Mayla is crate-trained and feels safest in her crate, often venturing out only to use pee pads placed nearby. She’s not ready for walks yet, but is learning to enjoy exploring the world at her own pace with the right encouragement. She’s gentle with other animals and does well with both calm, big dog and the playful puppies. Mayla loves being close to you and the other dogs, she often chooses to observe from a distance and on her terms. Her unique Chewbacca-like howl is a charming quirk that makes her foster mom smile. This little lady thrives in a quiet environment and would do best with someone who can give her the patience and understanding she needs to blossom.  Fill out all below:Personality & Characteristics:My foster dog is good with: (Dogs, Kids, Cats)My foster dog is: (Crate trained, House trained, Low shed)3 Keywords for your pup:Energy Level (1= calm, 10= high energy): 2, very calm, very shy Barker? Story
Nice to meet you! I’m Sapphire, a 1.5-year-old Schnauzer mix with 40 pounds of energy and love to share. If you’re looking for a playful and fun companion, I’m your girl! I love running around, making every day an adventure. My excitement is contagious, and I’m always ready to brighten your day with my happy spirit. I’m a smart pup, and since I’m very treat-motivated, I really enjoy training sessions. I already know how to sit and shake, and I’m eager to learn even more tricks! Training isn’t just fun for me—it’s also a great way to bond with my favorite humans. I get pretty excited around other dogs, so I’d love a home where I can play and socialize. I’m looking for an active family who can match my energy and help me keep learning and growing. Whether we’re playing fetch, working on commands, or just enjoying some snuggle time after a busy day, I’ll be your loyal and loving companion. Are you ready to add a little sparkle to your life? Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://www.anewchancear.org/adopt/our-adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://www.anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.

Story
Meet Sarah Jayne, or as she’s called now Josie. Josie is a sweet senior 16-pound schnauzer poodle mix otherwise known as a Snoodle! Josie is about 8 to 12 years old. She had been adopted from us about four years ago and returned due to no fault of her own. Josie walks well on a leash and is housetrained and also uses potty pads. She has been good with kids and other animals although she does prefer things on the quiet side. She doesn’t like to play with other dogs and prefers it if the cat leaves her alone! Josie tends to sleep a lot and just wanders around and checks things out around the house. She does have some special needs, as she needs to be careful with her food. She gets an upset stomach easily which can lead to pancreatitis. We have found that having a special medication on hand can easily prevent her from getting sick. Josie had complete bloodwork, as well as a dental cleaning at her recent vet visit. Interested in becoming a forever home for Josie? Fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we don't go any further without an application. Find more adoptable pets, news and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws . We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting Josie. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and Josie the perfect forever home, and appreciate you working with us. For immediate consideration, please attach your application to the initial inquiry to help us expedite the process. Our adoption fee is $525. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!
