Story
Basil is approx 3 yrs old and 43 lbs, he looks like a schnauzer/ terrier mix , and maybe some bassett as he is a low rider, but we have no idea of what breeds he has in his DNA He’s overall a good dog, but needs an experienced adopter, he is very timid and shy and takes a while to warm up to new people He gets along with the other rescues and loves to run and play in the yard with them but can be pushy to new dogs that come into his fosters home and will try to nip Until he knows them and we feel he will be better as an only dog or with one buddy his size or bigger and no children He can be hard to put a leash on as he is scared of a leash and could do with some training , he loves to sit in his fosters office while she is working and stays very quietly He will come when you call him and goes inside when told to He seems to be very well house trained and will need a fully fenced in and secure yard , he’s a sweet boy that just needs the right home and loving owner THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY IN FOSTER CARE IN HOUSTON, TEXAS,WE SHIP OUR DOGS WITH MIGHTY MUTTS SHIPPING TO THE NORTH EAST OUR RESCUE POLICY - It is our rescue policy for all our dogs that we require a home with experienced dog owners only. While Gigi has a fondness for being around other dogs, she can sometimes display a bit of protectiveness and bossiness. However, fear not! With patience, understanding, and a little training, her current behaviors can be reshaped. I'm As she learns to enjoy the company of her fellow canines to the fullest extent, Gigi's playful side will shine through, making her an excellent companion for both humans and four-legged friends alike. Her quick-witted nature and eagerness to learn make her an ideal candidate for ongoing training, where she can further showcase her intelligence and charm. With Gigi by your side, you'll never have a dull moment, as she delights in discovering new tricks and challenges that engage her inquisitive mind. Story
Meet Sarah Jayne, or as she’s called now Josie. Josie is a sweet senior 16-pound schnauzer poodle mix otherwise known as a Snoodle! Josie is about 8 to 12 years old. She had been adopted from us about four years ago and returned due to no fault of her own. Josie walks well on a leash and is housetrained and also uses potty pads. She has been good with kids and other animals although she does prefer things on the quiet side. She doesn’t like to play with other dogs and prefers it if the cat leaves her alone! Josie tends to sleep a lot and just wanders around and checks things out around the house. She does have some special needs, as she needs to be careful with her food. She gets an upset stomach easily which can lead to pancreatitis. We have found that having a special medication on hand can easily prevent her from getting sick. Josie had complete bloodwork, as well as a dental cleaning at her recent vet visit. Interested in becoming a forever home for Josie? Fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we don't go any further without an application. Find more adoptable pets, news and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws . We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting Josie. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and Josie the perfect forever home, and appreciate you working with us. For immediate consideration, please attach your application to the initial inquiry to help us expedite the process. Our adoption fee is $525. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!

Story
Meet Daisy! Daisy is coming up on a year old and has spent more than half of her young life growing up in the shelter. Let's get this adorable scruffy girl into a home. She's some kind of adorable scruffy terrier mix (but NOT a non-shedding or hypoallergenic coat) We thought she was going to grow bigger but she's topped out at only 30lbs, the perfect size. Having grown up in the shelter and already being a bit of shy puppy, she's not had a lot of positive real world experiences and her initial reaction is to be afraid and shut down when confronted with new people, places, and events. In her familiar environment here and with her familiar people, she's a funny spunky wild child who loves to race around the play yards, go for long walks, and wrestle with her doggie buddies. Car rides, strangers, and so many other things scare her but her friends here have been working on socializing her and helping her be more brave. Daisy would like a quieter home with a stable routine and structure where she can continue to learn. She gets along with compatible doggie friends (mostly playful males her size or bigger... all her playmates keep getting adopted and leaving her behind:() No kitties or tiny animals for her please, once she gets comfortable she can be a bit of a bully with them. But mostly she loves her people that make her feel safe and comfortable and will be a loyal cuddly best friend in the right home. Please submit an application for an appointment to meet Daisy Primary Color: Brindle Age: 1yrs 0mths 3wks

Story
Sage is a shy but sweet scruffy puppy who was abandoned and so scared in the local pound. She warms up quickly and is a sweet playful pup looking for a home with the time to socialize and train an active pup. We think she's some type of schnoodle or doodle mix of some kind, 22lbs right now but still growing and will likely be a medium size 40-50lbs full grown. She has a lower shedding coat but does not seem to be completely non-shedding and suitable for allergy sufferers. She loves to play with other dogs and a more social doggie companion would likely help her come out of her shell. Please submit an application to meet Sage Primary Color: Black Age: 0yrs 4mths 1wks
