco Will Steal Your Heart:Esco adores snuggles, playing with his toys, and being wherever his people are. His loving and loyal nature, paired with his fun-loving energy, makes him a joy to have around. If you’re looking for a dog who will shower you with affection, make you laugh with his antics, and be your constant companion, Esco is ready to be your loyal sidekick. The Perfect Match for Esco:Esco would be happiest in a home where he’s not left alone for long periods, has a fenced-in yard to play in, and has other friendly animals (playful cats or dogs his size or smaller) to keep him company. His future family should be ready for plenty of love, playtime, and lots of snuggles! Think you might be the perfect match for Esco? He can’t wait to meet you and show you how much love and joy he can bring into your life!  As part of Esco’s $300 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Esco, you can fill in anonline application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2060648##

Story
Beauford is a 2-year-old, 20lb white Schnauzer mix. Beauford came into rescue with extreme anxiety including separation anxiety. He has improved over time given a stable loving home. It would take him time to get established in a new home and a potential adopter would need to understand and accommodate his need to be close and near most of the time. The adjustment period will take time, but Beauford is truly a sweetheart, and the wait would be worth it. Because of his anxiety and not being socialized with other dogs in the past, combined with his high need for attention and reassurance, he would do best as an only dog. Once Beauford is given the chance for a stable and loving home, he will be so affectionate and loving towards his person. If you think you have it in your heart to give Beauford a chance, please apply online at www.crisisdogsnc.org. Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. To ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/. Please note that questions via email or social media channels may not receive a response without a completed application. As part of our commitment to responsible adoption practices, we require excellent veterinarian references and conduct virtual home visits. Additionally, your prior or current dog must be on year-round heartworm prevention. We provide transportation by both land and air whenever feasible. All assessments regarding breed and age are conducted by licensed veterinarians. We look forward to assisting you in finding your perfect canine companion!November 5, 2024, 1:27 pm

Story
Meet Saylor, the 6-(ish) year-old, pint sized Schnauzer mix! If physical touch is your love language, then you're in for a treat because Saylor's favorite place to be is right in your arms. She's the ultimate Velcro dog, always by your side, and will become your little shadow in no time. Once she bonds with you (and she bonds fast!), she's all yours. Saylor has a playful streak! She LOVES zooming around the backyard, showing off her speed and her goofy little hop when she's excited. Plus, she's always up for some doggy playdates and is obsessed with chasing squirrels. Saylor needs a little time to warm up and build her confidence in new situations, but once she opens up, she's not afraid to lead the way with the big dogs! She loves playing with her four legged foster sibling by running circles in the backyard. Once she's comfortable, she a spunky, fun, energetic girl! Saylor's a smart cookie and is a quick learner! She hopes her future family will continue teaching her new things and taking her on lots of adventures. If you're looking for a loyal, goofy, and loving sidekick, Saylor is ready to fill that role (and your arms)!
